  4. Generic Hill Scheme F-4E+F-4G Phantom II Skin for TW+MF model

Generic Hill Scheme F-4E+F-4G Phantom II Skin for TW+MF model

    Update by Gerwin 6-4-2008

    DESCRIPTION:
Wanting a good hill scheme Phantom II, I ended up using the Mirage
Factory F-4G 'Late' Skin. Over time I made the following modifications:

-Scaled the skin down to the default resolution 512x512.
-Replaced certain skin parts with the default texture, such as the exhaust.
-Overlayed a subtile weathering layer. raised blue saturation.
-Fixed the numbering decals for the tail.
-Erased the insignia from the skins and replaced them with decals.
-Overlayed the default panel lines on the fuselage, tail and nose.
    -Adjusted various details.
-Made an F-4E suitable variant (different slimers, nose gun etc).

Regarding the F-4E tail codes: they are somewhat a copy of the F-4G codes.
I am a bit uncertain on the historical accuracy of this.

    INSTALLATION:
For the F-4G skin you need to have the Mirage Factory F-4G model installed.
you can find it at http://www.column5.us

Copy the included folder with contents to the folder that contains
    the F-4 files, for example:
    WOE\Objects\Aircraft\F-4E
When in the game select the skin in the loadout screen.

    THANKS TO:
Third Wire for the Strike Fighters Based Games.
Mirage Factory for the F-4G modification,
and base F-4G late skin (credited to Sundowner).

  8. Israeli 105th squadron Kurnass skins

Here are two skins for TMF's late Kurnass (with the re-fueling probe).
They represent the planes of the Israeli Air Force 105th squadron, displaying red and red/white arrows along the fuselage. Accurate serials are also included.
I used the TMF Kurnass skin, and combined it with sundowner's skins from his Kurnass pack. There are also alternative fuselage and tail sections included.

Drop the skins in the folder and have fun.

The skin depicts the F-4Es assigned to the 21st TFW in the late ‘70s. The 21st TFW was under the Alaskan Air Command and, at the time, had two tactical flying units, namely, the 18th and the 43rd TFS (markings included for both units).

  11. Razorback F-4C in Egypt I Scheme

Razorback F-4C in Egypt I Scheme (for SFP1, WoV & WoE)

This skin depicts an F-4C of the 184th TFS (aka the 'Flying Razorbacks'), painted in the Egypt I scheme. At least one plane of this squadron (the MiG killer 64-0748) wore this livery in 1988-89. The 184th TFS is assigned to the Arkansas ANG. They flew the F-4C from 1979.

Extract the 'Objects' folder and copy it directly into your game directory. Now, hopefully, you can select the skin in the loadout menu within the game.

    Thanks to:
    Drdoyo for his F-4E template;
    Bobrock for the weathering layers I borrowed from his F-104G template;
Mppd & Sundowner for some skin details (cockpit inside and exhaust area).

  14. VF-143 World Famous Pukin' Dogs

This is a skin for the F-4B that I adjusted to fit the F-4J for use with the LBII campiagn in the stock WOV campaign listing. Original was downloaded from Fist Of Fleet, but I think it was a Column 5 skin. All credit that I was able to give is on the Readme.

Special thanks to Cliff11!! Cliff taught me how to make the changes necessary to move the skins around. You might have noticed his last two skins in this folder. Most excellent!!

  15. Canadian Armed Forces CF-4C skin (What-If)

Here's another "What-If" skin I have been playing with for a while: If Canada's defence budget was enlarged by some factor and we found it neccesary to re-enforce our Voodoos with Phantoms.

Based on the stock Thirdwire "USAFGrey" scheme, I edited the .bmps to my liking and then applied the decals, graciously sent to me by Spinners with some mappings to boot. Thanks a million! Check out the Readme file for the full story.

Unfortunately, this skin isn't high-res and fancy like most of the others. It is but a simple, 512x512 affair. However, even with the relatively low resolution, the skin still looks great thanks to the use of decals. As a bonus, it is ultra frame-rate friendly!

This was originally a Royal Canadian Air Force skin, but the SF series seems to favor the Canadian Armed Forces, and the F-4C was a bit late, so I went with CAF instead.

    Enjoy!

EDIT: Version 1.2, with the squadron included in the Readme and the appropriate tail markings to boot!

  25. USAF F-4 Tailcodes Version 2

This is a complete overhaul to the USAF Southeast Asia Phantom II tailcode decals I did some time ago. It is now working for the post October patch for WOV as well as the original install versions. It depicts every USAF camouflaged F-4C/D/E Phantom II unit which flew in Southeast Asia from late 1966 until 1975 (a total of 66 schemes).

All new decal art is provided, and many minor corrections were made as new information came to light. The textures are still 1024 pixel but should be considered as a placeholder until my newer higher resolution camo textures are finished. The original random F-4 serial numbers are included if you don't already have them. The new squadronlist.ini has many additional entries, but the default entry designations are unchanged so that you may still fly any missions or campaigns without any editing (although I have revised the descriptions).

As before, it adds correct fin tip colors to the vertical fin tips and RHAW antenna housing, and wingtip tape light decals as appropriate for the time periods. Also included is a nose landing gear door decal with the last three digits of the serial number - which is repeated on the inside of the nose gear side fairing door (for F-4Ds only for non-TAC serials 000 thru 039). Although not appearing on every PACAF F-4D, this was very common on many F-4Ds in Southeast Asia. I have presented the most typical (and sometimes more colorful) markings for units - and in some cases even uncoded aircraft (as was typical at Udorn from late 1972 through 1973).

Note that many squadrons have multiple entries in the squadron pull-down list, depending upon how many schemes a unit used. (Many squadrons have five or more entries).

    Enjoy,
