  2. Hunter FGA.9 - No.8 squadron RAF

Hawker Hunter FGA.9, No.8 Squadron, Royal Air Force for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1
This is a quick decal conversion of the sublime Third Wire Hunter FGA.9 to enable you to fly a No.8 squadron machine.
This will only work in Wings Over Europe but you can, of course, also make it work in the other Third Wire 'Series One' games by extracting and exporting all of the relevant files. Since originally releasing this I've added Syrinx's fuselage serial numbers for the Hunter and included a nice loading screen and tweaked the hangar screen to give it 1960's three colour roundels.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9 into your Decals folder.

    CREDITS
Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim.
Thanks to former member Syrinx for making the fuselage serial numbers.
And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
    Regards

  5. J-34 Hunter

This is the Swedish version of the Hawker Hunter,
used in the Swedish "Flygvapnet" 1955-1969.

NOTE1: This can only be used in "Wings Over Europe"
    .
However it is simple to use the "File Extract Util" to extract the cockpit and 3-d model files
into the J-34 Hunter folder for use in WoV or SFP1.

NOTE2: You must have the latest version of "Weapon Pack" installed

  7. Indian Air Force Hunter F.56 serial numbers pack

This pack contains serial numbers of 160 Hunter F.56s delivered to the Indian Air Force. Also included are serial numbers of a couple of F-86 killers from the 1965 war:
    1. BA245 No. 7 Sqn" Battle Axes" F-86 Kill by Fg. Off. P S Pingale(1965)
    2. BA250 No.14 Sqn "Bulls" F-86 Kill by Flt. Lt. A T Cooke(1965)

    **********************
    Hunters of the IAF
    *********************
A delegation from India visited Hawker in the UK in 1956 to consider purchase of either the Hunter F.4 or the F.6. Not surprisingly they chose the F.6, ordering 182 in 1957, including 160 "F.56s" , which were F.6s with cannon muzzle blast deflectors and brake chutes, and 22 "T.66" trainers.

The first 16 F.56s were actually F.6s obtained directly from RAF stocks, which were modified to F.56 standard after delivery to India. The remaining F.56s were delivered from Hawker. Initial delivery of the F.56 to India was on 11 October 1957, with the type going into squadron service at the end of the year.By the end of 1961 Indian Air Force (IAF) Hunters were up to strength, equipping seven squadrons. They were generally painted in standard RAF green / dark gray / light gray colors.

Indian Hunters are believed to have participated in "Operation Vijay(Victory)" - Liberation of Goa from Portuguese rule in 1961.

Indian Hunters saw their first major combat service during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1965, when they were mostly used in the ground-attack role.

    **************
    Installation
    **************
Drop f56 folder to hunter directory. Copy hunter_1.bmp from IAF20 folder found within Hunter_F6 folder.

Many thanks to Armourdave for making the Hunter F.6 for SF.Thanks also to Sundowner for making an IAF skin for the Hunter.

Hawker Hunter FGA.9 - 1970's Wittering Wing for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1
This is a simple decal conversion of the sublime Third Wire Hunter FGA.9 to enable you to fly a mid-1970's era Hunter from the short-lived Wittering Wing that was created to keep RAF newly graduated ground-attack pilots 'current' whilst waiting for the Jaguar to enter service.
This will only work in 'Wings Over Europe' but you can, of course, also make it work in the other Third Wire Series One games by extracting and exporting all of the relevant files.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9w folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9w into your Decals folder.
Your stock Hunter FGA.9 will not be affected by this mod.

  10. Defenders of the Alps

    Hi fellow aviator!

Another Hunter skin, exotic one from a "late" user.

Switzerland used the Hunters in this livery, these planes representing
a batch of 8 from the 20 Staffel. these all were from the first 100 delivered, being Mk.58s. Later
ones were Mk.58As and were numbered in the 41xx series.

Thanks to Sundowner, Gramps, Diego, Marcelo and David for their original work on
    plane and skins!

    NOTE: ONLY for Armourdave's Hunter F.6 !!!!!!!!!!!!

dumping them and replacing them with MiG-21s. The five in this package were (representing F.76s)
bought from Abu Dhabi in 1982 together with two T.77s and one FR.75A.

  13. Leeuwarden based KLu Hunter F.4 (mod)

This is one of several Fokker-built Hunters of the KLu. This one was one of several
stationed at airbase Leeuwarden and was part of 630 squadron when they were still
flying aircraft instead of doing airbase security.
It was essentially a F.4 on which the wings of the F.6 type were joined. these have dogtooth trailing edges.

    Enjoy this handsome one!

(Thanks Sundowner for the use of the basic Hunter skin!)

PS: This skin is to be used for AD's Hunter F.6, so NOT for the standard Hunter FGA in WOE!!

-As adviced by "Kirsten"I have enlarged the squadron logo to be more in proper proportions with the real thing!-

  18. Red Devils

The last aerobatic display Hunter I intend doing, it was hard work lol, and i still don't have it exactly as i'd like. As the Red Devils never flew the FGA9 this again is a speculative scheme but its fairly closely based on the one the used on their Mk.6s so please don't tell me i got it wrong :)

  19. RJAF Hunter repaint

    Hunter F73
    Royal Jordanian Air Force
    *******For WoI*******

I was never very happy about the colour of the stock Hunter skin. It looks fine for a gate guardian that has sat outside in all-weathers for 20 years, but not for a Hunter on active service during the 1960s. This skin is more like the Armourdave skin with a few added decals to make it more representative of a RJAF Hunter in 1967.

  21. "Black Arrows" Hunter

A skin for a Hunter of 111 Squadron R.A.F display team of the 1950-60s. It's not exactly accurate , for instance the squadron badge is a bit large and I don't think the FGA9 was ever flown in display, but apart from that I think it looks pretty good.

For those who don't know, The Blacks were one of the first post-war RAF display teams regularly flying 16 Hunters of various types and 1n 1958 they looped 22 Hunters at Farnborough which is still a world record, history lesson over lol.
