Calling Crowford

Recommended Posts

I am making a selection of bombs for the 1940 desert war and Spanish civil war.  I can't find much information about 1930s Soviet bombs, needed for Spain.  Can you help me out?  What colors were Soviet bombs and did they have any ID markings?  Thanks.

Hi, Geezer! In the period intresting for you, the Soviet airbombs of all calibres were traditionally painted grey (grey-blyish) - in 2 layers by an oil paint. The smallest bombs could be not painted, but only were coated with a varnish or greasing. For marking of amunition purpose were used the ring strips of a 5 primary colours (15 or 30 mm of width). The blue, white, red, yellow and green paints were used. So, the fragmentation bombs (AO) had the ring strips of blue colour, the incendiaru (ZAB)

the strips of red colours was rendered. And so on. The fougasse airbombs (FAB and older AF) had no markings. Also on the cases and on the stabiliziers of bombs were made by a black paint a cliche with the various factory information. P.S. I ask to forgive my for so delayed, brief and empty answer. It is pardonable. The point is that now I practically am deprived of access to the internet. The access to the network is possible only from my unpretentious phone, that is very inconverm

Really?)) I have not told anything, that you would not know, considering your expirience of historical reconstruction. However try to look here - http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_100144.html http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_9828.html http://trizna.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=44868 Unfortunatelly, all in Russian. Try with the goggle-translator and with my little help. )) But now I can write only SO - in a condensed form... Cheers.
