Any X3-ers out there?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I have been playing the X series since it came out. REALLY addicted to X3. Any X3 players out there?

I'll admit it...I have the game installed and have maybe 15 mins of time in it! :blush2:

I know there's a lot of great mods out for it, too, but with no time in the game itself I've not really done much there.

Just so many other things occupying my time lately. I also got the Tarr Chronicles demo but don't even have that installed!

Oh Jedi, you are so missing out!

That game is crazy! I liken it to GTA in space. You can play a structured mission based game, or there is kind of a sandbox mode where you can choose what you want to be, whether it be merc, trader, etc. And just roam the galaxy looking for odd jobs, blowing crap up...all sorts of fun stuff. I go out in the black in my trusty Firefly class 03 transport

Ah, one of the mods you DL'd I take it?

I've heard there are tons of those mods out there for ships from movies and TV. What's the best place to find them, or is it more like a whole bunch of sites?

One of the reasons I like rF and GTR2 is that all their mods are in one location (rfcent and nogrip) making it easy to look for them.

Another X3 player here. Amazing, I keep finding people all over the forums I already know playing it as well.

Haven't gotten to see much even though I've had it since december. So damn expensive to buy new ships and upgrades, even harder when your TS gets destroyed while halfway across the galaxy.

Wow viper, that's purdy!

The XTended mod has long been at the fore front....

Maybe they should get hired to work on X4!

I suck at X3 (X2, X-Tension)... Usually end up as some sort of space beggar flying a basic fighter and hauling power cells (can't even afford fill my tiny hold with them) to pay for minor repairs. Once I managed to upgrade my "doomsday machine" with a couple of decent lasers and a shield, scared some pirates but the repairs cost much more that the loot.

I really got into games like freelancer and was looking forward to trying this but my 'puter would crap itself when I tried to play this on my old one (I have a new one as of Sunday, and it's one PIMP MOFO!!)

Anyways, I had some buddies who played this online and they seemed to think that mining was the only way to make a meaningful amount of cash, and that if you weren't mining, those who were would dominate your ass. Was this true? Admittedly, it's sort of what put me off it initially, but these mods coupled with my new killer 'puter has kinda rekindled my curiosity...

If memory serves, there is (or at very least was) a multiplayer mod....much in the same vein as the GTA Multiplay mods

I just bought X3: Terra Conflict but probably won't have time to get to it for a couple of months.

Know where I can find a CH map for it?
