With a few nodded aircraft, especially mirages, ive noticed they have fixed drop tanks that over lap on weapon stations and cannot be removed. You can't even ditch them mid flight. I've looked over the data.in is and didn't see anything that looks like it forces this and they use the stock tw lods that don't have these fixed tanks. Can anyone point me to a way to remove this to achieve a "clean" setup?

"Fixed tanks" as you say need the tanks names in the data entry of the aircraft you are having trouble with...like so

This is for my mig29K then add them to the loadout and you can drop them when u need to..

Pylon entry

some aircraft with 2 loadouts on same pylon...

make sure you empty pylon 1st then reselect..1 weapon type...or create new loadout id

can you be more specific? you mention "uses stock tw lods" Which ones in particular (the aircraft's name)

 

also, check you don't have outdated data and loadout inis in the aircraft's folder. If so, rename them both and retest in-game to see if the double mountings show up.

If they aren't showing, the inis are at fault, and you'll need to extract the LATEST version from whichever object cat their in. (or not, depending!)

 

If they are still showing, more data will be necessary for us to run down the issues

One of the mods I'm having this issue with is the what-if F-114 mirage. It uses the stock tw mirage-IIIc lods but oddly enough has drop tanks fixed too the wings that don't appear to be on hardpoints but stuck directly to the wings.

 

For some reason I can't load combatace on my PC and have to use my phone so apologies for the formatting.

 

In the data.INI I see fuel tanks explicitly listed under [leftinnerwingstation] and [rightinnerwingstation]. I tried deleting the lines but then the plane won't show up in game.

 

I am running full merged and the latest patch.

ok. my what if USAF Mirage.

 

the data ini is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY outdated. You'll have to extract a fresh one for the Mirage IIIC, and copy all the "top" section (MissionData) into the new one. Also, cross check the hardpoints for the nationality callouts and so forth. In essence, you'll be rebuilding the NEW data ini (don't forget to rename it) with all the USAF specifics.

 

over the time when it was first released, MANY changes have been implemented by all the various patches and DLCs

 

if you're speaking of the 500 ltr "supersonic" tanks, yes they do sit that tight against the wing (just look at the AdA Mirages for comparison).

The supersonic 500 lt drop tanks of Mirage III cannot be jettisonned, this is historical

Perhaps but they weren't carried 100% of the time.

You can change is the loadout section or the loadout.ini

Already tried that. As wrench pointed out I had to basically rebuild the data.INI.

 

 

EDIT:

 

ok so i extracted the MirageIIICJ_DATA.INI and replaced the mission data and changed the weapon station country codes. I know have this problem.

This is with a loadout of only AIM-4s. Note that along with the ever present superosnic tanks, it is also carrying a double set of the 625 liter tanks, one of which can be dropped, the other of which is fixed like the supersonic tanks.

BTW Wrench, aside form the weird ini issues I really enjoy this mod. Gotta love those deltas!

you screwed something up, somewhere.

 

I looked it last night, and nothing like you're showing is presenting, Remember, it's using the FRENCH mirage IIC lod, NOT the Shahak's.

That's the likely explanation. I just got back into playing SF after taking a long break and SF2 is different enough in the ini's that I create more problems than fix.

Hello,

 

Another novice asking more or less the same question about the Mirage tanks.

 

I'm working on some loadout mods for the Cheetah E model (which is based on the DLC Mirage IIIO). The problem arise when I remove the entries for the PKT fuel/bomb combo tank and make attachment nation names changes to support the Kfir BFT tank (same as used by the SAAF on the Cheetah's). I get exactly the same double loading as seen in the pictures above. I don't quite follow the cure in this thread, any help will be most welcome.

When I make a\c with fixed tanks...you need another id for the station .so in fact 1 pylon becomes 2 but only one will show set up properly in the data.ini.....see below
