Here are some new counters for WoI and WoV maps: smaller, softer-coloured, more readable (especially for heavy stacks), with national colours and flags/roundels.
Also includes a new list of IAF/IDF ranks, in Hebrew.

Desert Map 1

Hello, here is a replacement map for the desert terrain of Strike Fighters. It is the small map (512x512) that is used as the moving map. I've repainted it to represent the yellow colour seen in moving maps in modern cockpits (see pic)

Detailed WOV Planning Map (South Vietnam)-Printer Friendly

I thought that I'd share with you my WOV Planning Map. I've been using it for mission design. It shows the whole of Southern Vietnam, up to and including the Dong Hoi airbase just North of the DMZ.
Each grid is shown, as used in-game to determine an object's position, within the map's range from X=410000 to 850000, and Y=090000 to 580000). I've re-coloured parts of the map to make them easier to see the grid lines and airbases when you print it out - either colour or gray-scale. Test so far show that it comes out neatly on a single side of A4 or Letter-sized paper.
This map is a .jpg file so it's not huge in terms of file size (only ~160k). If people want the .bmp or even the .ppt I used to construct it then please get in touch, as these are much larger files. Thanks.

Inflight Icon Pack
An inflight map icon pack to give you a bit more to choose from with how
you want friendly and enemy flights to appear on the inflight map.
Friendly icons in blue consist of the top profile views of: A-10, F-14, F-16,
F/A-18, F-22, Tornado, and Typhoon.
Enemy icons in red consist of the top profile views of: Mig-23/27, Flanker,
and a Mig-25. I tried to think of some more air frames that could be used
to describe an enemy flight, but those are the 3, and the Mig-23/27 also
looks a lot like a Su-24 or was it a Su-25?

Installation: MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO..... MAKE BACK-UPs OF THE ORIGINAL
FILES. Next, remove the digit after which friendly and enemy icon that you
want in this folder, copy them, and then paste them into the Flight folder
of your SFP-1(G), WOV, WOE, and/or WOI.

The problem with the previous version was because I accidentally sent the compressed
file version. Sorry about that.
These two icons will change the inflight map icons for friendly and enemy aircraft.
The friendly icons now show up in blue as the top profile of a F-15. The enemy
icons show up in red as the top profile of a Mig-29.

Back-up and save your current inflight map icons. Copy and paste the Flight folder
into your SFP1(G)/WOV/WOE/WOI folder.

This is a mod to stop The "Crash TO Desktop" caused by selecting the map in the hanger screen in the Nothingness Terrain. I hit the Map button testing stuff so much that this small mod was a must.
There are 3 maps and a repainted white.bmp (2 tone Tan)to give the terrain a little color,helps with perspective.
To install: Just unzip and drop the 4 .bmp's into the Nothingness Terrain folder,and test away,
Note: Terrain loading time with this mod installed is increased by 00.2 seconds.You'll just have to wait.

I made this map to Israel: mainly Yom Kippurn campaign.
In this colorfull map Players can see every day current situation of war. It makes game intresting because, fronts are moving. May be this planningmap works in early campaings too, i dont know? No tested. But in Yom Kippur it works very good.

Planning Maps for Black Sea Terrain

A rather generic-style set of planning maps for pfunkmusik's new Black Sea Terrain.
No readme is in the zip, so just unzip somewhere, like a temp folder, and just copy paste the 3 planningmap.bmps into the Black Sea terrain folder. When asked to "Overwrite?", just say yes.
As stated, they're pretty plane jane...and only show the airfields.

Remove the red planes from the in flight Map

Game not challenging enough? - why not stop red planes appearing on the map!
Just download and copy MAPENEMYICON.tga to your "Flight folder" ie
"C:\......\WingsOverVietnam\Flight"
If you feel like you are getting shot down to much afterwards - just delete MAPENEMYICON.tga again and all will revert to normal....easy hey
tested in WOI / WOV but should work in SF/WOV/WOE/WOI/FE
Note about SF2: This will work in the strike Fighters 2 series - however TK kindly included these options in the HUDDATA.ini file (which you would need to extract from the flightdata.cat file) from June 2009 which can just be set to true or false as you need - so you can acheive the same thing from here:

Replacement of UBon RTAFB for WoV

This is a replacement for the Stock base as this one didn't do any justice to the real one.
This release is a beta release, update is planned once I get some feedback on any troubles it might give. I depend a bit on you since my time is too limited to do any serious testing.
It was created using Flight Simulator Scenery creator, Polaks converter for SCN to Target.ini conversion and a lot of cursing.
Detailed instructions on how to install and credits are included in the Readme.txt!

Wings Over Vietnam Enhanced Planning Maps

Enhanced planning maps for the stock Wings Over Vietnam SEA Terrain, Version 1.0.
This is a very basic supplement to make it easier to design WOV SEA missions. Paint Shop Pro 9 was used to combine the stock planning maps with text to mark key target areas. Kreelin's WOVQMD was used to identify target area locations and names based on the terrain files. The text is 50% transparent, which makes it a light gray tone.
The low resolution map looks ok in the game... But I suggest using the higher resolution map (MAP2) for mission planning. The optimum WOVQMD mission design solution is using a desktop resolution of 1600x1200 with MAP2.
