  2. The Flying Tigers Campaign for IL-2 Sturmovik 1946

This is the Flying Tigers Campaign. It has everything that the Flying Tigers did. There are 8 missions that are strikes, interceptions and patrols. It has all kinds of exciting stuff. Take command of up to 12 planes.

NOTE: THIS DOES NOT WORK ON IL2 STURMOVIK FORGOTTEN BATTLES, PACIFIC FIGHTERS OR IL2 ACE EXPANSION PACK. IT REQUIRES IL2 1946

  3. America's Ace of Aces

    Richard Ira Bong

Just over the Wisconsin border from Illinois is the most stolen sign in America. It reads Bong Recreation Area. 99% of the people you ask will have no idea who or what the area is named after. It's a shame that the greatest fighter pilot America has ever produced is all but forgotten and his name has become a joke.

This is just my attempt to educate a small number of you as to the life and times of Richard Ira Bong, America's Ace of Aces. His record 40 kills in the Pacific Theater will never be surpassed. This unlikely farm boy from Poplar Wisconsin became a super star and then faded into the history books. He deserves more than 15 min of fame.

I have recreated all of Bong's successful missions. If you equal or surpass Bong's record with all the realism options turned on without do overs and without using the auto pilot you have accomplished a major feat and should be proud of your simulated flying skill.

The folder BongCampaign goes in the US folder that is in the Campaign folder that is in the mission folder.
The folder BongSingle goes in the US folder that is in the Single folder that is in the mission folder.
The P38J, P38L and P38L_Late folders go in the skins folder that is in the PaintSchemes folder.

This campaign is complex and requires a powerfull computer and video card. It was done with IL2FB+PF Combined Install version 4.02.

I have tried to recreate as accurately as possible the circumstances faced by Dick Bong in his 2 year onslaught of the Japanese armed forces. I have had to use different maps because many of the areas that Bong fought in are not represented in the game yet. Areas such as Northern New Guinea, Rabal, Borneo, the Philippine Islands of Negros, Mindoro and Leyte have not been modeled yet. I have found very similar areas on other maps that fit the bill however. By using the southern part of New Guinea I was able to recreate the Lae area farther to the north; by using the Singapore map I could recreate similar conditions to the Philippine islands etc. I think you will get the feel of the historical area and conditions.

Three books were instrumental in providing the historical facts for this endeavor...

Ace of Aces, The Dick Bong Story - Written by Carl Bong and Mike O'connor
Dear Mom So We Have A War by Carl Bong
Dick Bong Ace of Aces by Gen. George Kenney

Carl Bong is Dick Bong's brother and Gen. Kenney was Dick's commanding officer. I have copied major parts of the "descriptions" from these books. I am not a writer but I do know how to copy well. The first mission is from the Kokoda Campaign for Pacific Fighters by VBF_80 and the skins are all modifications of other people's painstaking work the most notable being "Marge" by Richard Mutt or RMutt. I couldn't have done this project without the jump start these artists provided.

I wish to apologize for the racial epithets used to describe the Japanese race. This was the language of the times and the quotes are verbatim. I'm sorry if they cause any discomfort. I do not mean to offend, just to be historically accurate with my quotes.

There are a few fun missions. One where you take off at night and try and get Washing Machine Charlie as Bong tried to do a few times... Another where you get into a dogfight in a SBD against a float plane... One where you have a mock dog fight with a P47 as Bong did while on leave... and the last one where you try and complete the only mission that Dick Bong could not.

Add all you want but please dont change the basic facts of the missions. The research is pretty good. If you do put the plane on autopilot, you will encounter all the bogies that Dick Bong shot down.

Oh yeah, by the way, did you know who Bong was before you read this?

  4. Battle of Britain - Hurricane Season

The Battle of Britain - Hurricane Season campaign missions are pulled from actual daily events and reports from July 10th through August 31st. While the missions follow a fictional character (you), some of the names and people are real. The locations, aircraft and Squadrons, (British and German) are as accurate as possible.

  5. The Battle of Malta 1940-42(GB) 1.6

THE BATTLE OF MALTA 1940-1942 (GB) 1.5

    for Il2/AEP/Pf 4.03m+

A 51 mission Scripted fighter Campaign for an RAF pilot.

This campaign is based on a a lot of historical research, no real pilot would have had the opportunity to experience
all that is contained although I have constructed what I hope is a believable 'fiction'.

Most missions represent Radar guided interceptions above the Island of Malta, against the numerically vastly superior
    Regia Aeronautica and Luftwaffe.

Convoys are central to this whole campaign so ships of all types and their attack and defence feature very heavily
throughout (several missions are carrier based).

Player fly's the Gladiator, Hurricanes, Spitfire and Beaufighter
(and very briefly a Martlet (lend lease F4F-4) and A20.)

This campaign was constructed using the excellent il2 MATmanager and it is recommended that people install this excellant free utility in order to see accurate plane markings.
(the campaign should still work without it but will not look as good as intended.)

Thanks to all the skinners that created the skins contained within, I have tried my best to agnowledge their excellent
    work.

Unzip to your desktop and look at the enclosed Read Me(GB)

1.5- As a result of The_Battle_of_Malta (IT) the convoy actions of this campaign have been recreated in far greater
detail. As a result this version has 3 extra missions (all (historical) long range defences of convoys by Malta based
fighters) and 5 of the pre 1.5 missions have been extensively revised (specificaly the convoy 'Pedestal' missions).
(8 more 'historical'and 'semi historical' missions in total).

1.6- Updates the 41st mission in the campaign
(thanks to Beaufort for research and advice.)
Four missions that were air-starts have been changed so that all missions now begin on runways.
Tropical A20 skin included plus MBR-2-AM-34 skin replaced with a new skin by Skioppo.

(1.6 is a very minor change. With updates if you already have a campaign in progress, overwrite the existing Battle_of_Malta_1940-42 folder in your campaign GB folder and you can continue the campaign but will have the updated version.)

THE BATTLE OF MALTA (IT) is now available. It took far longer to produce than this one and required more research, almost all missions are based on real mission reports and had to be created from scratch, the atmosphere and focus is very differant and so are the mission types and problems faced, try it and see.

  6. Espagne

Here it is!!! The much talked about (OK, somewhat talked about) Spanish campaign.

    It consists of:
-the campaign missions, edited as well for single mission play
    -12 missions adapted for multi-player co-ops
    -all neccessary skins!!!

To install, simply do the following:

-unzip everything into a temporary folder (TEMP, for example), open the folder "Espagne" then cut and paste the folders named "Missions", "Samples" and "Paintschemes" into the Il-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles main folder.

And...voila! That's all there is to it!!

After taking off it will not be easy to survive all the different missions in this campaign.
To fly it, go to Campaign and, under France, select "Spain 1938".

Do not forget to activate the "play music" option, so you will have some ambiance sounds during the briefings.

In the skin of a Republican pilot you will take on your Nationalist adversaries (Fascist or Franquistes).
You will have the chance to try many different things: ground attack, reconnaissance, fly a captured enemy plane, escort bombers or secret agents, intercept bombers or enemy reconnaisance planes...

You will also encounter different types of planes...you will even find the enemy flying the same type of plane as yours on occasion so be sure about what you are firing at!!!

The multiplayer missions are playable from one side for those which take place on small maps, and from two sides for those on large maps.

Of course, the game does not provide a map of Spain (sniffff....) so I had to improvise a bit, but if you use your imagination for the names on the map it'll all be fine!!!

So, welcome to Spain, and fly well, compañero!!!

Oops..almost forgot...the first mission of the Campaign (All or Nothing) is an adaptation from a mission created by Mad_Cat.

    Have fun!!!

    ===============================
    Special dedication:

This work is affectionately dedicated to the memory of my grandfather, Paul (nicknamed Popol), who died 5 years ago, and who, in his youth and as a militant syndicalist and avowed Communist, volunteered to go and fight fascism in Spain in the ranks of the International Brigades. I miss you Papy...but
    the struggle goes on!!!

    -UF_Zargos
    -Col. Douglas King
and to the others whose names escape me at the moment...
Without the marvellous talent and hardwork of all these skinners this campaign would never have seen the light of day!!!

Thanks in particular to the Spanish Civil War site webcindario (hello Tuckie!!!), in Spain. It had the brilliant idea of reuniting in one place, the skins of all the aircraft that fought in the war in Spain,
    a la www.il2skins.com

Finally, a big thank you to Jude Simmonds, aka FlatSpinMan, a New Zealander who washed ashore in Japan, and who did what needed to be done to translate this campaign into English for our Anglo-Saxon friends!!!
He also created the bases from which you will take off. Yes, I know... I am quite lazy on this aspect of things... THANKS, man !!! You're the BEST !!!

Also special thanks to Jeanba with which I had so many mails about this campaign. Hope his PC is still OK... ;-)

Do not forget : switch off the "no instant success" option !!!

    And... Viva España !!!

  7. True Pacific for DGen

    OVERVIEW

Thanks for downloading (and for taking the time to read this file). The main features of this campaign mod:

    1) Adds 13 new DGen operations and 4 new DGen careers for the Pacific Theater

    2) Order of Battle extensively researched to put the right planes and squadrons in the campaign.

    3) Ops file is based, as much as possible, on the mission reports and pilot accounts of actual air engagements that

    occurred during the various campaigns.

    4) Planes, ships, AAA, artillery, and everything else is placed in as accurate position as possible based on my research

and map/game limitations [Note, ships setups have been designed to provide most realistic experience with reload time at

5.0; I higher reload time could help if you are experiencing low fps around ships; a lower reload time would be good if

you just really, really, want to relive Torpedo 8's mission every time you fly an anti-shipping strike].

    5) New campaign briefings

    6) Use skins so aircraft are painted and marked as they were historically

    0.08
    Bug Fixes
    1. 318th FG campaign crashing when going from Pearl Harbor to Marinanas
    2. No USN escort missions in carrier campaigns
    3. Coral Sea Escort mission crash
    4. No USN non-CV anti-shipping strikes in Midway
    5. N1K2 not showing up in Defense of Japan

    Enhancements
    1. Changed Rufe Tulagi campaign to pre-Guadalcanal bomber intercept campaign (as is historical)
    2. Guadalcanal Invasion campaign improved (Japanese template, correct OB, correct skins)
    3. Edited most carrier campaigns to reduce as much as possible the "30 mile final" (because of how DGen does carrier and antishipping missions, this is problem cannot be eliminated completely).
    4. Added USMC campaign covering the defense of Wake Island before the Hiryu/Soryu carrier strike
    5. Added Eastern Solomons campaign (correct air OB, task forces forces semi-historical, based on default Santa Cruz template)
    6. D3A1s and sBD-3s have correct skins in Santa Cruz
    7. A6M2-21s and D3A1s have green skins in Marianas
    8. Reduced air OB numbers in .dat files 50% across the board (allows the player to have slightly more influence on the campaigns, and brings air OBs in line with ground and ship unit density)
    9. Ar-196A3 (as a stand in for the E13A2) added to campaigns featuring IJN cruisers/battleships as appropriate

  8. WWIII 1946 USSR Fighter Pilot 1.0

WWIII 1946 is a "what if" historical thriller that lets you fly all of the strange jets and German wonder weapons in IL2 1946. This campaign is but a small part of the overall Mega Campaign the will include many smaller mini campaigns such as this one. Each campaign will build upon the other and you will be able to continue your pilot career until the conclusion of WWIII 1946.

In a painstaking process an alternate history storyline has been researched and is presented as a backdrop for some of the most heart pounding and hopefully entertaining missions you have ever flown.

By using historical documents from the US Joint Chiefs of Staff we know exactly what the contingency plans were in the case of an expected Soviet attack in 1946. It is clear from public polls and private correspondence that the US military and government officials fully expected an attack by it's former ally at any time starting in the spring of 1946.

Based on these plans code named Griddle and the other Pincher series plans we have developed a historically plausible alternate history scenario on which all these campaigns are based. These plans were based on the best estimates of Soviet forces and their plans for war.

When I say we I mean the wonderful feedback I have received on numerous forums including Missions4Today, SimHQ, AllAircraftArcade,CombatACE and the Wargamer. Go to these fine websites and search for WWIII and you should come across many interesting discussions.

    Storyline for 1946 WWIII

    Readme

Soviet Fighter Pilot Campaign Chapter One

...................................Top Secret For Your Eyes Only.......................................

    January 23, 1946

Our former allies, the so called Western Democracies, have demobilized entire armies and have sent many of their armed forces home. The US and England have a fraction of their former forces stationed on the European mainland. They mistakenly believe that their so called Atomic Bomb has altered our plans.

Our glorious leader, Tovarishch Stalin, has given us of his vision of a world wide workers paradise led by his guiding hand.

He does not fear the Abomb. He has seen the devastation it has brought to untold numbers of innocent victims he does not fear it's wrath.

Although he has no doubt that our armed forces can storm through the blasted hulk of the former Germany and France to liberate the suppressed workers of Europe, he does not want to use force unless absolutely necessary. Recent events have forced his hand and the very existence of soviet society is being threatened.

Our former Allies have made a fateful blunder and the world shudders at the consequences and prospect of another World War. They have rejected our rightful demands regarding Manchuria, Turkey and the liberation of Eastern Europe. In a stupendous miscalculation the US has base a squadron of B29 Super Fortresses in West Germany in an attempt to intimidate us. The B29 is an offensive weapon not a defensive weapon. There can be only on conclusion and that is that they intend to use their Abomb in a sneak attack on the Motherland we hold so dear.

They continue to gather former German scientists and their wonder weapons and have been stealing them away to work on even more destructive weapons and delivery systems. We must act and we must act now.

We need to create a buffer so that the motherland is never subject to attack again. Our vision is that all future wars will be fought in the no man’s land that is the former Nazi homeland and as long as capitalism survives there will be more wars. It's all a matter of where and when these wars will be fought because Capitalism and Communism cannot occupy the same space.

Some say the second atomic bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki intimidate us and to reinforce the power of the atom bomb in our mind. In addition it was to demonstrate that America has not only one but many bombs and is ready to use them. Tovarishch Stalin is calling their bluff.

Today we received word through our massive network of agents that American has a total of only 6 nuclear bombs. Now is the time to strike and to save the motherland from nuclear destruction. We have to attack now before they gain more of these monstrous weapons and use them.

We will no longer allow the West to dictate its will on the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and our glorious leader Tovarishch Stalin. He will once and for all remove the threat to Mother Russia. No longer will there be a gun pointed at his head from West Germany.

We have begun a massive and very well concealed mobilization.

As a Maior in the Soviet Air Force you have flown over 100 combat missions in both Europe and the far east. Because of your special status your official victory score is top secret due to the nature of your assignments.

You have been assigned to a special unit that is working on former German Wonder Weapons that are in our possession. Your specific assignment is to assess the combat capabilities of the various weapons platforms. As such you will be helping to design and test in any future combat situations, our newest weapons systems.

    Good luck to you comrade.

    Installation:

    1. Find your folder with your IL2-1946.exe in it. There should be a folder that is titled Missions. Inside that folder is the Campaign Folder. Open that folder and find the Ru Folder. Open that folder. Copy the WWIII_1946_USSR_Fighter Folder into that folder/subdirectory.

    2. The WWIIISkins folder contains skins that you might want to use to make the campaign more pleasing to the eye and more immerse. If you don't use the skins your Soviet planes will have no markings. Your campaign will run just find but won't look as realistic.

The Skins folder is in the PaintSchemes Folder which is in the main IL2-1946 main folder.

Most of the skins start with WWIII and then the plane model. Just drag them from their folders and put them in the same named folder in your Skins folder.

    3. The only way I know of to have the former Allies fight each other in a campaign is to make one side Blue and the other stays Red. I chose to make the Soviets go Blue because it was easier. What this means is that if you don't use the skins correctly you will end up with a Soviet fighter with a Japanese Zero on it. To deal with this problem I have painstakingly created and then changed every Soviet plane in every mission to have a custom skin. If you properly copy the skins into the correct folders you should have no problem. If not you will get Japanese markings on your Yak etc.

To correct the problem on the plane you are flying click on the "Arming" button then on the "Aircraft Customization" button. Look at the skins button and choose whatever skin you want but every Soviet plane should have a WWIIIxxxx skin in it. This is the one you should choose. If there isn't one then choose one that has a Soviet star on it and be sure to turn off the markings otherwise the Japanese meatball will be your skin.

If your wingmen etc. all have Japanese markings then you will just have to live with it or check out the skins files to make sure you have all the skins in the correct place.

    4. Turn the speech off unless you don't mind hearing Japanese and Russian mixed.
    5. If you want to hear the correct language follow flyby1 instructions below. Thanks flyby1.

"Here is how I do the speech changing: start;computer;L diskdrive;ubisoft;il-2 sturmovik 1946;Samples;speech;ru double click; delete actor1 thru actor9.;do not close these open windows ; then start;computer;C diskdrive;ubisoft-up2; il-2 sturmovik 1946;samples;speech;us double click ; then drag actor1 thru actor9 to the open RU file where the old actor1 thru actor9 were and now no ussr speech. same for any speech change ! you will have to do these changes with the computer file non full screen. As you see I play il-2 off the L drive and backup il-2 on the C drive."

Please let me know if you are having problems so maybe we can figure out a solution.

    Starting your career

    1. Go to Pilot Career
    2. Choose USSR with the rank of Maior
    3. Choose WWIII 1946 Soviet Fighter Pilot
    4. Choose the following in the Difficulty menus.
Turn off the following toggles. You do not want these options chosen for various reasons
    a. Turn off - Cockpit Always On - I want you to look around and see all the cool stuff
    b. Turn off - No External Views - For the same reason
    c. Turn off - No Icons - Those Lerches and ME 163 are very small
    d. Turn off - No Instant Success - Don't use this very often. There are some missions that just don't have anywhere to land in them and this is how you have to end your mission.
    e. Turn off - No Map Icons - At this point in history radar was able to vector you to your targets pretty well so use the map to do this.

I need help in completing this massive project. Be a part of Air Simulation History :)

  11. A20 on Karulha

    A20 on Karulha

    Mission for FB-AEP-PF merged.

Here is a mission for a max of 20 players :

-8 fighter pilots (escort and CAP) and
    -4 A-20G teams (1 pilot and 2 gunners each)

    The ideal solution :

-let no1 A-20 as AI to lead the pack on the right way,
-and have at least 2 pilots (nos 1 and 3) for each fighter group.

For the "simili"-historic thing, read the briefing...

Skins are coming with the pack (only 6). Big thank you to their authors, even if I have forgotten their names (except Buglords) !!!

    Install is very simple :

-unzip all in a temporary folder and open the obtained folder (A-20 sur Karulha).

-copy-paste everything in your FB-root : everything will automatically go to the right place !!! well... that's how it is supposed to work...

-Run the game, launch a coop mission,

    -choose the new A20 pack,

    -choose "Attack on Karulha" mission.

Pay attention to the briefing. Check the directions on the map (those indicated in the briefing are purely approximate indications).

And have a good flight !!!

  13. Butch's Bash

Pacific Fighters Mission - 4 players take-off from the Lexington -

....On 11 January 1942, CV-2, the USS Lexington sailed from Pearl Harbor as the flagship of TF 11. Task Force 11 consists of the Lexington, two heavy cruisers, and six destroyers The Lexington has been assigned the dangerous task of penetrating enemy-held waters north of New Ireland. From there her planes are to make a strike at Japanese shipping in the harbor at Rabaul.

Unfortunately, while still 400 miles from Rabaul, the Lexington was discovered by a giant four-engine Kawanishi flying boat.

Nine twin-engine enemy bombers have been spotted comming in from the South and Commander Thach has just led six Wildcats into the air to intercept them.

After Commander Thatch led the Wildcats towards the incoming enemy bombers, Lt Butch O'Hare noticed he had fuel problems, and turning 180 degrees he returned to his ship, the Lexington.

Suddenly he noticed nine more enemy bombers attacking from the opposite direction and alone and desperate, he attacked and took on all nine. single handedly destroyed five of them, and forced the rest to turn away.

For this Lt Butch O'Hare earned a Medal of Honor. Can you do the same with four aircraft Let me know what you think?

  14. Tanaka's Transports

Pacific Fighters Mission - Coop for 4/8 players

On November 11th, the Japanese assembled a large convoy of merchant vessels, loaded with 7,000 men and enough supplies and ammunition for a month's worth of fighting. And in order to assure the delivery of those supplies, they assembled a very powerful force, centered on the battleships Hiei and Kirishima

Rear-Admiral Tanaka Raizo would escort eleven transports carrying some 7,000 men and tons of ammunition and supplies to Guadalcanal. The Imperial Navy decided the battleships Hiei and Kirishima would smash Henderson with concentrated gunfire a day before the arrival of Tanaka's convoy.

In the darkness of Friday the 13th, 13 ships of the American Navy, engaged two battleships Hiei and Kirishima, a cruiser and 13 destroyers of the Imperial Japanese Navy. When it was done the Americans had lost 1 Light Cruiser and 4 Destroyers sunk, and 2 Heavy Cruisers, 2 Light Cruisers, and 1 Destroyer heavily damaged. The Japanese had 1 Battleship (Hiei); and 2 Destroyers, sunk, and 3 Destroyers damaged.

With only two heavy cruisers the Japanese were unable to do enough damage to the airfield. Henderson Field was still operational the next morning. As a result, the Japanese transports, came under heavy attack.

Multiple missions were flown by Marine SBD Dauntlesses, by SBDs and Avengers from carrier Enterprise which staged through Henderson, and by B-17 Flying Fortresses flying up from Espiritu Santo. against the transports throughout the day.

This is where you come in.

Seven of the transports were sunk- Rear Admiral Tanaka, resolved to land the four surviving transports and any surviving troops on Guadalcanal, regardless of any US resistance.

By early the following morning the four surviving Japanese transports had to beach themselves on the shores of Guadalcanal. All four were destroyed by US aircraft and destroyer attack, with horrendous casualties among the troops they were carrying.

For Japan, it was the end of any hope of wresting Guadalcanal from the Americans. In three days of combat in and around the area, they had lost two battleships, one heavy cruiser, three destroyers and eleven combat transports, not to mention 5,000 infantrymen drowned, and several thousand sailors lost. From this point on, the Japanese would never stop retreating in the Pacific.

  15. Swift Swett

Pacific Fighters Mission - Coop for 4/8 players

On 7 April 1943, Marine Lieutenant James E Swett in an F4F-4 Wildcat called "Melvin Massacre" took off from Henderson field leading an element of VMF-221.

28 ?Wildcats? of VMF-221, 8 F4U-1s of VMF-124 and 6 P-38Fs of the USAAF?s 12th FS mission that day were to protect the fleet from an estimated 195 Japanese "Zekes" and "Vals"

Upon approaching Tulagi Lt. Swett found 67 D3A2 "Vals" and about 110 "Zekes" starting their attack. Accelerating, he quickly outdistanced his wingmen who were then jumped by the "Zekes" so with no one to help him he waded into the fray.

When he came out the other end he was wounded, had no ammunition left, an engine shot up bad enough that it would eventually seize up on him, and 7 confirmed and 1 probable D3A2s downed by his guns

For this Lt James Elms Swett earned a Medal of Honor. Can you do the same? Let me know what you think?

  16. Raising Havoc

    Raising Havoc in the Ardennes

It is January 23rd, 1945, and it's cold. The German advance in the Ardennes is nearly over, but the Panzer Army is desperately throwing more troops into the breach who try to keep their momentum going in The Battle of the Bulge.

Tasked with preventing German reinforcements from reaching the battle front, the Ninth Air Force including A-20 Havocs of the 410th Bomb Group launched a series of low-level attacks on enemy ground forces as they wound their way through the Ardennes. Flying conditions were not easy, cloud bases were low, and snow was in the air.

Locating an enemy convoy in open space, the Havoc pilots make a swift attack diving from 8000 feet (2,400m), catching the German force by surprise: Hurtling down the line of vehicles at 320mph (515kph) they release their parafrag bombs from 300 feet (90m) then, dropping just above the roofs of the army trucks continue down the column blasting everything in sight with their forward-firing .50mm calibre machine guns. In the space of a few minutes the attack is completed and the convoy decimated.

With amuntion expended and fuel running low the A-20 Havocs climb out of the zone and head for base in France. they return through a blizzard, but all aircraft make it safely home - the lead aircraft, on landing, counting over 100 holes of various sizes. For their part in leading the successful attack the Lead Pilot Russell Fellers and Bombardier/Navigator Gordon G. Jones received the Silver Star.

the second is the take-off phase... more scene seting eye-candy
the third attack phase has a choice of four different complexities depending how good your machine is, and how much stutter you are prepared to put up with....
(this is called the small version because it is missing some sound files I included with the full version... just briefing screen music... which bumbed it up to over 6 mb.

  24. Mosquito Island Revisited

Online-COOP for up to 29 players.
Pacific coop mission built around Slimbo99's River A6m2-n base. Stunning visuals to justify a unique scenario as USN hunts for a secret IJN float plane base which has been plaguing shipping and patrols.

    Flyable planes include:
    (8) A6M2-n, (2) Ki-43-1a, (2) Ki-43-1c, (4) SBD-3 & (4) gunner seats, (9) F4F-3 Wildcats.......IJA/IJN planes will not fly as AI, all USN will.

    Scenario:
Secret A6M2-n base has been tearing up shipping and attacking patrols for a month. Efforts to find it so sea forces can pound it into oblivion have been for naught all till this morning.

At the far end of a dawn patrol a PBN escorted by wildcats spots brush burning activities on a small island, unfortunately out of radio range for the fleet. Contacting a parallel group of SBD's and Wildcats to the south, the two groups converge to investigate.

IJN base is alerted by distant spotters of the incoming flights, unfortunately, smudge pot bouy's are lit, and their planes are being prepped for the mornings missions, some fully loaded for long flights, others empty yet scramble to intercept.

On a nearby Island a IJA Ki-43 refit station is alerted to assist, unfortunately it is not an air base. Planes offloaded by ship and refit there yet 4 ready to fly try to scramble to assist using the roads of the fishing village to launch from.

Communication and teamwork a must on both sides as the advantage tilts back and forth between teams. The PBN must reach radio range to repot its findings as the IJN scramble to down it, and simply wound USN planes to keep their tale from returning to the carrier as well.

Version 1.0, in pack 1.1 otw, (3) versions will be included.
    1.1a as stands.
1.1b with loadouts set to be flown as only a full coop finalizing the scenario.
1.1c with loadouts set yet IJN/IJA planes out of hangars so they may launch as AI.

  25. New_Campaigns_for_PF

The  file will contain the following below. Some of it fixes historical inaccuracies and others contain more flexibility (even if not particularly historical, as an example, you may now fly the P-38J in new Guinea, a bit earlier
than history dictated but still with in flexible limits of reality

Added P-38J USAAF land based career to the New Guinea campaign (semi historical, a bit early, not by much)
Added F-4U Corsair Marines land based career to the Guadacanal campaign (a bit ealier but most same planes in the air)
Added Ki-61 Tony Career to the New Guinea campaign (semi historical, a bit early, not by much)
Added F65F Navy Career to the Marianas (historical)
Added ki-61 Tony career to the JAAF in Tarawa (not historical)

    Enjoy!
