      F - 2350L
      PF - 2850L
      PFM - 2675L
      MF - 2675L
      BIS - 2900L

      Changed all additional files with Mig21_ prefix so all are unique now and
      not interfere with other mods.
      F version now have true ranging-only radar. It can be still turned off by
      Ctrl+PgDn. In current game engine this radar starts on.
      Added KV1 seat to all MF and Bis variants. Deleted old seat from model.
      Added SF2 Mig variants. Changed FMs little bit based on Fubar512 values on
      alpha stall to make Migs usable in knife fight. It not bleeds speed in sharp
      high AOA turns so much. Added vetral fin from Fubar512 FM.
      Added aditional SF2 stuff (radar, rwr) into fm dats.
      1.1 01.10.2009
      Fixed afterburner burner texture always on.
      Copied additional fuel flow settings from SF2 game dats
      Added Flight\VIEWLIST.INI file vith custom and more consistent FOV settings
      for normal/padlock/snap view transitions.
      1.2 04.10.2009
      Fixed reversed nose gear rotation.
      Fixed start dates for squadrons in campaigns.
      1.3 04.07.2010
      Fixed missing AB Flame effect with DX10 shaders (missing shader fx entry).
      Fixed cockpit positions for more realistic out of cockpit view of wings.
      Changed PFV radar to R2L version (made it slightly more powerful).
      Consolidated and joined all game versions Mig-21s into one pack.
      Removed Flight\VIEWLIST.INI and modded Europe campaign files.
      1.4 05.07.2010
      Added KM1 ejection seat to PFM as all side opening canopy models have KM1
      seat and all front opening canopy models have SK seat.
      Added 50mil depression for AG bomb sight for F, FM and Bis variants.
      Added gunsight to PM and PFM to be able to aim ground weapons.
      Added AG mode gunsight to all variants.
      For F, MF and Bis values are:
      AG gun depression 10mil
      Rockets depression 35mil
      Bombs depression 50mil
      For PM, PFM and PFV values are:
      AG gun depression 10mil
      Rockets depression 35mil
      Bombs depression 35mil
      Try fire rocket in shallow dive with AOA around 0 deg. Depression values
      are always compromise without CCIP. Just train well.
      1.5 14.07.2010
      Removed empty windloop.wav - its up to you how you mod it, if at all.
      Added radar guided air to air missile capability to all variants from PF up.
      Added semiactive radar guided RS-2US from SF2 weapon pack as all variants from
      PF and up can carry it.
      1.6 31.07.2010
      Removed mirrors from PFM cockpit. PFM does not have top one and even side ones
      to my best knowledge.
      1.7 15.08.2010
      Big thanks to Paladrian all pits are now fixed for DX9 and shaders disabled
      installs. No more white parts in cockpit on Win XP.
      1.8 30.03.2014
      Sight and modified RP-21 radar image from lukasn22 MiG-21MF cockpit retexture
      for MF and Bis. Made Bis engine R-25 same as R-13. Original R-25 had bad
      looping and i do not like it.
      Fixed centerline station system from left wing to fuselage for PF and PFV.
      Added loadable GP-9 gun pod for PF, PFV and PFM.
      This pack inludes nearly all official Thirdwire MIG-21 models as flyable jets with
      cokcpits in most complete form what my modding knowledge allows. All in easy
      install form. I am not author of any 3d pits, FMs, sounds. All is what i
      downloaded from Combatace or made by Thirdwire. I want to thank to original authors
      of included files and this nice sim. Hope it is ok to reuse their work to
      provide really complete, up-to-date and easy to install Mig-21 package. I was
      always sad with that great pits available and terrible way to install it into
      latest ptached games and it is always missed something. Loading screens, loadout
      picture, good FM and so on... Now with latest patches FMs are usable and nicely
      flyable so i used it as base FMs for pack.
      This pack was done with combined/merged SF2/Europe/Vietnam/Israel games.
      If your single game install missing model that cause problem, just delete its directory
      in Objects/Aircraft folder. Probablby PFV is included only in Vietnam.
      Pack contains folowing stuff:
      *****************************
      Nearly every official MIG-21 flyable with pit for SF2 line of games. I corrected
      some errors in pits, Used latest TW patches as base for FM fat files
      with tweaks in engine (thrust for each model, spool up time, radar, weight). FM
      is not touched and i think it flies now ok with latest patch. Diferent sounds for
      each engine model is included with Mig RWR sounds. Better Mig pilots too. Each
      Mig-21 has loading and hangar screen and camouflage sample patch with loadout
      picture. All includes corresponding serial numbers to choose from. I made
      Numbers.lst for Arab, Czechoslovakia, East Germany and Poland by hand.
      Strike Fighters 2
      MIG-21F
      MIG-21PF
      MIG-21PFV
      MIG-21PFM
      MIG-21MF
      MIG-21bis
      Notes:
      ******
      MIG-PFM has added LCOS gunsight to be able to use gunpod in fight. More realistic and
      distictive heaters sounds are included too.

      Instalation:
      ************
      Simply unpack content of folder "StrikeFighters2" into each your SF2 game mods folder
      located in your c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\.
      For example for complete/merged game install, copy content to each this folder:
      c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2
      c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Europe
      c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Israel
      c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Vietnam
      Sure paths can be different on your system. This is how it is on my Windows 7.
      Also copy files after you run all games at least once. Otherwise game overwrite
      modded files with original ones at initialization and you dont see Migs as flyable.
      Optional files:
      Simply unpack content of folder "StrikeFighters2" into each your SF2 game mods folder and
      allow overwrite files.
      _BetterCockpits Contains hires cockpit textures.
      _EasyFM Contains easiest FM files from stock game.
      _MediumFM Contains intermadiate FM files. Spins are more frequent.
      _HardFM Contains hardcore FM files. Spins are almost deadly if not handled fast.
      _PFGunPodLoadout Contains gunpod default loadout for air to air PF and PFV.
      _ResetInis Contains ini files that are reset to default non flyable ones after game update or DLC install.
      Just use it to make Migs flyable quickly again
      Afterword:
      **********
      This version of complete MIG-21 pack is far from to be perfect or complete so feel
      free to let me know if there is something missed, bad or not working. Also if
      someone has some more accurate tech data for enhance FMs feel free to mail me and
      pack get fixed or updated.
      Finaly thanks to everyone whom work made this pack reality.

    2. SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 1

      SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 1

      This mod supplies a collection of MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers, created by ArmourDave and The Mirage Factory, and heavily modded by Lindr2 for SFP1. (These are not mods of the 3rdWire Floggers supplied in the SF2 titles.) All have been converted and updated to SF2 standards. Also included with this mod are all the weapons, sounds, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft supplied with this mod.

      This mod consists of three parts:

      Part 1: 1st Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23S, Mig-23M, MiG-23ME, MiG-23MF,
      MiG-23MF, MiG-23UB)

      Part 2: 2nd Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23ML, MiG-23MLA, MiG-23MLAE, MiG-23P,
      MiG-23PD, MiG-23-98, MiG-23UM)

      Part 3: Ground Attack MiG-23s (MiG-23B, MiG-23BN) & MiG-27s (MiG-27,
      MiG-27D, MiG-27K, MiG-27M, MiG-27ML)

      Each of the three parts includes all the decals, pilots, sounds, effects that you will need for the aircraft in that part. The WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THE 2ND PART, which means that you MUST DOWNLOAD THE 2ND PART TO GET THE WEAPONS.

      These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, or SF2I. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~

      Please note that installation of these aircraft will overwrite & replace the default 3rdWire versions included in the various SF2 titles. I recommend that you first REMOVE the 3rdWire MiG-23 and MiG-27 versions - even if you haven't modded them -- before installing these alternate versions.

      To install, simply drag the following folders to your SF2 Mods Folder (NOT the folder that the game installs to):

      \Effects
      \Flight
      \Objects
      \Sounds

      By default your Mod Folder should be located here:

      Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\

      ...where [username] is the account you log into within Windows and [Game] is the name of the particular game mod folder that you're moving the files to.

      If the aircraft are not showing up in your Single Mission Aircraft menu, then you didn't install all the bits correctly. And remember, the WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THE 2ND PART, which means that you MUST DOWNLOAD THE 2ND PART TO GET THE WEAPONS.

      A Few Notes About This Mod
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Those familiar with Lindr2's Flogger packages for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated mod builds on his earlier efforts. Although I have largely followed Lindr2's lead in assembling this package, there are some noteworthy differences between his SFP1 collections and this one:
      1) Different Engine Sounds & Afterburner TGAs
      I have used different engine sounds and afterburner TGAs to give the various engines used by different models distinct sounds and appearances.
      2) NATO Code Names
      The aircraft names do include the NATO code names, whereas Lindr2's SFP1 versions did not use them at all. Also, the Air-to-Air weapons use both NATO and Soviet names/designations (e.g., "R-73 AA-11 Archer").
      3) Wider range of Skins/Nations
      You will find a wider range of skins used to represent more nations, drawing on the various one-off skins that have been released by other modders.
      This package largely consists of work done by others and released previously in other packages. All I did was assemble the package, update the bits to SF2 standards, and make minor adjustments and tweaks here and there (discussed above).
    3. SF2 MiG-23MF fighter- Cockpit, working Mig-23MF HUD, and aircraft
      Included is the fully working MiG-23MF 'Flogger-B', cockpit and working Mig-23MF HUD cockpit converted to SFP2.
      This MiG-23MF swing wing fighter saw much combat and claimed multiple kills over the years. The Mig-23/Mig-27 was the most important Soviet fighter type from the mid-to-late 1970s. It was designed to replace the famous MiG-21.
      The MiG-23MF was a first generation MiG-23 and was not designed for close-in maneuvering. This would come with the later second generation MiG-23ML ("L"  for lightweight).  However, the MiG-23MF was still formidable if used as a hit and run fighter.
      Short takeoff and landing was a major consideration in the case of a NATO vs WARSAW Pact confrontation. Also, the Mig-23 was designed to be able to be able to accept or decline combat against western fighters using hit and run tactics- maneuverability being a secondary consideration. As a result, it was designed to be faster in speed, faster accelerating and faster climbing than most western fighters...in which it mostly suceeded. It was much faster climbing than the F-4 Phantom with a reported initial climb rate of 45,000+ feet per minute.
      However, it reportedly had an even higher wing loading than the Phantom of about 94/lbs per sq feet at normal takeoff weight and normal wing sweep. One of the contributing results was reportedly a very poor instantaneous turn rate of 11.5 degrees per second at Mach .9 at 15,093 feet and 8.6 degrees per second at Mach .5 at 15,093 feet (Mike Spick-Illustrated Directory of Fighters). The Mig-21 reportedly had a much better maximum instantaneous turn rate of around 18.9 deg/sec. in some configurations. Although a lot of factors are involved in instantaneous turn rates, it does give a general idea.
      It equipped more Soviet fighter and attack regiments than any other Soviet fighter then in service in the 1970s. Over a thousand were estimated to be confronting NATO from both Soviet and WARSAW Pact nations.
      This is from the original Mirage Factory (although it has been modified by so many people over the years that it is basically a new aircraft).
      This Mig-23MF was a major production model after 1978. It could fire beyond visual range (BVR) missiles even for foreign countries and had a standard internal 23mm gun. Its radar was thought to be broadly comparable to the McDonnell Douglas F4J Phantoms' radar...formidable indeed.
      Mig-23s emerged victorious against maneuvering Western-trained Mirage F-1s over Africa on 27 September 1987, so the Mig-23's weapons systems could be effective.
      You can download the original Mirage Factory Mig-23 SFP1 package here:
      http://forum.combata...p;showfile=5211
      The Mig-23MF was the first major production version and also used largely for export. It saw combat in the Middle East with Syria and reportedly had some F-4 and F-16 kills.
      It was a much improved export version after the previous MS version. The Warsaw pact, India, Lybia, Syria, Egypt, Cuba and others used the MF version. It fired radar-guided missiles and so was a BVR threat with its AA-7 Apex missiles.
      Pilot report http://www.warbirdso...87/Default.aspx
      This was so complicated to make work in SFP2, that I had to end up just making it one complete download. If it wasn't loading or blowing up on the runway, then the HUD was not visible, the pilot was out of his seat, the plane was invisible, or the cockpit was invisible, pieces were flying permanently along side you in flight blocking your view, you were flying sideways, and you could not pick weapons. It took pieces from endless airplanes and projects to finally make it work including parts from SFP2.
      To my surprise, -the jewel-, the extremely complex Mig-23MF working HUD from Starfighter in SFP1 actually started working!
      Directions:
      1) Back up your Mig-23MF folder.
      2) Just download the whole filefolder Mig-23MF intact into your SFP2 aircraft folder as one folder....ie into the C:\mydocuments\thirdwire\SFP2\objects\aircraft
      3) When asked to overwrite say yes.
      -Finished!
      MiG-23M 'Flogger-B' First production fighter
      MiG-23MF 'Flogger-B' Improved MiG-23M with a new radar and an infrared sensor pod, major production model after 1978
      For strengths, it had incredible acceleration that reportedly equalled the later F-16 and F-15s. It also had an incredible climb rate and almost unmatched speed at low altitudes.
      For weaknesses, it had a terribly slow turn, slow rate of roll and high angle of attack limitations and vicious stall characteristics in certain situations. Better keep it fast.
      Good tactics in the MF are to sneak in fast at a low altitude, shoot and then run or use your fantastic rate of climb and acceleration in a vertical fight.
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      FLIGHT NOTES FROM A MiG-23 PILOT: The Mig-23 had incredible strengths and incredible weaknesses.
      WEAKNESSES: For weaknesses, most Mig-23s never could turn or roll very well compared to its enemies and had very heavy controls. Its roll was hurt by its control system (spoilers and a diferential tail and the disconnection of spoilers at any but 16 degrees).
      In close combat, the earlier versions in particular were a deathtrap because unless the pilot stayed within certain tight maneuvering limits, it would often lose control and simply crash. Its cockpit visiblility was one of the worst of any fighter. Visibility is life in a dogfight.
      It had slushy controls in many areas of its flight regime and its nose would often hunt back and forth. Its unpredictable accelerated stall was often taking ones life into ones hands if attempted. It also had the typical Soviet disadvantage of a very short range. There are reports of its radar not working much of the time and it often not being mission ready.
      It is hard to use an aircraft if it is not working.
      It is true that later versions had much improved handling/systems. However, I understand that maneuvering limits still existed.
    5. SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 3
      SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 3
      This mod supplies a collection of MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers, created by ArmourDave and The Mirage Factory, and heavily modded by Lindr2 for SFP1. (These are not mods of the 3rdWire Floggers supplied in the SF2 titles.) All have been converted and updated to SF2 standards. Also included with this mod are all the weapons, sounds, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft supplied with this mod.
      This mod consists of three parts:
      Part 1: 1st Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23S, Mig-23M, MiG-23ME, MiG-23MF,
      MiG-23MF, MiG-23UB)
      Part 2: 2nd Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23ML, MiG-23MLA, MiG-23MLAE, MiG-23P,
      MiG-23PD, MiG-23-98, MiG-23UM)
      Part 3: Ground Attack MiG-23s (MiG-23B, MiG-23BN) & MiG-27s (MiG-27,
      MiG-27D, MiG-27K, MiG-27M, MiG-27ML)
      Each of the three parts includes all the decals, pilots, sounds, effects that you will need for the aircraft in that part. The WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THE 2ND PART, which means that you MUST DOWNLOAD THE 2ND PART TO GET THE WEAPONS.
      These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, or SF2I. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Those familiar with Lindr2's Flogger packages for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated mod builds on his earlier efforts. Although I have largely followed Lindr2's lead in assembling this package, there are some noteworthy differences between his SFP1 collections and this one:
      1) Different Engine Sounds & Afterburner TGAs
      I have used different engine sounds and afterburner TGAs to give the various engines used by different models distinct sounds and appearances.
      2) NATO Code Names
      The aircraft names do include the NATO code names, whereas Lindr2's SFP1 versions did not use them at all. Also, the Air-to-Air weapons use both NATO and Soviet names/designations (e.g., "R-73 AA-11 Archer").
      3) Wider range of Skins/Nations
      You will find a wider range of skins used to represent more nations, drawing on the various one-off skins that have been released by other modders.
    6. Vertical Pack for Soviet Navy
      Soviet Navy Vertical Pack 1.00
      This is the first complete version of the Vertical Pack, now including the Yak-41M (also known by its commercial designation as Yak-141). I have modeled the plane as if it was deployed into combat units with its military designation Yak-41M. The plane served aboard the aircraft cruisers Novorossiysk and Baku, and on the aircraft carriers Tbilisi and Riga, from 1991-2010.
      This is a fine tuned or modified collection of everything I could find to improve the planes.
      I lot of time was invested in research and testing to provide you a working and accurate Yak-38/38M and Yak-41M. All feedback and suggestions are appreciated.
      Install
      I tried to include every component I have used with the planes, so it should work with a fresh unmodded SF2:NA. If you have DirX 9 and Win XP, then you also need Gerwin's IcelandNA modded terrain for XP to be able to play SF2NA on your PC.
      Just copy everything into your designated add-on folder and it should work. Beware it may overwrite existing add-on files and components you already have. Check it first, especially weapons.
      - General purpose Soviet Navy red star insignia for ships
      - Soviet Navy Ship tactical number decal set 001-999
      - Updated decal.ini files for ships (Udaloy, Slava, Kirov, Kresta II, Kashin, Krivak and Ulyanovsk) to display new ship numbers, insignia and name decals.
      Fixed
      - Fixed Yak-41M engines, flight model, balance, lift force, fuel amount, range, aerodynamics, slats, loadout, undercarriage spring effect, weapon station structure, nav lights and sound. Also some HUD/Avionics graphics changes.
      - Mi-8 skin minor fixes + new template
      - Yak-38 Northern Fleet skin (dark blue) colors changed.
      - Yak-41M minor 3D fixes (Lift engine cover, LERX, texture mapping, canopy glass, pylons)
      - Fixed ranges and seeker head of AA-10 Alamo missiles, as well as some minor bugs in inis
      - Fixed Kh-29T and Kh-29L missile speeds and turn rate.
      - Fixed AA-12 Adder (Folded version) launch animation entry in data.ini
      Changes
      - Yak-38/38M New weapon station stucture to exlude some IRM types.
      - Yak-38/38M loadouts modified with Delta-NG
      - Added separate MDB2 rack with RackSpecific entry for Yak-38 outer pylons. This way other aircraft (Yak-41) can use the normal rack.
      - Yak-41M uses afterburners on VTOL mode correctly (effects added)
      - Modified MBD3-U6 rack, changed the bomb sequence in order to avoid using the RackLimitOutsideOnly setting for Yak-41M.
      - Kiev aircraft cruiser STOL version has been added. It uses a more realistic launch arrangement. This "variant" of the ship is now Kiev (82) class, added separately for campaign use. In 1982 pilots have started to use STOL takeoff doctrine. The "catapult" launch places has been reduced to two, and are using the majority of the deck, along the two converging yellow lines which have this exact purpose. The ship otherwise the same like Kiev (wo. suffix) VTOL mode.
      - Separate Flight Manuals in text files.
      - Yak-38/38M flight model has been simplified with the usage of center-of-mass shift. I did not know that feature earlier. It has no change on the previous flight performance.
      - Mi-8T added lights and optional unarmed version without pylons.
      - Yak-38 VTOL flyable.
      - Yak-38M VTOL flyable.
      - Weapons: OFAB-100, 250, 500 etc from SovietBombPack; Kh-23 missiles, UB-8M, UPK-23 gun pod and MBD2 racks from Ordnance Shop II; APU-60-1 rack from Cocas
      - Soviet Pacific Fleet skin (Modified stock skin, set as default)
      - Soviet Navy Grey skin (Redrawn stock skin)
      - Soviet Northern Fleet skin (Redrawn stock skin)
      - Soviet Navy pilot Bright orange overalls (Redrawn Red3202 pilot skin made by The Trooper)
      - Two loadout.ini for both aircraft, a loadout.VTOL and a loadout.STOL. Overwrite loadout.ini to switch between them as you wish for AI and campaing use.
      - Three Kiev_data.ini's one for STOL and one for VTOL style take offs. Use the VTOL loadout file for the VTOL take-off modded Kiev, for safety reasons. The third INI has a "castrated" take off position #1 (Catapult 1) to enable human player VTOL take-off, for Soviet Navy campaigns and missions.
      Fixes
      - Fixed engine thrust vectors and exhaust positions
      - Re-added lift engines to fuselage
      - Fixed number decals position
      - Fixed pylon ordnance positions
      - Fixed Ranging Radar and gun pod's aim point
      - Fixed Kiev class carrier "catapult positions" and AI aircraft take-off. Now they can use all six takeoff positions, and supports vertical takeoff.
      Changes
      - Real thrust data added based on factory data.
      - Yak-38 automatic slats by Gepard
      - New vertical capable flight model, weight and torque balanced airframe.
      - Changed lift engines thrust angle to 80 degrees to the aft.
      - Engine thrust toned down by 10% to reflect real payload lifting capabilities.
      - Realistic payload choices added. Be warned, pylons are physically capable to hold much heavier payload than the plane can take off with. See payload info at the end of file.
      - Modified weapon stations to hold realistic payload
      - Removed plane numbers from 01-09 (Those were in use of Yak-38U two seaters)
      - Modification of plane numbers. Yak-38 tend to have lower numbers, grey 38M's take higher numbers, and extra easter egg))) (roughly to represent real planes)
      Added
      - Reaction control systems to nose, wingtips and aft fuselage.
      - Added gunpod station, exclusively for VSPU-36 (modeled by StationSpecific modified UPK-23)
      - Added Siren-I ECM system to Yak-38
      - Added Gvozdika ECM system to Yak-38M
      Kiev class aircraft cruiser new features
      - Kiev_data_STOL.ini for short take offs (default)
      - Kiev_data_VTOL.ini for vertical take offs (recommended for operating helicopters)
      - Kiev_data_Player.ini for disabling Catapult #1 to enable free vertical take off by player aircraft or helicopter.
      - Extra parking places added
      - 6 working launch places (catapults)
      - Fake arrestor cables untouched, they are needed for fake hooks used by AI Yak-38s.
      Overwrite Kiev_data.ini with the desired file.
      **************************************************************
    7. SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 2
      SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 2
      This mod supplies a collection of MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers, created by ArmourDave and The Mirage Factory, and heavily modded by Lindr2 for SFP1. (These are not mods of the 3rdWire Floggers supplied in the SF2 titles.) All have been converted and updated to SF2 standards. Also included with this mod are all the weapons, sounds, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft supplied with this mod.
      This mod consists of three parts:
      Part 1: 1st Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23S, Mig-23M, MiG-23ME, MiG-23MF,
      MiG-23MF, MiG-23UB)
      Part 2: 2nd Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23ML, MiG-23MLA, MiG-23MLAE, MiG-23P,
      MiG-23PD, MiG-23-98, MiG-23UM)
      Part 3: Ground Attack MiG-23s (MiG-23B, MiG-23BN) & MiG-27s (MiG-27,
      MiG-27D, MiG-27K, MiG-27M, MiG-27ML)
      Each of the three parts includes all the decals, pilots, sounds, effects that you will need for the aircraft in that part. This is the second part. The WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THIS PART -- THE 2ND PART.
      These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, or SF2I. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Please note that installation of these aircraft will overwrite & replace the default 3rdWire versions included in the various SF2 titles. I recommend that you first REMOVE the 3rdWire MiG-23 and MiG-27 versions - even if you haven't modded them -- before installing these alternate versions.
      To install, simply drag the following folders to your SF2 Mods Folder (NOT the folder that the game installs to):
      \Effects
      \Flight
      \Objects
      \Sounds
      By default your Mod Folder should be located here:
      Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      ...where [username] is the account you log into within Windows and [Game] is the name of the particular game mod folder that you're moving the files to.
      If the aircraft are not showing up in your Single Mission Aircraft menu, then you didn't install all the bits correctly. And remember, the WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THE 2ND PART, which means that you MUST DOWNLOAD THE 2ND PART TO GET THE WEAPONS.
      A Few Notes About This Mod
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      Those familiar with Lindr2's Flogger packages for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated mod builds on his earlier efforts. Although I have largely followed Lindr2's lead in assembling this package, there are some noteworthy differences between his SFP1 collections and this one:

      1) Different Engine Sounds & Afterburner TGAs

      I have used different engine sounds and afterburner TGAs to give the various engines used by different models distinct sounds and appearances.

      2) NATO Code Names

      The aircraft names do include the NATO code names, whereas Lindr2's SFP1 versions did not use them at all. Also, the Air-to-Air weapons use both NATO and Soviet names/designations (e.g., "R-73 AA-11 Archer").

      3) Wider range of Skins/Nations

      You will find a wider range of skins used to represent more nations, drawing on the various one-off skins that have been released by other modders.

    8. MiG-25 Foxbats for SF2

      SF2 MiG-25 Foxbats

      This mod package contains a collection of MiG-25 Foxbats, all converted and updated to SF2 standards. Included in the package are all the weapons, effects, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft in this package.

      These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, SF2I, or SF2NA. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.

      Those familiar with the original MiG-25 Pack assembled by Dave (USAFTML) for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated package simply builds on the work of Dave and the entire team behind that original release. (The original ReadMe from that release is included here.)

      Notes on Changes
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      This package is largely an updating of the original MiG-25 Foxbat Pack to SF2 standards. I will not claim 100 percent technical and historical accuracy for every aspect of every aircraft, but I did consult a number of sources while preparing this package.
      Several things are worth noting:
      - landing gear for all aircraft is fixed, so aircraft no longer bounce
      and teeter around on the ground or wander off into the weeds (this has
      long been a pet peeve of mine with these aircraft, and I think I have
      finally fixed the underlying problem);
      - brake chute animation for the PD and PD Export version has been disabled,
      as the animation appears to be partially broken, leaving the chute door
      open during flight (strangely, this problem does not affect the other
      models);
      - all engines now have fake afterburner nodes (if you don't like their
      appearance, you're welcome to substitute your own or turn them off);
      - all aircraft use standard SF2 shadow statements (the included .SHD files
      actually spawn those dreaded tractor beams, whereas a simple SF2 shadow
      configuration does not).
      It should also be noted that the skins included here are quite dated. If anyone is so inspired to create a new set of skins and decals (Paulopanz, I'm looking at you...), please contact me at CombatAce.com. I would be happy to incorporate a new set of skins and decals into an updated version of this package.
      Primary credit goes to the team responsible for the original MiG-25 Foxbat package for SF1:
      Dave (USAFTML)
      Wpnssgt
      Tomcat1974
      Sundowner
      Ghostrider
      Deuces
      Moonjumper
      Also included in this package are skins or decals done by the following individuals:
      HrntFixr
      Sidewinder86
      Gepard
      Wrench
      The cockpits used in this package were built by:
      Paladrian (MiG-21 cockpit)
      Boopidoo & Badger the Bad (Su-15 cockpit)
      Finally, I used a tweaked version of the fake afterburner node effect introduced by Spectre8750.
A copy of the original ReadMe for the MiG-25 Foxbat Pack for SFP1 is included in the same directory as this ReadMe.       JATO:
      All the models could carry SPRD-63 JATOs. Even if in reality it was only used in certification trials, all the aircrafts had provision to mount them.
      Here you can use them as you like. JATO guns are part of the aircraft and the bottles are set as drop tanks. To activate, press the key assigned to Thrust vectoring down. To operate any kind of gun on the ground you need to have Weapons set to Normal or Easy in Gameplay options.
      Start takeoff run and when the aircraft reach 200Km/h, activate the JATO rockets. Burn time is 15 seconds. Discard then the empty bottles, possibly not over populated areas.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      REQUIREMENT:
      This pack need SF2NA to work properly. It can also work in SF2 or SF2E but without KD and KPD models.
      Red Side Standard Weapons Pack by Snailman is also required for the approriate bombs.
      http://combatace.com/files/file/15167-red-side-standard-weapons-pack-full-beta/
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      INSTALLATION:
      Copy all the files in the respective directory of your game folder.
      "User"\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 NorthAtlantic
      This mod will not overwrite stock Tu-22, Tu-22KD, Tu-22PD and RD but hide them from game. To restore them, simply delete the INI inside.
      And if you'ld like to fly for freedoom as Lt. Belenko you can do as his plane is inside the pack.
      As I remember well when the most feared soviet MiG, landed on Hakhodate Japan airport ....
      Old glory, good, cold war years, when you'ld see your enemy quite straight in his icy eyes.
      Enjoy.
    15. Swing-Wing Fitters for SF2
      ----------------------------------------
      SF2 Su-17/20/22 Swing-Wing Fitters
      ----------------------------------------
      This mod package contains a collection of Su-17, Su-20, and Su-22 Fitters, all converted and updated to SF2 standards. Included in the package are all the weapons, sounds, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft in this package.
      These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, or SF2I. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      To install, simply drag the \Objects and \Sounds folders to your SF2 Mods Folder (NOT the folder that the game installs to). By default your Mod Folder should be located here:
      Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      ...where [username] is the account you log into within Windows and [Game] is the name of the particular game mod folder that you're moving the files to. If the aircraft are not showing up in your Single Mission Aircraft menu, then you didn't install all the bits correctly.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Aircraft & Nations Included
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      The following aircraft are included in this package:
      A Few Notes About This Package
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      Those familiar with Lindr2's Fitter packages for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated package builds on his earlier efforts. Although I have largely followed Lindr2's lead in assembling this package, there are some noteworthy differences between his SFP1 collections and this one:

      1) Limited use of AmokFloo's Su-17M model

      Where Lindr2 used AmokFloo's Su-17M (from 2008) to represent the -17, -17M, -17M2, -20A, -20B, and -22F, I have opted to use ArmourDave's earlier Su-17 model (from 2003) for the -20A, -20B, and -22F. Although AmokFloo's model is arguably better-suited in many ways to stand in for those early export versions, ArmourDave's model has a wider range of skins available to represent the various user nations of those aircraft. Sadly, there appear to be only three skins available for AmokFloo's model. If someone wants to do more skins for AmokFloo's model, I would be happy to release an updated version of this pack to make use of them.

      2) Adjusted weapon stations and loadouts

      Again, I have largely followed Lindr2' lead in this area, but I have adjusted the attachment positions of some weapon stations (esp. on ArmourDave's Su-17 model) and made some changes to the default loadouts for most aircraft. In particular, the loadouts for center fuselage stations needed changes, because with size of the PTB-800 or Tank600_Su-7 drop tanks, there simply isn't enough room to load both tanks and weapons on the front and back fuselage stations. The default loadouts load weapons (rockets, bombs) on all four stations or tanks alone on the rear stations, but never a mix of weapons and tanks on front and rear. Note that the Loadout screen *will* let you load the fuselage stations with weapons and tanks simultaneously -- just don't do that. (And, if you do, don't complain to me about the unsightly result.)

      3) Wider range of skins/nations

      You will find a wider range of skins used to represent more nations. I am not an expert on the operational history of the swing-wing Fitters. Still less am I a skilled texture artist, so I make no claim that these skins are 100% historically accurate in their depiction of these aircraft as used by so many different nations. I did consult online references and looked at quite a few photos while putting together this package, and I do think it represents a general improvement over what was available before. If you've got better data and/or better skins, please do share -- I'd be happy to do an updated, more accurate version of the package.

      This package largely consists of work done by others and released previously in other packages. All I did was assemble the package, update the bits to SF2 standards, and make minor adjustments and tweaks here and there (discussed above).

    16. Su-15TM Flagon F for SF2 [Revamp]

      Realizing the limited capabilities in the Su-15 Flagon A, the USSR soon realized, of changes to be made to the plane, a new cranked delta wing was used, with the improved Taifun-M radar (NATO "Twin Scan") and provision for UPK-23-250 gun pod or R-60 (AA-8 "Aphid") short-range air-to-air missiles.

      Aerodynamic demands forced a redesign of the radome with an ogival shape, earning a new NATO reporting name, "Flagon-F" (some info taken by Wikipedia)

      *****The SF2 Plane*****

      Again this is a revamp of Boopidoo`s Flagon F, few details in the inis were changed. thanks to Boopidoo to include this important red bird.

      A new set of high 4096x4096 resolution has been added, some stenciling was added too, with a new template made by me, again, available if you want it.

      AA-3C and AA-3D have been tweaked by Snailman and the UPK-23-250 has been reskined by me.

      If i forgot to credit anyone here i beg my apologies, please let me know and i will update it.

      Hope you have fun with this more capable plane, now you have the chance to shoot back if your interception is intercepted :D

    18. Sukhoi Su-11 "Fishpot-C"

      The Su-11 was an upgraded version of the Sukhoi Su-9 ('Fishpot') interceptor, which had been developed in parallel with the OKB's swept wing Su-7 fighter bomber.
      Recognizing the Su-9's fundamental limitations, Sukhoi began work on the Su-11, which first flew in 1961 as the T-47 prototype.
      The Su-11 shared the Su-9's delta wing, swept tailplanes and cigar-shaped fuselage, as well as the circular nose intake, but had a longer nose to accommodate the more powerful 'Oryol' (Eagle; NATO reporting name 'Skip Spin') radar set.
      A more powerful Lyulka AL-7F-1 turbojet was installed, providing 9.8 kN (2,210 lbf) more afterburning thrust for improved climb rate and high-altitude performance (and to compensate for increased weight).
      The Su-11 can be distinguished from the Su-9 by the external fuel pipes atop the fuselage, aft of the cockpit.
      The Su-9's beam-riding K-5 missiles were replaced by a pair of R-98 (AA-3 'Anab') weapons, usually one R-98MR semi-active radar homing and one R-98MT infrared guided. Like many interceptors of the period, it had no cannon.

    19. Tupolev Tu-16 Badger Collection

      Although the Tu-16 began as a high-altitude, free-fall bomber, in the mid-1950s it was equipped to carry early Soviet cruise missiles.
      The Tu-16KS (Badger-B) version could carry AS-1 missiles over a combat radius of 1,800 km (1,125 mi).
      These very large weapons were aerodynamically similar to the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 fighter,
      fitted with either a nuclear or conventional warhead, had a range of about 140 km (90 mi).
      They were intended for use primarily against US Navy aircraft carriers and other large surface ships.
      Subsequent Tu-16s were converted to carry later, more advanced missiles, while their designations changed several times.
      A versatile design, the Tu-16 was built in numerous specialized variants for reconnaissance, maritime surveillance,
      electronic intelligence gathering (ELINT), and electronic warfare (ECM).
      A total of 1,507 aircraft was constructed in three plants in the Soviet Union, in 1954–1962.
      They were exported to Egypt, Iraq and Indonesia.
      Egypt: 20 Tu-16KS; 6 Tu-16T; 20 Tu-16KRS2/K-11; Tu-16R

      The Sukhoi Su-7 (NATO designation name: Fitter-A) was a swept wing, supersonic fighter aircraft developed by the Soviet Union in 1955.
      Originally, it was designed as tactical, low-level dogfighter, but was not successful in this role.
      On the other hand, soon-introduced Su-7B series became the main Soviet fighter-bomber and ground-attack aircraft of the 1960s.
      The Su-7 was rugged in its simplicity but its shortcomings included short range and low weapon load.
      It had 4 hardpoints, later implemented to 6. This pack portrays both early and later version for each BM/BKL/BMK types.

      What's in:

      Su-7 [DLC AI planes 2]
      Su-7B
      Su-7BM (4 & 6 hardpoints)
      SU-7BKL (4 & 6 hardpoints) [new]
      Su-7BMK (4 & 6 hardpoints)

      All flyables (the stock ones only reading flagged but with restore file for after patch edits)

      Each with new/stock fixed/old edited/restored skins & proper historical decalset

      sound & pilots

      canopy open = 10 key

      improved weaponloads

      tweaked userlists (Su-7BM: LSK fake skin removed - Soviet '75 Camo left only for fun)

      left/right wing red/green lights issue solved.

      For IAF Su-7BMK / type 22: please D/L specific plane.

      older content in main mod folder and overwrite.

      Notes:

      The "real" SU-7BKL had quite different gear, but we can live with these

      Enjoy.

      @paulopanz

      PS: Better screens and FM tweakings very wellcome

    21. Yak-38M_85

      Yak-38M Beta Version

      by: Krizis

      This model represents the "improved" variant of the Yak-38 Forger, the Yak-38M.
      Work on the '38M began in 1982, with an eye towards minimizing, if not eliminating, the deficiencies of its predecessor.
      By the time of its introduction in June of 1985, the improvements included a more potent power plant, the Soyuz-Tumansky R-28-300, as well as more powerful lift engines (2 x Rybinsk RD-38 turbo-jets). A steerable nose wheel, an increased load-carrying capacity on all wing hard points, and enlarged intakes rounded out the list.
      All the improvements resulted in a marked improvement in the aircraft's reliability and overall performance, and some of the earlier models were rebuilt to the updated standards of the 'M.

      TO INSTALL:

      Simply drag the two supplied folders, "Sounds" and "Objects", into your User Name/Saved Games/Thirdwire/SF2x folder.

      RELEASE NOTES:

      This model will not by available in any in-game missions or campaigns until late June of 1985, and will be unavailable after July of 1991.
      The loadout provided is as correct as I could make, given the limitations of the series, and the availabilty of some models (namely multiple ejector racks and missile guidence pods)
      The flight dynamics model is based on the Thirdwire flight model, with a few tweaks to reflect the up-rated capabilities of the M-model, as well as tweaks in thrust placement, thrust values, and flap values to allow for a smooth transition from vertical to horizontal flight, even under hard mode. Despite this, I recommend using a full HOTAS in conjunction with rudder pedals, or at least a HOTAS with a "twist" rudder axis.

      KNOWN ISSUES:

      1) There is no wing-fold, nor canopy animation for this model, as Krizis never sent me a completed LOD file with animation IDs defined for those features. Hopefully, he will see this release and come back to finish the model.

      2) The Cockpit, which was provided by Stary, presently lacks a working gunsight. This may be resolved sometime in September of 2014, as which point I'll release a revised model.

      3) The model is set up by default for SF2NA, which considers strike missions to be anti-ship missions. Otherwise, electing an "anti-ship" mission in SF2NA, may result in a game crash. The loadout.ini file that is provided with this release is configured for easy editing, so that you can enable conventional strike and anti-ship missions in the other SF2 titles.

      4) The AI in this series will not use the VTOL capabilities of any aircraft model, so this aircraft is equipped with a virtual tail-hook to allow it to land on the 1143-series aviation cruisers (Kiev, et all). CA-member Snailman has a fixed data ini for the Kiev in our uploads section, that simulates a VTOL "launch".

      CREDITS:

      Krizis: 3D model and grey texture-set.
      Stary: Cockpit
      Fubar512: ini work and sound effects.
      Lindr: Kh-23 ASM model.
      The Trooper: Red7001 pilot model

      This model is freeware, and may not be redistributed for profit without the express consent of its owner, Krizis
