Looking for new NVIDIA graphics card

Recommended Posts

Hey Folks,

I'm currently running a NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE, I know it's old (bought computer in '07). Looking for a new NVIDIA card, does anyone have any suggestions/opinions on a new NVIDIA GeForce graphics card?

Thanks

HR

Ruggbutt:

Only if his PSU can handle the wattage and it has the correct connections for a newer video card.

Yeah, unfortunately PSU considerations limit options. I'm not exactly certain what nvidia's top "safe" card (almost certain to work on any system) is.

Well I just got a GTX 570 and that says 550w minimum. I think the 560 says 500w. You'll need something lower. Ah, the 550 Ti is rated for 400w minimum. They run around $150.

The 560 (not the 560 Ti) is rated for 450w minimum, which is exactly what you have so you could try it. They run around $200.

Just remember, the older the PSU, the lower your actual wattage it actually produces.

I just bought a new rig with a GeForce650Ti. It is a bit expensive card but it will last longer...
