    The pack include four different version of the same schemme. Due to the lack of photographic material, it was very difficult to get the real color so we've decided to include different version and let the choice to the final user.

  5. VA-172 Blue Bolts 1969/1970

    VA-172 Blue Bolts

    In September 1961, VA-172 upgraded to the A4D-2N (A-4C). VA-172 entered combat over Vietnam in August 1966 from the Roosevelt, and after a Mediterranean deployment on board the USS Shangri-la (CVA-38) in 1969, returned to Vietnam on board the Shangri-la in March 1970. The Blue Bolts lost five A4Cs and five pilots to enemy action during both war cruises. VA-172 was disestablished on 15 January 1971. ( Source: www.va-172.org)

  20. RNZAF A-4K skin.

    RNZAF A-4K 'Kahu' Skyhawk.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Going on pictures and profiles/decal sheets some of the RNZAf Skyhawks green paint were different colours (lighting or weathering probably had to do with it) so I darkened up a bit Gramps's fantastic original skin.
    I also used the decals from his version since they are the right ones...and therefore cant be improved much? ;)
    His readme is below. Im assuming you've already downloaded his model since the "full" plane isn't included here ;) if you havnt well goto here: http://www.grampsflightsims.com .
    Install it following his instructions (bearing a striking resembalance to the ones below).
    Then install my skin like so:
    Open the A-4K.ini and add this to the end
    [TextureSetXXX]
    Directory=GreenKiwi
    Name=Green A-4 Kahu
    Nation=NewZealand
    Squadron=
    Specular=0.30
    Glossiness=0.75
    Reflection=0.00
    replace the XXX with the next number after previous..like so:
    [TextureSet001]
    Directory=LightGreen
    Name=Light Green A-4 Kahu
    Nation=NewZealand
    Squadron=
    Specular=0.30
    Glossiness=0.75
    Reflection=0.00
    [TextureSet002]
    Directory=GreenKiwi
    Name=Green A-4 Kahu
    Nation=NewZealand
    Squadron=
    Specular=0.30
    Glossiness=0.75
    Reflection=0.00
    go fly! :)
    enjoy! S! Greg "geg" Thomas, March 19th 2004. etendard@gmail.com
  23. A-4 Skyhawk updated Skin Pack for Third-Wire model
    A-4 Skyhawk updated Skin Pack for Third-Wire model
    1) IAF (Israel) 'Ahit' skin, for A4-F (original work by Markfighters and Sundowner)
    2) USMC Camo skin, for A4-E (original work by mitch)
    3) USN Low Vis skin, for A4-E (original work by column5)
    Update by Gerwin 25-3-2008
    DESCRIPTION:
    Third Wire did an excellent job on the A-4F skin,
    both in regard to detail as to weathering.
    There are also some interesting user skins for the
    Skyhawk series offered on the internet, including
    the three described above. Yet I noticed the skins
    lacking on certain areas:
    -gun fume stains
    -weathering effects
    -properly aligned camo pattern and other alignments
    -panel details
    -overall texture brightness/saturation
    -usage of decals
    -colors of certain areas
    So here are the updated skins, most work was
    done on the Ahit (which now uses WOI colors),
    and the Camo scheme (many obvious errors, I have no
    photo references of this scheme). The low vis scheme
    was only slightly adjusted/weathered.
    NOTE: These skins will not adjust aircraft data,
    only the nation and the appearance.
    INSTALLATION:
    Copy the included folder with contents to the folder that contains
    the A-4 files, for example:
    WOE\Objects\Aircraft\A-4E
    When in the game select the skin in the loadout screen.
    THANKS TO:
    Third Wire for the Strike Fighters Based Games,
    Markfighters
  24. TA-4J VC-8 "Redtails"
    This aircraft depicts a TA-4J of Composite Squadron 8 (VC-8), the Redtails, out of Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, June, 1997. As always, special thanx to Fracture for creating this beautiful aircraft and to Starfighter2 for his help with the making of this skin. Skin is for TA-4J_ADV.
    The "Redtails" of Composite Squadron Eight (VC-8) were the last U.S. Navy active duty unit to operate the Skyhawk on a regular basis. Flying the TA-4J out of Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, equipped with special electronics gear, VC-8 Skyhawks provided utility missions in support of fleet operations, close air support training for Marine, Army, and Special Force units, and operated in an adversary role in support of the Tomcat and Hornet RAGs and fleet unit training.
    The last USN active duty Skyhawks, flown by this squadron, were retired from active service on 3 May 2003.
