  2. B-70 Valkyrie Beta (Version 0.97)

B-70 Valkyrie (Beta) by FastCargo and friends.

    ********************** Version 0.97 ***********************
(Note, this release includes the XB-70 beta released in November 2010)

SF2 Version for Dec 2010 Patch.

Models, some decals, most ini adaptions by FastCargo
Textures and most decals by Sundowner
Dyess AFB serial numbers by Dave from B-1B Redux
3D Rocket Effects by Lexx_Luthor (Lord of the Analog)
    B-1B Cockpit by Dels
    Engine Effects by Deuces, Fubar512
    Any errors are mine...

    Package contains:

XB-70 aircraft in prototype markings for AV/1 and AV/2.
    B-70A aircraft in 28BMS and 62BMS markings
    RS-70B aircraft in 337BMS markings
    B-70C aircraft in 9BS markings
High Resolution versions of the textures and bump maps
    Original Readmes
    This readme

    Notes:

This release is a beta, and as such, is somewhat incomplete. The cockpit is from the B-1B, and there are no damage textures. However, almost all other features of a full release have been included.

    Aircraft include:

XB-70 - The original research aircraft in it's actual configuration...not really set up for warfighting.

However, this set also includes semi fictional versions of operational aircraft:

B-70A - This is most probable version of the Valkyrie that would exist had it gone into production. It is done in 2 paint schemes, the high altitude anti-flash white, and a version painted in an odd silver coating designed to reduce the IR signature (as proposed by the USAF). This version also includes the wing pylons for the Skybolt ALBM, and projected pylons for the smaller nuclear gravity weapons available at the time.

RS-70B - Proposed version of the Valkyrie in an attempt to save it from the budget axe. Similiar to the B-70A in capability, but with additional reconnaissance ability similiar to SR-71. This is simulated by an internal camera window taking the location of the forward weapons bay. I projected that the RS-70B would come into existence during the late part of the Vietnam war, using the camera bay to carry the targeting laser, and dropping PGMs since conventional bombing at 80000 feet and Mach 3 would be very inaccurate. As a result, the first LGB drops in Vietnam are done by the RS-70B, not the F-4.

B-70C - Completely fictional version of the Valkyrie. In the history where the Valkyrie was produced, most of the B-52 fleet was retired very soon after the Vietnam War, only the G and H models remained to carry the AGM-86B cruise missile. The B-1 was never proposed, with the B-70A being the main gravity nuke delivery system and the RS-70B being the PGM bomber. The F-111 and FB-111 remained as the medium range, low altitude conventional and nuclear penetrator. The B-2 was designed at the outset to be a low altitude penetrator, avoiding the costly redesign the actual B-2 went through, bringing unit cost down. As it was, the B-70 and RS-70 were expected to be retired at the beginning of the 1990s as high altitude, high speed SAM systems became more and more lethal. However, after Desert Storm, the lesson was learned that big, long range SAM systems are vulnerable and expensive, but anyone can have AAA...so the doctrine was adjusted for more medium/high altitude operations with PGMs. So all Valkyries underwent a modernization to the B-70C standard, with the ability to carry all PGMs, including the JDAM, JSOW, JASSM for employment in regional conflicts.

There are a few bugs that we haven't been able to solve and may not be solvable due to simulation limitations. The main one is the AI will not take advantage of the high speed and altitude capabilities of the aircraft. Even if you create an actual mission with waypoints dictating altitudes and speeds, it will not fly those parameters (tends to fly a maximum of Mach 1.7). We are still working to squash the remaining issues...and one day we will have a proper cockpit for this machine.

This is a long range aircraft, you can hit a few of the 'walls' on several of the stock maps so give yourself plenty of turning room when planning your flight.

Have fun...report any crippling bugs (except trying to use it in SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI...you're on your own) in the release thread at CA.

  3. A/F-24 Shadowcat

A/F-24 Shadowcat (AFX) for Strike Fighters 2

    ----------------------------------------------
    Preface:

After making the first attempt at modelling this concept, which ended up as the not-very-accurate F-24 Shadowcat for WOI, I decided to go back and, armed with a lot more research material and better workflow, redo the entire thing from the ground up as accurate as is possible with unbuilt concepts. It originally was to feature a new cockpit based on that of the A-12 Avenger II, but this turned out to look quite ugly ingame. I eventually found out that the real thing was to use cockpit displays from the F-22 for sakes of commonality, so I decided I might as well build a straight-down navalized F-22 cockpit for which a whole lot more reference material is available.

    ----------------------------------------------
    Known Issues:

The cockpit isn't 100% complete. I thought it was better to release something that's 99% complete and fix it later which I will as it was always part of the plan to adapt the cockpit back into a straight F-22 pit.

For some reason all of your wingmen except #2 will tip over and crash on the taxiway. No idea why this happens. They all start fine from the carrier though.

  6. F-16XL for SF2 – F-16E Blk 62 Fighting Falcon

    F-16XL for SF2 – F-16E Blk 62 Fighting Falcon 2.1

In March 1981, the USAF announced the Enhanced Tactical Fighter (ETF) program to procure a replacement for the F-111. The program was later renamed the Dual-Role Fighter (DRF) competition. The concept envisioned an aircraft capable of launching deep air interdiction missions without requiring additional support by fighter escort or jamming. General Dynamics submitted the F-16XL, while McDonnell Douglas submitted the F-15E.
As we all know the F-15E was chosen... BUT what if the F-16XL had been chosen instead?
And so I give you the F-16E/F Block 62 Fighting Falcon.
The designation F-16E/F Block 60/62 would have been used had the XL been selected (The F-16E/F Desert Falcon as we know it today wasn't even on the drawing board in the late 80's).

    Included in this mod are:
    - F-16E (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon
    - F-16EM (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon (CUPID mods)
    - F-16EV (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon (AN/APG-83 AESA radar upgrade)
    - 8 different USAF squadrons.

To Install simply un pack and drop into your mods folder.

    Notes:
    - The weapon stations are quite complicated due to the set up on the real aircraft itself and the limitations in SF2 with the maximum amount of hard-points etc. As such it is best to use the default load out from the loadout.ini. That being said if you do want to change it at the loadout screen you need to follow these rules: If the default loadout uses rail launched weapons (Aim-9/120, AGM-65/88) under the inner wings, only change it for another rail launched weapon and vice-versa. This is because the weapon rails are loaded as an EP class weapon that doesn't show up at the loadout screen.
    - The default 'Attack' loadout is designed for the mass anti-armour mission as that is the kind of CAS mission SF2 generates. However in the loadout.ini file under each 'attack' loadout entry is a CAS loadout option with LGB etc.
    - There are a ton of different loadout options in the loadout.ini file so check them out with the single mission editor.
    - Loadouts are based on the F-16C Blk 40/42 but with an F-15E Strike Eagle flavor e.g. AGM-130
    - Shadows are deactivated as 'tractor beams' are an issue as it is an older .lod
    2.1 Changes:
    - Added missing 20mm M61A1 Vulcan (PGU-28) to 'Guns' folder. PGU-28 loads generally don't have tracers.
    2.0 Changes:
    - F-16EV (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon added.
    - Loadout.ini and weapon station fixes.
    - Cockpits changed to Block 42 type with WAR hud as LANTIRN would have been fully integrated on the jet.
    - Ferris test skin added for F-16E (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon.
    - Canopy RCS reducing tinting added as per F-16C/CM Block 40/42.
    - Semi- conformal AIM-120 station position and angles corrected.
    - Internal ECM changed to AN/ALQ-165 Airborne Self-Protection Jammer (ASPJ) as was planned for production aircraft.

Released under the CA fair use agreement.

  8. Convair Model 201 Shipboard Fighter

Convair Model 201 for Strike Fighters 2

    ----------------------------------------------
    What this is :

This is the CTOL version of Convair's Model 200 VSTOL entry for the Sea Control Ship fighter competition of the early 70's. It also reappeared later as GD Model 218 during the VFAX competition which ultimately ended up as the F-18.

There are quite a number of artist's impressions and 3-view floating around, of which most ones show a more pointy delta planform and underwing Sidewinders. That would be the earlier iterations, which by 1975 or so would have evolved into what you see here.

The original documentation only mentions 2 AIM-9 + 2 AIM-7 but I added 2 underwing and a centerline station because it makes the plane a bit more fun to use and isn't totally implausible.

    ----------------------------------------------
    More Stuff:

It uses sounds from SF2E so your mileage may vary :o

    Known Issues:

    None, really.

  10. F-20A/F-20B Tigershark ReMod Pak

    F-20A/F-20B Tigershark ReMod Pak

=For SF2, Any and All (but Full 4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED!!)

    - A "What If..." Aircraft Mod -

*Full 4/5 Merged reccomended, as the RAF skin make use of the stock 3W F-4M serial number and plane-in-group letters. You =MUST= have, at least, SF2:E as part of you game installs. If not, you'll have to find substitute decals for the RAF skins*

This is a re-release of Veltro2k's F-20 Tigersharks. This pak contains 2 complete aircraft, the single-seat F-20A and the 2-seat F-20B. Both are fully combat capable, however certain mission tasking is NOT assigned to the F-20B, due to hardpoint limitations, and the lack of an internal ECM suite (no jammer; chaff & flares included at no extra cost).

Skin/Decals included in this pack are (names in paranthesis are the actual folder names):

    F-20A:
2 Tone Blue/Gray (2Tone - nation tagged as 'generic' -would be a good HAF skin!)
Air Superiority Gray (Gray - nation tagged as 'generic')
    10th TFS, 50th TFW (Gray2)
1 Hikotai, JASDF Martime Blue (JASDF)
    57th FW, Nellis AFB (Nellis)
    ROCAF Gray (ROCAF)
92 Sqdn, RAF overall Gray (RAF)
92 Sqdn, RAF Grey Green (RAF1)
92 Sqdn, RAF Grey Green 2 (RAF2) -loviz markings
    75 Sqdn RNZAF (RNZAF)
    ROCAF Gray -no squadron- (ROCAF)
    RSAF - Saudi Arabia (RSAF)
110th FS, 131st FW, MO ANG "Lindberg's Own" (MOANG)
114th FS, 173rd FW OR ANG (ORANG)
119th FW, ND ANG "Happy Hooligans" (NDANG)
    159th FIS, FL ANG (FLANG)
Football City Air Force (FBCAF -from "The Wingman" series)

    F-20B:
    57th FW, Nellis AFB (Gray)
56th FW, Luke AFB 2 Tone (USAF)

Decal randomization is set to TRUE for all. Skin templates for BOTH aircraft are included, as are several decal templates. Skinners/decalers are ENCOURAGED! to create other users/markings/etc. Damage textures are in DDS format.
Unfortunately, the archived zip file for the original skin/ini mods was corrupted, and I was unable to retreive all the information from it about them.

    When 'in game', you'll see

    F-20A TigerShark (v2k)

    F-20B TigerShark (v2k)

displayed on the aircraft selection drop-down window. This will differentiate these aircraft from any other Tigersharks that may exist.

No weapons are included, as it references (for the most part) stock items or those from the GunnyPak, or other aircraft mods (in particular, the JASDF EO bomb), but sounds are. The spine antenna & intake "thingy" created by Raven is included, along with the FakePilot needed to "attach" it to the F-20A.
The loadout ini makes use of nation-specific and start-year specific loadouts. Some even actually work as advertised. The included Userlists are correct; the countries listed were those that actually considered the Tigershark at one time.
The canopy operates via the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0. The FM remains essentially the same, and REALLY needs MAJOR fine tuning by an Expert! (no, seriously! it can be a bit squirrelly at times)

This is a VERY large package (771 MG unzipped), as all the skins remain in their 2048x2048 bmp format (approx 12megs per map!). You can, of course, convert to jpg at your leisure. It's sorta suggested, ya know!?, for those with limited HD space.
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, the Legal Statement has been changed with regards to these aircraft.
For those that still have the original releases, you need not redownload this pak; you should have everything within it already. But if you want too ... feel free to do so! :). There HAVE been several changes in several of the inis you may wish to examine, and add.

**These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created**.

    Good Hunting, and Happy Landings!!
    wrench
    kevin stein

ps: the screenies are from the original release, and do not reflect the addition of the ADF blade antenna. Also, not all the included are displayed. The others are inside the zip.

  12. SF2 F-19 "Ghostrider" (aka Flying Frisbee) Upgrade Pak

F-19 "Ghostrider" (aka "Flying Frisbee) Upgrade Pak for SF2

    REQUIRES a Full-4 Merged, -or at minimum- SF2:E and/or SF2:I

Warning/Disclaimer: As stated above, this is designed for a Full-4 Merged install of SF2. This is because I made use of MANY stock items, in particular the cockpit from the F-15A in SF2:E. You may be able to use the F-15A Baz from SF2:I as they use the same cockpit lods; this has =NOT= been tested, as I have a Full-4 Merged, and it accesses pretty much everything. You are encourged to test this on your own. As the avionics/cockpit inis are supplied, all you need is the cockpit LOD they're pointing to (and, of course, all the bmps/tgas for the interior bits and HUD/Radars, which are stored in the various ObjectData cats.)

    -------------------

This is an upgrade/modification of Julhelm's F-19 "Ghostrider" Stealth Strike Fighter. It has gone through several tweeks to enhance weapons carriage, weapons types, some minor reskinning and the addition of new serial number decals. 50 serial Decals are supplied, for both skins (ie: the same ones used twice, but the 9th TFS has been repainted a darker gray to match the original lettering, and it also gets a new tail code decal). Lighting has been enhanced, with the addition of landing lights, 'rotary' strobe beacons and the missing tail lights re-added. Additional armor protection has been added to 'vital' areas. Engine sounds have been enhanced by (re)using the F-15 engine sounds from the F-15 Super Pak. A revamped, SF2-style version of my original 'artwork'hangar screen is included, as well as new paint chips with the 2 squadron patchs for skin selection.

No changes have been effected to the Flight Model or RCS modifiers. As much as possible, I've tried to stick with 'stock' weapons, but it =IS= reccomended that you have Gunny's Ordanance Shop installed for the Mavericks and the late-model LGBs & CBUs. These weapons are =NOT= included!! A-A loadouts are restricted to IRMs =ONLY= (as stated in "Red Storm Rising"). See "Notes" below for more on weapons. Other targeting enhancments include the addition of a permanant on-board laser designator and Electo-Optical viewer (read: FLIR/LLTV). The auto-speed canopy has been changed to a manual animation key, use shift/0 to open and close it. A seat has been added for the pilot to 'park it' on.

As always, fully detailed install instruction are below. And, as always, it's suggested you read them through before installing this mod.

  13. F-107 Ultra Sabre for SF2/V/E

    F-107 Version 2.0

    Thanks to the following folks:

TK - For the ThirdWire series of sims.
Bunyap - The original modder who created the F-107 MAX file and released it to Dave.
Dave - For providing the original model to me, decals, texture updates, loading screens
    Klavs81 - Original textures
dwcace - For providing me with additional reference material
    EricJ - F-107C textures
    Gerwin - F-16 decals
    BPao,MoonJumper,Swede,Wpnssgt - F-16 cockpit, avionics
To my fellow Combatace moderators - For helping me beta test and work out bugs.
Any errors or mistakes are entirely mine.

    What you will need first:

    For the F-107A:

Strike Fighters 2/Vietnam/Europe - One of these are needed to provide the wing fuel tanks, some decals, and an F-105 cockpit.

(Optional) Strike Fighters Project 1/Strike Fighters Gold/Wings Over Vietnam/Wings Over Europe to provide the F-104 cockpit.

The F-107A will currently not work properly with Strike Fighters 2:Israel or Wings Over Israel (13 Jan 10) due to lack of a compatible cockpit, some decals, visual effects, sounds, ejection seat and fuel tanks from the F-100D.

    For the F-107C:

Strike Fighters 2/Vietnam/Europe/Israel patched to Dec 2009.

    Aircraft Information (F-107A):

    From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_F-107

The North American F-107, nicknamed "Ultra Sabre", was North American Aviation's entry for a United States Air Force tactical fighter-bomber design competition of the 1950s. The F-107 incorporated many innovations and radical design features, and was based on the F-100 Super Sabre. The competition was eventually won by the F-105 Thunderchief, and the F-107 prototypes ended their lives as test aircraft.

The F-107A was originally designed as a tactical fighter-bomber version of the F-100, and was entered into a competition sponsored by the Air Force. Originally designated F-100B, the aircraft featured a recessed weapons bay under the fuselage, as well as an all-moving vertical fin and a control system which permitted the plane to roll at supersonic speeds.

The aircraft's most distinguishing feature is its Variable Area Inlet Duct, mounted in an unconventional position directly above and just behind the cockpit, which automatically controlled the amount of air fed to the jet engine. The air intake was moved from the chin position (an arrangement later adopted for the F-16) to the unusual dorsal location as the USAF had required the carriage of an underbelly semi-conformal nuclear weapon. The original chin intake caused a shockwave that interferred in launching this weapon. The implications this had for the survivability of the pilot during ejection were troubling. It also severely limited view to the rear, although this was not considered terribly important for a bomber aircraft, it is notable during an era when it was assumed air combat would be via guided missile exchanges outside visual range.

Extensive design changes resulted in its redesignation from F-100B to F-107A before the first prototype flew.

The F-107 was never given an official name, but was sometimes informally called the "Ultra Sabre," referring to North American's earlier fighter designs, the F-86 Sabre and the F-100 Super Sabre. The flight crews referred to it as the "Man Eater," in reference to the position of the air intake directly above the cockpit.

The designation "F-107A" was the only one assigned to the aircraft, though "YF-107A" is often used in publications.

    (F-107C):

The F-107A had been chosen for development vs the F-105 and had started to be used extensively in Vietnam in 1967.

Israel does not do the preemptive strike as originally planned in 1967, and therefore what would have been the SiX-Day War instead draws out into a much bloodier conflict.

During that conflict, a nuclear weapon is detonated, touching off a small exchange of nuclear weapons, contained within the middle east area.

As a result, most of the oil fields are contaiminated, and the global economy suffers a depression as a result.

The US government is unable to generate the revenue needed to fully fund the F-14/F-15/F-16 programs. Instead, it invests in technological and engine improvements to existing designs, resulting in the F-107C instead of the LWF program, with the F100 engine, a new canopy and avionics.

    Notes and Limitations:

Part of the SWOTUSAF series of aircraft.

Because the real aircraft never proceeded beyond the prototype stage, loadouts, mission capabilities and operational paint schemes are projections only.

3 skins are provided for the F-107A the original prototype scheme, a natural metal scheme, and a Vietnam era scheme. An F-16 style scheme was designed for the F-107C.

Because this aircraft was in competition with the F-105, we projected that it would have taken over the Thud's role in Vietnam, in addition to the air superiority/interceptor role the original F-100 was designed for. So loadouts reflect this.

The aircraft refers to some decals, visual effects, sounds, ejection seat and fuel tanks from the F-100D. The cockpit is based on a single engine fighter with a radar using the J75...either the F-104 or F-105 works fine...it defaults to the F-105 cockpit. You will have to install any other cockpit yourself.

The FM is mainly based on the F-100D, and so shares that FMs limitations. The real test article reached 2.35 Mach...this model has gone up to 2.2 Mach in level flight.

Animations for the canopy and air refueling probe use Animation control keys 1 and 2. Check your Controls page to figure out what keys you need to hit.

  17. MQ-10A Kodiak

    MQ-10A Kodiak – Release Version 4.0

Welcome to the Kodiak release version 4.0. This plane was conceived out of my need to find something to effectively kick-start my creative juices and prime me mentally to tackle a few of my languishing projects.

The MQ-10A is obviously a fictitious UAV on steroids. I best described it once as the unholy union of an A-10 and a Predator drone. It’s capable of carrying pretty much everything and oh, did I mention it VTOLS? Yeah, I wet myself a little too...

Please fly it, enjoy it for what it is and go blow some crap up…

    NOTES:

    1. Engine nacelles are rotated via what ever you have mapped for VTOL. Max VTOL weight is around 47,000
    2. Do not be bashful in criticism or critique.
    3. Installation is easy… decompress and cut/paste it in your aircraft folder. It has been tested on all version 2 games but should work in version 1 as well.

    CHANGE LOG / FIXES:

    1. The weird porpoises issue has been fixed. The Kodiak is again a rock-sold weapon platform.
    2. Right, wrong, or indifferent, I’ve settled on a very basic if not extremely functional projected cockpit format.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS:

    1. I pilfered the HUD stuff from Fastcargo’s F-35 bird.
    2. I pilfered FM tidbits from a lot of different birds. ** Once I finalize on what will be enclosed in the final product I will include full and complete disclosure.
    3. It includes a default Olive Drab scheme and all layered paintshop pro templates to assist in the creation of more.

  20. Republic F-103A Thunderwarrior

    Republic F-103A Thunderwarrior by FastCargo

    ********************** Version 1.0 (Initial Release) ***********************

SF2 Version for Jan 2011 Patch and later.

    Aircraft Model - FastCargo
    Aircraft Textures/Templates - EricJ
    Decals - Wrench
F-106 Cockpit - Kesselbut from Pasko F-106 package
Some textures and FM work - FastCargo

    Any errors are mine...

    Information on XF-103:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_XF-103

The Republic XF-103 Thunderwarrior was an American project to develop a high speed interceptor aircraft to destroy Soviet bombers. Despite a prolonged development, it never progressed past the mock-up stage.

In 1949, the USAF issued a request for an advanced supersonic interceptor to equip the Air Defense Command. Known formally as Weapon System WS-201A, but better known informally as the "1954 Interceptor", it called for a supersonic aircraft with all-weather capability, intercept radar and air-to-air missile armament. Republic was one of six companies to submit proposals. On 2 July 1951, three of the designs were selected for further development, Convair's scaled-up XF-92 that evolved into the F-102 Delta Dagger, a Lockheed design that led to the F-104 Starfighter, and Republic's AP-57. AP-57 was an advanced concept to be built almost entirely of titanium and capable of Mach 3 at altitudes of at least 60,000 ft (24,400 m).

A full-scale mock-up of the AP-57 was built and inspected in March 1953. A contract for three prototypes followed in June 1954. Work on the prototypes was delayed by continued problems with the titanium construction, and more notably by continued problems with the proposed Wright J67 engine. The contract was later reduced to a single prototype. In the end, the J67 never entered production and the aircraft it had been chosen for were forced to turn to other engine designs, or were cancelled outright. Republic suggested replacing the J67 with the Wright J65, a much less powerful engine. The project was eventually cancelled on 21 August 1957 with no flying prototypes ever being completed.

The design was given a brief reprieve as part of the Long-Range Interceptor - Experimental (LRI-X) project that led to the XF-108 Rapier. Part of this project was the development of the advanced Hughes AN/ASG-18 pulse-doppler radar and the GAR-9 missile. Republic proposed adapting the F-103 as a testbed for these systems, although it wouldn't be able to come close to meeting the range requirements of LRI-X. Some work was carried out adapting the mockup to house the 40 inch antenna, which required the nose section to be scaled up considerably. Nothing ever came of the proposal, and testing of the ASG-18/GAR-9 was carried out on a modified B-58 Hustler instead.

    Information on F-103A (this release):

This aircraft is based on heavily on the mockup at the time of cancellation, with 6 of the smaller AIM-4 Falcons and 36 FFAR rockets.

Performance is based on reasonable speculations and closely matches what was in the offical USAF proposed Standard Aircraft Characteristics document.

Some specific things to note include -

This is a point interceptor...designed to give you enough gas for maybe two passes at bomber type targets. It is recommended to be between 250 and 500 knots indicated for your attacks, as your FFARs and AIM-4s will tend to aim exactly at what the nose is pointing at within those speeds (this includes the AI).

To activate the front 'viewport', cycle through your radar modes...be advised while you are using the 'viewport', the radar will not work.

To extend the periscope on the external model, use the 'Arresting Hook' key.

The front missile bays are automatic, the rear missile bays/FFAR pods are manual...you must open them with the 'Bomb Bay' key before you can fire either the rear missiles or FFARs.

This model uses the newest ThirdWire exporter, and as such, the LOD files (except for the lowest 2) are not compatible with any version of the sim older than Jan 2011 (Exp 2 with the Jan 2011 patch). You have been warned...

This will be a difficult aircraft to fly and be successful on a regular basis in 'Hard' mode. If you want an air-to-air challenge, this aircraft will give you one.

Good luck and report any 'serious' issues (ie game crashing or grevious errors) to me at CombatAce.

  22. Yak-141 for SF2

Hi, this is my adapt for the Yak-141, i just put things together and made it to work in SF2 standard, everything has been made to put it in the respective mod folders, if you are prompted to overwrite, please do so, the only part you need to work with, goes to the Soundlist.ini which you need to extract and place it in the flight folder, and add the following lines:

SoundFileXXX=GSh301................ XXX standing as the next number in the sounds sequence.

    [GSh301]
    Priority=NORMAL
    Looped=TRUE
    NumBuffers=4
    3DSound=TRUE
    DopplerEffect=FALSE
    MaxDist=1000.000000
    MinDist=50.000000
    InsideConeAngle=360
    OutsideConeAngle=360
ConeOutsideVolume=0..............this goes at the very bottom
    of the sounds list.

I used a modified Su-27 Flanker cockpit, since it`s the closest one to the real plane, based in pics i found, also the avionics are more modern, just to think as a what if this plane would have entered in service, she would be active as of today.

    VTOL Operation Checklist:

    1) BE SMOOTH AT ALL TIMES....Deploy air brakes (required to raise forward lift engine intake screen)

    2) Set flaps to full

    3) Set nozzles to full down position

    4) Release wheel brakes

    5) Apply throttle SMOOTHLY. You will start lifting at approx. 87% throttle. Under no circumstances should you apply more than 89% throttle when in VTOL mode, or you will loose control when the AB kicks in.

    6) As you're gaining altitude, dip the nose forward slightly while still in VTOL mode to gain forward momentum.

    7) Raise the landing gear, and begin swiveling the nozzles back (as smoothly as possible), as you gain forward speed.

    8) Retract the air brake/intake screen as you pass 80 knots, raise the flaps all the way at 170 knots,

    9) Did I remind you to be smooth as often as I should have? : )

    10) Practice makes perfect!

This mod is uploaded using the Freeware Licensing Terms by the Forum, but i want to thank to the following individuals:

-Gabilon, the creator of this beautiful plane.
-Oliver, BPAO Anguille for the Cockpit (thanks wherever you are)
-Lindr2, who tweaked the cockpit in his MiG-29 beta release.
-The Trooper, for the fabulous pilot.
-Fubar512 who made some modifications to the FM, and they are noted in this read me.
-Deuces, for the MiG Afterburner effects and fuselage vapor effect.

If i forget someone here, pelase let me know and i will credit you, my apologies in advance.

I hope you enjoy this mod and if you have any questions, don´t doubt to ask me here in the forum, or via PM.

  24. A-16A 'Attack Falcon'

    A-16A 'Attack Falcon'

    -- For SF2, Full-4 Merged (Prefered) and/or SF2:I ONLY!!! --

As stated above, you =MUST= have a Full-4 Merged install, or at the VERY LEAST SF2:I to make use of this mod package, as it references all stock items for the aircraft and cockpit lods that are ONLY found in SF2:I or Full-4 Merged game installs. If you have neither of these, don't download this, as you'll not be able to use it.

This is a modification of the F-16 Netz into the proposed A-16A 'Attack Falcon', a specalized ground support aircraft intended to replace the A-10 Thunderbolt II. Those wishing more infromation on it, are encouraged to Google it, and also look at F-16.net.

The aircraft has been completely reskinned in 3-tone Euro 1, from a new home-grown template. Markings represent those based a Nellis AFB, Nevada (for weapons testing and integration). All basic inis, skins and decals are included, as is new green painted version of the AIM-9P Sidwinder (just for this mod/skin pak). All markings are decals, with the exception of the Nellis tail stripe. Serial numbers are spurious; taken from another source.

In the Loadout ini, several alternate loadouts are listed. These can be accessed from the 3rdWire mission editor screen (for post-Expansion Pak 2 users). With the exception of the green 9P winder, all loadouts use stock items.

As always, =READ= the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs/requires/should have, to make it a LOT easier to install. Also, as usual, the expected 'Notes and Other Nonesense' comments by me. Any and all inaccuracies are mine, as we only have the Netz to work from

  25. A-12 'Avenger II' by Rhugouvi (for SF2)

    A-12 'Avenger II' by Rhugouvi
    =For SF2, Full-4 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred)

This is an upgrade package for the Beta A-12 that's been around for several years, with tweeks to bring it more in line with SF2.

This package contains 2 skins for the A-12, one each for Atlantic & Pacific Fleets (cause I don't want to show favoritism either way). They are:

    VFA-105 "Gunslingers"
VFA-192 "Golden Dragons" (The World Famous Golden Dragons)

    All markings are decals.

As this is a Low-Observabale Strike aircraft, with a secondary CAP role, there is no internal gun. However, for those mission profiles that don't require the greatest of stealth (CAS/Armed Recon, Anti-ship & CAP), a 'mission specific' gunpod is included/available with a 30mm GAU-13 cannon, similiar to how it's done for the F-35 JSF. It's suggested you have the GunnyPak installed for the various modern/post-modern prescision strike munitions.

All the sounds are also provided, as are new SF2 style hangar and loading screens. The wingfold works (use the Shift/9 key), but the canopy does not. Running light positions have been adjusted, and they follow the wings when folding.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... There are 'Operational Usage Helps' that might be quite usefull in a pinch. Rhugouvi's original readme is also included (in French). With thanks to TMF via Sony Tuckson for use of the F/A-18 Hornet cockpit & avionics.

    Happy Landings!
