  1. Looks like a great time! A well deserved reward.
  2. There's not enough information for me to help with this, he can submit a support ticket or PM me about his old account but his new account is active and capable of downloading since he just made his second post. We don't allow for duplicate accounts so I wouldn't recommend he use the old account at all, just my advice.
  3. This free sentinel looks like a pretty nifty way to monitor your drives and it alerts you if there's a problem. Looks like a ton of information built into the GUI as well. https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/xpdnxg5333csvk?hl=en-US&gl=US
  4. Each disk manufacturer makes their own proprietary disk software. You can download and install per their instructions. Using a manufacturer's disk software may give you a few more values or options which are good for disk management if you need fix, move, or wipe a disk but if you're just looking to monitor you can use something like below. Windows has a pretty decent free option called Crystal Disk Info. You can grab it in the Microsoft Store here: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/xp8k4rgx25g3gm?hl=en-US&gl=US. There's a quick tutorial of how to use Crystal Disk here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej-5N81XXdg.
  5. HDDs and SSDs both fail but for different reasons, HDDs are mechanical and SSDs are electronic and have respective failures. Today's storage media has SMART (Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) built into it which will report problems with these drives, available for both HDD and SSD storage devices. Most people won't monitor their disks and there are no idiot lights so it tends to be a complete situational awareness and loss of data for them. In my opinion an SSD's speed and storage ability far outweigh the spinning platters of yesterday's HDDs. Backups and monitoring are your defense points, if you're doing one or both you are far better off than doing nothing at all.
  6. I know what I have, no low-ball offers.
  7. I've been thinking I need to upgrade but I'm still on the fence.
  8. Someone feed you damn kids too much sugar again? Now be quiet my program is on.
  9. Have you looked in the Knowledge Base? https://combatace.com/forums/forum/349-strike-fighters-knowledge-base/ Sorry I couldn't help myself
  10. The wounded machine is in a new chassis with a new RAID Controller and everything seems to have moved over without issue. This will hopefully curtail issues with disks randomly disappearing and trying to ruin my weekend. Please let me know if you guys see anything that I've overlooked either in performance or functionality. This officially ends our maintenance window for this report. Thank you.
  11. TK clearly said he knew the site was down and was working on a resolve. He didn't say what that resolve meant which could mean retooling his existing site to run on the new domain he's using. I would not count TK or TW out until we get some kind of confirmation one way or the other.
  12. Glad we're still here and sorry about the downtime. We've had nothing but problems with our RAID controller that handles all our files. Last night it dropped the mirrored drives and disconnected them as faulty units. We never see two disks fail at the same time under the conditions we had. I've been back and forth with the data center on this and I think we're both at the point we need dig in further or risk losing data. I hate to do it but we may need to take the site offline to fix it. I'll keep you guys posted and we'll get this figured out.
  13. Should be fixed, report any issues. Thank you.
  14. Downloads for Free Subscription members are limited to two downloads per day. If you log in daily you receive two downloads per day. If you log in every two days you get 50% less, so the perks are already built in. We can't really give download benefits based on posts, comments, or reactions because 98% of the time they aren't genuine / quality interactions. We end up getting posts and comments that say things like, "Posting" and that's it. People will do the absolute bare minimum to get what they want. I'm happy to listen if you have other suggestions. I'm sure they appreciate your suggestions, thank you. From our vantage point we're happy to let their hard work and dedication stand on its own merits without the need of site branding. Erik
  15. Update on the thirdwire.com site. I did some digging on this and from what I can see from the outside looking in, this was likely unintentional. The AWS 53 forwarding was removed or deleted from TK's Amazon AWS account, so the domain isn't rendering and it's getting stuck in an AWS server not found page. I @TK_ThirdWire on X.com and we'll see if he responds. He likely doesn't even know the site is down if he's not checking it routinely. Either way we'll see what happens and update you as we know more.
