  1. F-4E(78) Indiana ANG Skin/Decal Pak by Dr. Doyo

F-4E (78) USAF Indiana Air National Guard Skin and Decal Pak

    = For SF2 (Full-4 Merged Reccomended)

*Note: can be used in any install with access to the F-4E_78*

Slight modifications to a 1stGen skin pak done by Joe "DrDoyo" Royal in 2007, to bring it to SF2. This is my way of saying "Thank You". And remembering and honoring one of our own.

This skin is the "Egypt1" 2-tone gray camo from his 3-skin pak. I chose this one, as more aircraft (according to his notes) were in this pattern than the others.

The skin has had some very small tweeks, to fill in some bits, and is renamed to fit the _78 model Phantom. I made the assumption (oh! that word!) these would have been the variant he worked on in the Indiana ANG. If I'm wrong, my extensive apologies! With a simple rename of the skin bmps, it can be used for any/all F-4E variants.

All decals were done by DrDoyo, and reflect 100% accuracy for the aircraft depicted.
Randomization is set the "TRUE" for the 25 tail numbers (it might even work!).

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!! DrDoyo's original readme is included, as it has nice personal historical notes. Any mistakes/errors are all mine.

    Happy Landings!!

  2. F-4D (78), North Dakota ANG "The Happy Hooligans" by Chris

F-4D (78) USAF, North Dakota Air National Guard Skin and Decal Pak
    = For SF2 (Full-4 Merged Recommended)

*Note: can be used in any install with access to the F-4D_78*

Slight modifications to a 1stGen skin pak done by "Chris" in 2005, brings it to SF2.

This skin represents the 178th FIS, 119th FIG North Dakota Air National Guard, aks "The Happy Hooligans". All decals used herein are from this original pak. The skins are stock, with a new-made _5.bmp to add the painted on fin stripe

Other mods included are the data and userlist inis, with corrected 'end-of-service-dates', as many ANG units seem to have used the D until the early 1990s. Also, the canopy has been activated via the usual manual animation key (shift/0). Couldn't pass that one up!

For grins and giggles, jpg copies of the skin maps are included .. in case someone wants to save HD space.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!! The original 2005 readme is included. Any mistakes/errors are all mine.

    Happy Landings!!

ps: having placed their home base on the terrain I working on, couldn't resist having more Hooligans!

  7. F-4F (80) Norm 81B Camouflage

History of the Norm 81 camouflage:

Since the mid 70ies German fighter pilots from Jagdgeschwader 71 "Richthofen" and Jagdgeschwader 74 "Mölders" increasingly complained about the old one-fits-all aircraft camouflage of the Luftwaffe called Norm 72 (Standard 72, named after the year of introduction). Its large geometrically arranged areas in olive-green and gray worked well camouflaging an aircraft on the ground and even in low level flight over the equally geometrical fields of Germany. But the dark colours also drew massive attention in high altitude combat. Worse, the oversized Iron Crosses and serial numbers with their high contrast black and white lettering made the aircraft even easier to spot.

In the later 70ies, Luftwaffe command encouraged its fighter pilots to develop new paint schemes. “Richthofen” and “Mölders” in particular were eager in devising trial camouflages. Most of them massively reduced the greens and put stronger emphasis on grays, while shrinking the markings a lot. (I do not know if it was intentional or not, but some resembled WWII Luftwaffe interceptor camouflages.) These were to become the basis for the official Norm 81.

Norm 81 was to be used by fighters and fighter-bombers alike, and applied to Phantoms which were upgraded to Peace Rhine-standard. When they were upgraded to ICE-standard, Norm 81 was replaced by the more modern Norm90J – the first German paint scheme intended for fighters only.

Description of the Norm 81 camouflage:

The aircraft camouflage is dominated by two shades of light gray (Lichtgrau, Steingrau) on the lower surfaces and the sides. Only the upper surfaces of the wings and the topsides of the fuselage along the spine and the engines were painted with three dark shades of gray (Quarzgrau, Basaltgrau, Staubgrau) and one shade of green-gray (Grüngrau). The early schemes deliberately featured soft edges for the colours blending them better into each other. Later this was given up, as weathering did that job rather well, too.

The national markings were reduced in size and number; the Iron Cross was applied top to the left wing and bottom to the right wing, and on both sides of the fuselage. Early in the 80ies, the old Norm 72-warnings continued to be used, until replaced with toned down warnings.

For flight safety some aircraft sported high visibility markings, most notably when transferred to low level fight training in Goose Bay, Canada. These markings could be painted on the top fuselage, under the nose, on the wing tips and on the stabilizers varying in size and colour. Many crews seemed to favour red or yellow, but green or blue was seen often as well. Only few had white or dayglow markings.
Norm 81 was used in two variants, A for geometrical shapes on the wings, tail and the fuselage downside, and B for rounded shapes. B seems to have been the preferred choice by the units.

Advise on the use of the skins in SF2:

The combination of soft colour edges and Norm 72-markings makes these skins suitable for campaigns set in the early and mid 80ies. However in the late 80ies they would look rather out of place.

    Skins included:

I included one Norm 81B skin for every German wing equipped with F-4F:
    Jagdgeschwader 71 "Richthofen"
Jagdgeschwader 74 "Mölders" (flying 'denamed' as JG 74 today)
Jagdbombergeschwader 35 (flying reorganized as JG 73 “Steinhoff” today)
Jagdbombergeschwader 36 (disbanded today, flew as JG 72 in its last days)

    Requirements:

You need the F-4F (80), but the skins should also fit on the F-4F (ICE). Also, F-4F and F-4E may work more or less.

    Installation:

Just unzip and drop the folder in your SF2 mod directory, usually it is:
    C:\Users\xxx\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 yyy

    Credits:

  8. Stock F-4 Phantom 2 USAFCamo1 Decalpack, and Ini Tweek

As the title says, this adjusts the SEA scheme in game to accept the later year Units. Earlier Phantom models have a second skin named SEA73, while later models just have their decal ini's editted. I have also included the effects, weapons and sounds from my Post Vietnam Pack as well as some new loading screens. This also includes the 95% finished version of my all ube squadronlist.ini, now with many place holders so that patching should not throw the squadrons into disarray.

Created in Full5 merged, but should work in any stand alone SF2 version except for NA. Will need SF2Europe for the D and E _75 and _78.

Install is the same as always. For further questions please consult the readme.

Any issues with tailcodes, please post a screenshot with your question or gripe. And do remember, this is meant for after 1973, so the tailcodes will not be the same.
In fact many Vietnam era users will have blank tails as they no longer flew the Phantom after 1973-74. If you want that user, regular USAFCamo1 is left alone for all models prior to 1975.

I hope you enjoy this mod!

  9. DLC21 USAF F-4 Skinpack Decalpack and Ini tweeks

This corrects one of the main faults of the USAF Skinpack in the DLC store, white tailcodes! I also have included many additional units as well as a Word document detailing which tactical units flew the Phantom in its later service with the USAF. I also have included many of the improvements from my previous post Vietnam pack, as well as my mostly finished squadronlist.ini. That ini is set up so that there will be minimal interuption from future patches, and DOES include all tactical Phantom phlyers, at least in US service.

NOTE: all paint schemes came about in 1978 or later. as such i have not included any units that did not fly the Phantom in that timeframe. If you pick a Phantom unit that changed over after 1974, it will have a blank tail!!!
ALSO NOTE: a few of the ADC units (like the 111th FIS of the Texas ANG) used a different system for serial numbers than the skins in here. Please read the document on Phantom units before griping that i missed someone!!!

Installation is same as usual, unzip, copy to mod folders and allow overwrite.

Finally, with one exception I have not included the skins themselves. To all the oldtimers here, i know that skins are usually fairgame. However, given that is the point of this DLC, i opted not to include the whole skin to avoid pissing off TK and getting skins locked. The exception is the F-4C_67, as he did not include that in the DLC.

I hope that you all enjoy this mod.

  10. F-4K Phantom II - VC-724, Royal Australian Navy

This is an additional skin for my F-4K Phantom II - Royal Australian Navy portraying the markings of 724 Squadron.

In real life, 724 Squadron (or VC-724) was the RAN Fleet Air Arm's fast jet training squadron. 724 Squadron commissioned in the RAN in 1955 as a fighter training squadron. In real life, it operated various types including the C-47, Sea Vampire, Sea Venom, Macchi MB-326H trainers, and A-4G Skyhawks. From 1972, VC-724 operated only Macchis and Skyhawks. Australia's carrier, HMAS Melbourne was decommissioned in 1982, and VC-724 transferred its Macchis to the RAAF and absorbed VF-805's Skyhawks. The Squadron decommissioned in 1984, with its remaining aircraft being sold to the RNZAF.

The Phantom skin provided here contains the "gold delta" tail design used on many of VC-724's Skyhawks. In line with the markings of my operational Phantoms, the decals for the squadron patch (splitter plate), squadron number, and ship name are also provided.

    Installation

  11. Historical F-4B/J BuNos

BuNo/ Serial Number mod for Stock F-4B and F-4Js

This is a mod to add historical BuNos to the stock Phantoms. when researching Bunos for other Phantom models, i got the numbers for the
B and J models first then took one hundred that survived to be retired as N or S models and did not crash with fatalities. this mod features the
B and J numbers i started with,as well as the BuNos for the mig killers. I also adjusted data ini for smokier engines.

ALL numbers after 099 are historical MiG killers, with a few that were already in the ones i had previously completed

Installation: open the main folder, then the Stock folder. add the 3 folders inside to the mod folder of your choice, allowing overwrites and merges.
if you have the USN/USMC DLC skinpack (DLC18) then open the DLC folder and follow the same directions above.

Included: over 100 Buno's with 4 digit big and full Buno small for the F-4B and J
adjusted decal ini's for all relevant skins
spillone104s J79 effects and data.ini conversion to put them to use
    loading screens for each type

    ***************IMPORTANT NOTICE******************IMPORTANT NOTICE************************************************************************************
This pack focuses on the gull gray over white and overall gull gray schemes. The Marines gave up the last B's in 1978, and the J's were retired around 1983.
It was the N's and S's that wore most of the camo schemes and so i did not add any other color numbers than black. anyone wanting different colors is welcome
to PM me for a tutorial on how to change decals in GIMP. this is again intended for the stock skins, not a major rework of the skins/decals

  14. SF2 VF-51 F-4B & F-4N Phantom (Mytai) Skin/Decal Pak

    SF2 VF-51 F-4B & F-4N Phantom (Mytai) Skin/Decal Pak                  7/14/2018
    = For SF2 (Any & All, Full-5 Merged Prefered) and/or SF2:V + DLC 23 =
*Can be used in any install that has access to the F-4B_67 which is stock in all merged installs.  You =MUST= also have DLC #23, the 3rd Wire F-4N Phantom.
This package contains 3 revamped & updated skins, now for SF2, originally created by Mytai01 in 2005(ish) for SF1. These skin represent VF-51 "Screaming Eagles" deployed to Southeast Asia during Vietnam War cruises. This skins are:
    F-4B_67:
VF-51 (1971) embarked aboard USS CORAL SEA (NL code)
    VF-51 (1973) -same as above
    F-4N (DLC #23):
    VF-51 (1974) -same as above

The differences are various paint schemes, and include both CAG and line birds. All 3 skins are new builds, from Sundowner's template. The skins are in jpg format. All decals from the original Mytai pack have been reused. The dates listed are for the deployment years. The SF2 "date switch" is =NOT= used on these skins.
When on the load out screen, on the skin selection widow, you'll see:
    F-4B_67:
    VF-51 Screaming Eagles 71 (Mytai)
    VF-51 Screaming Eagles 73 (Mytai)
    F-4N:
    VF-51 Screaming Eagles 74 (Mytai)
As VF-51 is a stock, listed squadron, this will help diferentiate these from 'generic' 3W skins. It also honors Mytai for his work in creating them so long ago.
Decal randomization has been set to "TRUE". Included are "newish" data inis for both aircraft. The data inis now incorporate manually operating (meaning: you, the player can now) wingfold and canopy operation. Both use the Standard Animations Keystrokes (tm), Shift/9 for wings and Shift/0 (zero) for the canopy.
Also included, within each skin folder, are all of Mytai's original research material that came with the 1stGen Package. This inlcudes photos and other text files.
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them ....
Remember!! You must have DLC #23 to gain access to the F-4N!!

  19. Alternative F-4G(B) skin

    Hi,

Just something I whipped up real fast after I saw the loading screen of the renewed F-4G (65-66 USN)...
I noticed it wasn't overall green, but resembled the lizard scheme very much. So I fiddled around with
some different available skins (I think the lizard skin is TW and other parts came from the green standard skin of the aircraft)
and quickly made this to add some variation in an almost real life manner...

  20. SF2 VF-114 F-4B (65) Phantom Skin/Decal Pack by Mytai

    SF2 VF-114 F-4B (65) Phantom Skin/Decal Pack by Mytai         9/4/2019
    = For SF2 (Any & All, Full-5 Merged Prefered) and/or SF2:V =
*Can be used in any install that has access to the F-4B_65 which is stock in all merged installs, excepting SF2:I (well, actually it's probably there as well!).
This a new build of Mytai01's 1stGen skin for VF-114 Aardvarks durning 1965/66 Southeast Asia cruise about USS Kittyhawk as part of CVW-11 (tail code NH). This is within the time frame of the camo experiments the USN was conduction, as many of the aircraft aboard were using this 2-tone green camo. Records seem to indicate VF-114 did not. The aircraft remains in the standard Gull Gray/White scheme. With this skin set, you should have all the strike/fighter/attack aircraft of CVW-11 for this cruise.
The skin is in jpg format, 2048x, from Sundowner's templates. Mytai's original decal have been 'refershed' to remove any oddites or edge 'ghosting'. Decal randomization is TRUE.  Also included, within the skin folder, are all of Mytai's original research material that came with the 1stGen Package. This includes photos and other text files.
Also included are slightly modified data and loadout ini that correct a few little faults. Wingfold and canopy are now manually activated, using the Standard Animations Keystrokes (tm); shift/9 for wings, shift/0 (zero) for canopy. Lighting has been tweeked so the wing lights follow the wing when folding/unfolding. A landing light and the 3 approach lights have also been added (see "Notes" for more details).
When in-game, on the Loadout Screen, on the skin selection dropdown you'll see:
    VF-114 Aardvarks 65 (Mytai)
As the Aardvarks are a unit listed in the stock squadron list ini, decals are set to make the displayed name active.
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them ....

  21. F-4D Phantom II in ANG Service.

This is a skin/decal set for Phabulous Phantom.
Basic modding skills are required to run this mod.  (copy/paste, mod folder structure etc.)
Pack contains skins and decals representing all F-4D users amid Air National Guard units. Skins are made for stock F-4D_78. F-4D was used between 1977 -1990 in ANG and these skins are fitting in 13 years of service.
Mostly all serial numbers are correct for specific dates and units. If you will find some errors please feel free to send correction notes.
No ini files for this as this is only skin sets. Just simply add skin folders to your favorite F-4D_78. Or create a new, specific one for ANG use.
You will find that some aircraft wear kill marks as in real life. If you want to have your own kill marks you have to modify decal.ini file.
To fully enjoy this skin set you need to have ThirdWire F-4D_78.

All skins are done in 2048x2048 based on Sundowners and Ravenclaw's work.

  22. SF2 F-4C-67 Phantom II, Hawaii ANG

SF2 F-4C_67 Phantom II, Hawaii Air National Gurad Skin Pack    5/15/2020
    = For SF2 (Any & All, Full-5 Merged Prefered) =
*You must have the F-4C_67 in you hanger to make use of this mod!!*
This is a reskinning of the stock F-4C_67 as used by the 199th TFS, 154 W of the Hawaiian Air National Gurad from 1976-1987, when they were replaced by F-15A Eagles.
A modified version of the stock skin, with added 'slimers' is used, along with 26 100% historical serial numbers. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. The skin is the "standard" 3-tone SEA style. Also included are modified _data and _loadout inis, giving a landing light and Player Controlable (tm) canopy. The loadout ini has the (often missing) wing tanks added to all mission statements. The canopy operates with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm) Shift/0 (zero).
When in-game, on the "select skin" drop down, you'll see:
    199th TFS, HI ANG (76-87)
This will assist you in selecting the skin.
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... they can be accessed after unzippering.
    Happy Landings!
