Tweaked Flight Models and Realism Pack for FE2
By VonS
Hello Fellow Fliers of First Eagles 2,
Version 11.0 of the FM/Realism Package for FE2 contains approximately 220 WWI aircraft types and sub-types, for your (virtual) flying enjoyment. For detailed installation instructions, please check over the main "Read Me First" file that is included, as well as several older (pdf) files and that cover aircraft performance info., tips, etc., across all previous versions of the FM update package.
A great many thanks go out to Peter01 and Ojcar, also TexMurphy, for making most of those flight model files to begin with. Also a great thanks goes out to Stephen1918, MontyCZ and Laton for providing lots of beautiful planes and skins that go with those great flight models, to NBell for the many hitbox improvements provided for the planes, also to VonOben, Mike Dora and Crawford for many helpful suggestions, and to the A-Team by SkunkWorks for allowing me to tweak a few of the FMs for their models too. And of course a very big thanks goes out to Geezer for several fantastic, high-quality models that were produced for FE2.
What I've done is tinkered with the data files further. Modifications in all cases, to a greater or lesser extent, include data under the following sections:
(a) MissionData
(b) FlightControl
(c) AIData
(d) Sound
(e) AircraftData
(f) Engine
(g) Crew
(h) Internal Guns
(i) Control Surfaces
(j) Landing Gears
(k) Fuselage, Nose, Tail, Vertical Tail, LeftStab, RightStab, Rudder, Left/Right/Inner/Middle/Outer/Tip Wing components
Enjoy and happy flying!,
Von S
NOTES: For several of Geezer's latest aircraft and my FMs for those aircraft (Nieuports, Pfalzes, etc.), which are not included in this package, please see the relevant post located towards the bottom of page 25 of the "New Aircraft" thread for FE2, on CombatAce. Also see relevant posts on pages 26, 27, and 28 of that same thread for Geezer's "early beta" collection that contains the Breguet XIV, Junkers J.I, and other updates, including performance info. for some of those aircraft types.
DISCLAIMER: All Von S mods., for FE2, SF2, also WOFFue/pe/bh&h2, as well as for RoF (United Ed.), are subject to the CombatAce "freeware" terms of agreement. Mods. may be shared with others, included on other media devices, also modded further, providing that original documentation and/or credit is included, and providing that the mods. remain free to use. Von S mods. shall not be sold, resold, etc., and Von S takes no responsibility for injuries or fixations that may result from flying heavily tweaked FMs or from attempts to enjoy real flying without aid or instruction from a qualified flight instructor.

Dr1 HARD FM - Firecage
By Firecage
The A - Team has given me permission to release this to the forums and combat ace but that doesn't mean they endorse it yet. They may be sitting back laughing to hard to speak yet. Ya just never know.
Enough on that... its tuned for hard FM, Its a freak show to fly, its like riding on glass at times.... but if you work with it some you will find its a mean machine IMHO.
After being shown some articles from people who have been in the cockpits of a dr1, I tried to make the plane have the results they described. The plane seem to be washy and tends to be a bit un ruley but, if you can get hold of the reigns it's a blast.
This FM blows on normal, sorry
This is only version 1.0 trial runs. I have an account on CA and you can msg any useful info to me there for FM suggestions.
Installation :Go to wwi>objects>aircraft>dr1 Back up your dr1_Data.ini somewhere and drop this one in its place.

SPAD 13 to 12 and 7 conversion
By Gr.Viper
No remodeling or repaints.
Since SPAD 7, 12 and 13 use nearly the same airframe, I've created the new planes via FM edit i.e. by adjusting speed, engine power, weight and armaments.
SPAD VII is armed with single Vickers MG (the right one of the stock SPAD). Compared to SPAD XII Engine performance is lower an so is the weight. Available since summer 1916.
SPAD XII Ca. is a rare bird. There were only 300 of them built. The plane features a 37mm Hotchkiss cannon with muzzle placed at the prop spinner. Cannon has to be manually reloaded after each shot - the reload takes 10 secs(the stock reload sound lasts 6 secs, though). You also have one Vickers MG with reduced ammo. Engine performance is between the ones of SPAD VII and SPAD XIII. Weighs more than S.XIII so take care, especially when bearing a bomb.
Warning: the 37mm is set up as 'Secondary weapon' so you should have a key assigned to firing it in the controls menu. The AI will fight using Vickers only. I've tried another setup but they ended up never hitting with cannons and barely shooting MGs.
Update for Patch 2.. and apparently the previous update was pretty messed up (entry dates, mass, hp) which I didn't notice and no one complained This update is more thoroughly checked
Installation: unpack to ObjectsAircraft folder. Copy all *Camo folders from SPAD13 to SPAD7 and SPAD12.

Aviatik-Berg D.I
By Stephen1918
Aviatik-Berg D.IDesigned by Julius von Berg for the Aviatik company, the D.I was the first fighter completely built in Austria. The Berg was light and maneuverable, and after structural problems in the early models were overcome, it became a good combat plane.
Although nimble, reasonably fast, and able to reach higher altitudes than many of the planes it fought, the Aviatik D.I was prone to overheating. Many pilots flew with the engine cover panels removed, so I built this plane without the engine cover.
Early versions of the plane had the two Schwarzlose machine guns mounted low on each side of the engine. Later versions put the guns higher and within reach of the pilot to make it easier to clear jammed guns. This is a later version with the guns firing through tubes under the manifolds and projecting through the radiator.
I have included a basic skin along with my skinning templates. I highly recommend the skins made by Quack74, available at CombatACE as a separate download.
Revision 1 - June 12, 2011It appears that I made the original about 20% too large. I have rescaled the plane to the correct size, this involved making some changes in and around the cockpit. Since I was revising the cockpit, I put the correct guns in this version (Schartzlose instead of Spandau.) I have also included the FM written by ojcar, and the sound for the Austro-Daimler engine made by Nix.This version includes all new LODs, new data file, new cockpit ini, and new decal ini. If you have downloaded the previous version, it would be easiest to just delete the whole folder and replace it with this version.
Revision 2 - September 20, 2011I have added a complete set of letter decals so you can set a flight letter in the Loadout screen, or the game will randomly assign a different letter to each plane. There will also be a different serial number randomly assigned to each plane as well.
Revision 3 - June 5, 2012I have made slight changes to the model, especially in the rigging. This revision has all new LODs. Ojcar has made changes to the FM to work with the new model. All the decals are the same as before.
Installation Instructions - New install
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "AviatikD1" into the "Aircraft" folder in the FirstEagles/Objects folder. You also need to move the sound file "Austro-daimler200.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "AviatikD1" into the "Aircraft" folder in the FirstEagles/Objects folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "AviatikD1". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/AviatikD1 folder into the Decals/AviatikD1 folder you just made. You also need to move the sound file "Austro-daimler200.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
Installation Instructions - Update existing install
For both FE1 and FE2 - Delete the following files and replace them with the new versions: All the LOD files and OUT files - you are deleting three of each and replacing them with four of each. The OUT files are optional and not necessary for the game. AviatikD1.ini - the new one makes use of the extra LOD.AviatikD1_DATA.INI - The new one uses the new rigging and is slightly more compact than the original.Everything else is the same as in the Revision 2 download.

Spad XII
By p10ppy
Little mod of the Spad VII to turn it into a Spad XII (apologies and acknowledgement to Gr.Viper who went before me)
Model changes: removal of the nose humps and reskin
XXX_data.ini changes: tweaked flight model reflecting the much heavier weight, more powerful engine (220hp nominal), wing stagger, better aerodynamics, and more wing area
New weapon (37mm S.A.M.C.) New (it’s a mod of stock) reloading sound for the canon (its slow), New firing effect for the canon (cockpit smoke)
New hanger and loading screens
The canon is on the secondary fire button and takes 12 sec to reload (new sound more or less reflects this)
It has 12 reloads
I have seen the A.I get infrequent hits with this setup (I’m pretty infrequent too)
---------------------------------------------------
A few “Facts”
The Spad XII was a beefed up version of the Spad VII with a new engine (Hispano-Suiza 8Cb 220hp) and a slightly more refined fuselage, more wing area and the most obvious difference, slight wing stagger (something we can’t do with the stock model)
It had a 37mm S.A.M.C. semi-automatic canon with twelve reloads mounted to fire through the prop hub and with the breech situated between the pilot’s legs
Because of the breech placement the controls were of the Deperdussin type (wheel)
After initial enthusiasm for the aircraft by the French ace Georges Guynemer, the Aéronautique Militaire placed an order for 1000 airframes,
However the Spad XII proved very difficult to fly with its unfamiliar controls, the new weapon filled the cockpit with smoke on firing and was difficult to aim and reload, and to cap it off, the new Hispano-Suiza proved to be unreliable
Its doubtful that more than twenty aircraft were completed and these were issued singly to individual Aces of the Aéronautique Militaire, There were never more than 6-8 on the front at any one time and they were widely spread throughout the Escadrille’s
---------------------------------------------------
Top speed 220kph at SL
Ceiling 7000m
Empty weight 628kg
---------------------------------------------------
Files
New Reloading sound: gun_reloadlg.wav goes in the Sounds folder
The SOUNDLIST.INI must be modified to add the sound (this must be extracted to the flight folder if you haven’t already) see below
New gunfire effect: 37mmSpad.ini must be placed in the effects folder
New cannon must be added to the bottom of your GUNDATA.INI (this must be extracted to the Objects folder if you haven’t already) see below, and then the GUNDATA.INI must be opened and saved with the gun editor
New aircraft folder SPAD_XII placed in the Objects/aircraft folder
This contains 4 skins (the French aces, Nungesser of Esc65, Madon of 38ESC, Fonck of Esc103 and Guynemer of Esc3),
the Ini’s necessary for the craft,
a hanger screen and two version of the loading screen: wide(default) and normal (you must rename it to use it)

Albatros Package (DVa speed fix plus DI,DII, DIII flight models) including skins
By TexMurphy
Ok this is a package that makes DI, DII and DIII versions based on the DVa 3d model, for FE patch 1. This is just a place holder until real DI-III models come out.
Including in this package is:
*4 great skins by JFM.
*3 new flight models.
*1 (DVa) flight model fixed, post patch the DVa was way to slow.
Requirements:
*Too be able to fly the Albatroses you need the cockpit. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3701
Install guide:
1. Make a backup copy of <install folder>ObjectsAircraftAlbatrosD5a
2. unrar Albatros.rar into <install folder>ObjectsAircraft make sure to preserve folder structure
* three new directories get created, AlbatrosD1, AlbatrosD2, AlbatrosD3
3. download and install the Albatros cockpit http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3701
4. Also make sure to install the albatros cockpit into AlbatrosD1, AlbatrosD2, AlbatrosD3 (you just need to copy the cockpit folder as there are separate _cockpit.ini files for each plane and they are included in the package.
5. Add skins to AlbatrosD1, AlbatrosD2, AlbatrosD3. In the <install folder>ObjectsAircraftAlbatrosD5a you will see that there are a few subfolders. All subfolders except the "cockpit" one are skins. Copy one or more of them into the AlbatrosD1, AlbatrosD2, AlbatrosD3 directories.
Thanks to JFM for skins and stats research.

Albatros C.III
By Stephen1918
The Albatros C.III was a general purpose two-seat plane and was based on the C.I and C.II models. An improved tail structure made it more agile than its predecessors and it was produced in large numbers.
The plane was armed with a Parabellum machine gun mounted on a pivot in the rear cockpit along with a synchronized machine gun mounted beside the engine. The C.III was used for reconnaissance, aerial photography, and light bombing.
The gun ring had limited movement, especially in the vertical direction, which I have tried to reproduce in my model.
I have included two loadouts, one for four 12.5 kilo bombs carried internally, and another for six 12.5 kilo bombs carried externally under the wings.
I have also included three skinning options - an unpainted standard wood and linen, a light blue paint, and a green paint. All of these are pretty basic so I have included my skinning templates for those who want make their own skins.
This plane uses the national markings that come with First Eagles, so you can change nationalities to fly for Bulgaria or the Turks.
I have included decals for serial numbers and for personal markings. These will be applied randomly. Some of the personal markings include crosses, I don't know if that would be appropriate if you're flying for the Ottoman Empire.
Historical Notes:
The serial numbers are fictious, but in the correct range for the 1916 Albatros C.III.
The personal markings are completely fictious, but I think reasonable for German markings early in the war.
I have not found an example of the Albatros C.III in green paint, but many German planes on the Eastern Front were painted green later in the war, so the color is not unrealistic.
If historical accuracy is important to you, you can delete the offending files.
Credits:
My thanks to Ojcar for making the excellent data.INI file for this plane.
My thanks to Nix for making the realistic engine sound file for the Mercedes 6 cylinder engine.
Thanks also to Sinbad, Whitekinght06604, and Wrench who provided me with valuable resouces and information for the cockpit details.
Installation instructions:
For FE1: Unzip the file and move the folder named "AlbatrosC3" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Airplanes folder. You also need to move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2: Unzip the file and move the folder named "AlbatrosC3" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Airplanes folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "AlbatrosC3". Move the folder named "D" from the Airplanes/AlbatrosC3 folder into the Decals/AlbatrosC3 folder you just made. You also need to move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

Lloyd C.II
By Stephen1918
This is a complete revision of the Lloyd C.II with all new LODs, new skins, and improved decals. Ojcar has also improved the FM for this plane. Any skins that were made for the original version will not work with this version.
The Lloyd C.II was based on a pre-war Austro-Hungarian airplane but with a slightly shorter wingspan and the addition of a machine gun on a circular mount for the observer. The C.II featured a plywood body and swept-back, tapered wings and was used for reconnaissance and light bombing throughout the war.
The gun ring had limited movement, especially in the vertical direction, which I have tried to reproduce in my model. This will be a challenging plane to fly because you need to move the plane to bring enemy planes into range of the gunner. There is no gun for the pilot.
There are also two bomb loading options for light and heavy bombing runs. (We don't know if the Lloyd ever carried 50kg bombs, but we included the option anyway.)
I have included three skinning options, one with standard Austro-Hungarian markings from early in the war, and two from later in the war. I have included my skinning templates for those who want make their own skins.
I have included a set of serial numbers which will be randomly assigned to each plane. The numbers are fictitious, but in the correct range for the Lloyd C.II.
Ojcar made a new data.ini for this plane. He added the heavy bomb option to the loadout. The 6.5 Schwarzlose gun he created for the original plane is included, along with his instructions for loading the gun data ("DataReadMe.txt")

Great thanks to Ojcar, who made the excellent FM and who added some nice features to this plane.
Installation instructions:
This is a complete revision of the original Lloyd C.II. If you have the plane already, begin by deleting the Lloyd C.II from the Aircraft Folder, and (if you run FE2) from the Decals folder. Then install the new plane.
For FE1: Unzip the file and move the folder named "LloydC2" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
For FE2: Unzip the file and move the folder named "LloydC2" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "LloydC2". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/LloydC2 folder into the Decals/LloydC2 folder you just made.
To install the gun:
This is the same gun that was included with the original Lloyd C.II. If you had the original plane, you don't need to install the gun. If this is your first install, follow the instructions below.
For FE1: Follow the instructions in Ojcar's DataReadMe.txt file. You'll have to make changes to the LloydC2_data.ini file.
For FE2: Follow the instructions in Ojcar's DataReadMe.txt file.
