    1. AVG Skin Pack v1.1 - P-40B Tomahawk

      AVG Skinpack v1.1

      For P-40 Tomahawk by Wolf257

      Thanks to Wrench for sharing his superlative Template, and for the use of his new, improved ring-bead gunsight and cockpit.ini file. Cheers Wrench ;-)

      Thanks also to Wolf257 for his AVG camo pattern which forms the base colouring of this skin set.

      Decals, .ini edits and so forth by Baltika. There are a/c numbers, tailcodes and squadron markings for 100 of the AVG Tomahawks. Where possible I have tried to match these up with actual serial numbers, but the sources of information are often conflicting.

      What you get are three separate folders, one for each of the AVG Squadrons, "Adam & Eves," "Panda Bears" and "Hell's Angels." Just drop the the 1AVG, 2AVG and 3AVG folders into your Tomahawk folder and you should be good to go.

      There is also a folder called "AVGKills" which also goes into your Tomahawk folder. This contains kill markings for up to 50 kills. If your pilot has more than that you will need to start a new pilot to get them to show up.

      You may want to add the following entries to your SquadronList.ini - what, you don't already have them. . . ? ;-)

      Add to SquadronList, renumbering from the last in line:-

      [squadronxxx]
      Name=1AVG
      DisplayName=1st Sqdn AVG - "Adam & Eves" - Sqdn. Ldr. Robert Neale
      Nation=AVG

      [squadronxxx]
      Name=2AVG
      DisplayName=2nd Sqdn AVG - "Panda Bears" - Sqdn. Ldr. John Newkirk
      Nation=AVG

      [squadronxxx]
      Name=3AVG
      DisplayName=3rd Sqdn AVG - "Hell's Angels" - Sqdn. Ldr. Arvid Olson
      Nation=AVG

      Also, make sure your NATION.INI (in the /Flight folder) has the following entry - I'm not sure if this is stock with the upgraded Nations Pack, or Charles' WW2 Formations mod, but here it is just in case:=-

      [Nationxxx]
      Name=AVG
      DisplayName=American Volunteer Group
      Alignment=FRIENDLY
      PlayerFlyable=TRUE
      Mercenary=FALSE
      PilotNameList=NamesUS.lst
      RankList=RanksUSAF.lst
      CallsignList=CallsignsUS.lst
      Formation.Fighter=WW2USFighter
      Formation.Attack=WW2USMedBomber
      Formation.Bomber=WW2USBomber
      Formation.Transport=WW2USMedBomber
      Formation.Tank=USTank
      Formation.MobileAD=USAD
      PilotTrainingStandard=GOOD
      GenderRatio=0
      DebriefSuccessMusic=DebriefSuccess.wav
      DebriefFailMusic=DebriefFail.wav
      DebriefKilledMusic=DebriefKilled.wav
      SpeechFile=USAFSpeech.cat
      SpeechTextFile=USAFSpeechText.cat
      Medals=MedalsROC.ini
      MedalTextFile=MedalsROC.str

      I have also included a new Flying Tigers themed loading screen from a "collage" I found somewhere on the web. Drop it into your Tomahawk folder and edit the Tomahawk.ini file to include the following line, replacing the old one, if you want to use it:-

      LoadingScreen=FlyingTigersLoading.bmp

      Unfortunately I can't find my note of the name of the person who made this so I can't give proper credit. Sorry! It was freely available for d/l on a "fair use" basis, so I don't think I am breaching their intention by including it here. If you recognise it, please let me know and I will add a credit, or remove it if the originator so wishes.

      You will also see a Ring-bead sight .tga and cockpit .ini which were built by Wrench, and are gratefully included in this package. Here's the instructions from Wrench's original Readme:-

      ****************************************************

      = To Install Gunsight/Cockpit ini:

      Rename your original Tomahawk_COCKPIT.INI by renaming it somehing originnal, like "ori_Tomahawk_COCKPIT.INI"
      Drop the new "Ring-Bead_Sight.tga" into the cockpit folder.
      Drop the new "Tomahawk_COCKPIT.INI" into the main Tomahawk folder.
      You're done. This will give you a nice, standard fixed sight (done in black, with a gold aim bead). It might take a little getting used to, but it's much more historically accurate, as the reflector sights didn't appear until the D model.

      As usual, I can be reached at the emal below, or on the SimHQ, Colum5 or CombatAce message boards. With thanks to Wolf for creating this bird, and to everyone else who has expanded our gaming experience into other times and places!

      Enjoy!

      That's all folks!

      Any problems, questions, complaints about these skins, you can get me at combatace. I am a fully signed up member of the "Fair Use" modding agreement at combatace, so feel free to modify these as you wish. Credit where it's due (remember the original template is by Wrench, The) and no payware, but otherwise these are fair game.

      Burma Air War 1942 campaign coming soon. . .

      Cheers,

    3. Mitsubishi G4M2 "Betty" Skin & Ini Update Pak

      G4M2 Betty Update: for SF/WoV/WoE WW2, PTO installs

      This little modification includes several small changes to the data, loadout and a partial re-skin for ArmorDave's G4M2 Betty IJN bomber. Included is also a cockpit ini (based off Pasko's Mosquito) for those perverts that like to fly bombers. The cockpit itself, however, is NOT included.

      The data ini update includes tweeks to the weapons stations, creating a semi-conformal mount for the Type 91 torpedo, slightly adjusted bomb loads, repositioning the running lights, repositioning the exhaust emitters so now each engine leaves a trail; small adjustments to the turrets, the additions of the nose and waist gunner stations; which at present are NOT working (see note below for more info and plea for help!)

      I say partial re-skin, as I'm ONLY including the one skin bmp, partly repainted to represent aircraft from 752 Kokutai. Included are individual number decals for 18 aircraft, plus one 'generic' stand-in for those off the end of the list...Only the one skin bmp is included; you'll be copy/pasting the other from the 'Green' skin folder over to the 752 skin folder.

      The other skin folder, represents aircraft from 763 Kokutai. Both the skin bmps are NOT included -- you'll be copying them over from the original "Green" skin folder.

      = You MUST have the latest Weapons Pak installed for the WW2 Weapons!!! =

      And, obviously, you must have AD's Betty installed to use the package....

      PLEASE read the enclosed readme for fairly simple, easy to follow install instructions. Also, His Imperial Majesty, the Emporer requires you read the "Other Notes" section. If not, there's an Okha with your name on it....

      Enjoy!

    6. Vought/Goodyear FG-1D Corsair (F4U-1D) Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña

      Vought/Goodyear FG-1D Corsair (F4U-1D) Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña (El Salvador Air Force)

      --for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and probably SF2

      -Part of an on-going series of mod recreating Central American Airpower

      Modifications, and a complete reskin of Wolf257s F4U Corsair into those as used by the El Salvadoran Air Force.
      This is a SEMI-COMPLETE aircraft mod, as per Wolf's wishes, the aircraft LOD is NOT included. However, EVERYTHING else is; cockpit, inis, skin, decals and so forth. The cockpit includes 2 bmps, both 'enhanced' with extra little do-dads and thingamabobs.

      The skins, from my "enhanced" template, have my patented "interperative" panel, rivet lines and other details.New decals for the individual aircraft are from historical listings. The numbers.lst, while included, is NOT active, to prevent 'running out of numbers in game'. It's just renamed, so it's easy to reactiveate it.

      You also get a new WoE style Hangar screen, all the WW2 style weapons are included in the new "folder format" for use in post-patch installs, -and- in EACH weapons folder is a ***_data.ini as used by SF2. Unfortunately, as I don't have SF2, some experimentation on your part will be required to install and get them up and running. (meaning, I'm not sure how the numberation runs...)

      This mod is designed for use with, I'm hoping, ANY weapons pak. You may just need to add a few things.

      = IMPORTANT: This aircraft has been tested in Post-Patch SF/WoV/WoE/WoI. Be advised of the existence of some handling issues prevelant in WW2 era and many Pre-Patch (ie: 06 level and eariler) aircraft. Fly accordingly!!! It should also work in SF2 and later iterations - this has NOT been tested, however.

      =MORE IMPORTANT: You =MUST= have Wolf's WW2 Planes Pak to get the LOD from. It is NOT included!!=

      Again, you can expect the usual detailed readme to browse through that's got all you need to know to, well, install it!!

      Good Luck, and Good Hunting!

    9. D3A "Val" Pearl Harbor Air Groups

      Aichi D3A "Val" Carrier Air Groups Skin Pak -- For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO installs

      "Pearl Harbor Attackers" - The Dive Bombers

      This package contains a set of 6 NEW skins for Pasko's D3A "Val", IJN carrier based dive bomber.

      These skins are designed for a 'start of the war' time frame, up until approximately Feb/March 1942, when the paint scheme began to change from the 'light gray' to a 'camo green' for the stike aircraft.

      The carrier dive bomber groups represented here are:

      Akagi
      Hiryu
      Kaga
      Shokaku
      Soryu
      Zuikaku

      as seen on the morning of 7 December, 1941, during the Attack on Pearl Harbor. This is obviously the "start of the war" paint scheme, of the light gray. Some of these aircraft also operated over China, prior to the Hawaiian Operation, and wore this same paint job.

      They are NOT 100% historical; there are a few certain liberties I've taken to make them more usable for a slightly longer timeframe than should be historically accurate (more in the "Other Notes" section below). In other words, some squadron and flight specific markings have NOT been created. Although simpler in execution, it does gaul my sense of propriety and my bent toward "as close to 100% accuracy as possible". Such is life! :(

      The skin were created using a new template I created, based on the original skins, resized to 1024, with all new panel and rivet lines; all new individual aircraft tail codes for 18-21 aircraft (depending on the ship) have also been supplied.

      Also included are modified data, loadout and cockpit inis. The loadout ini uses the correct WW2 Japanese bombs, the data and cockpit inis have been 'metric-ized' to show meters, kilometers per hour, etc (like I've done for several other Axis aircraft). NEW damage tgas have also been created and included, for that shot-up look. My Hangar and Loading screens are here as well, for those that might want to use them.

      = IMPORTANT: These aircraft are designed for use in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-, It has =NOT= been tested it in post 8/28/08 patch WoI, or post 9/08 - 10/08 patch SF/WoV/WoE. You use it in these enviroments at YOUR own risk. =

      = This mod is designed for use with the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06, as it contains all the needed weapons . If attempting to use this aircraft with any other weapons pak, you'll need to add ALL the WW2 era bombs, torpedoes, etc. They are NOT included in this package. =

      Full, detailed instructions are in the enclosed readme. The Commander of the Combined Fleets REQUIRES that you read it ... or take the Honorable Way Out...

      BLACKBURN Ripon

      A further use for SkippyBing's excellent Blackburn Baffin.

      The Blackburn Ripon was a pre-war carrier-borne torpedo-bomber and reconaissance aircraft, a development of the Swift, Dart and Velos family. The Ripon was a conventional biplane which was first flown in 1928. In total 123 were built and there were in addition 25 Blackburn Ripon II F: a Finnish assembled Ripon. Based on 1 production Ripon acquired from Great Britain in 1928, 25 were subsequently assembled in Finland under licence in 1931-34. The Finns used a number of different engines with the Ripon in service until 1944.

      The only preserved Blackburn Ripon (RI-140), has an Armstrong-Siddely Panther radial engine. It is stored in Päijänne Tavastia Aviation Museum in Asikkala, Finland

    13. Pcpilots' Yak-15 YakPack

      This is the "YakPack Camo" skins for the Yak-15 Feather aircraft model for Strike Fighters made by Pasko. These two camo skins were never to my knowledge used on the Yak-15. All I have seen are single color (top view) aircraft like the 3 skins included by Pasko with the model. However, I thought it would be nice to make a couple camo pattern skins. And since this aircraft is really a modified late war propeller Yak, I figured a WW2 late war camo Yak pattern would be a nice place to start. I then also did a green MiG version of the same pattern. So the colors and patterns are authentic. You might consider this a "might have been" paint job if the plane had saw more extensive service and espesially combat in Korea. Which I might add is the install of SFP1 I use this plane in.
      I also included the Yak-3 cockpit done by Kesslebrut. This is closer to the avionics used by a converted piston fighter which the yak-15 was than the A-4 Skyhawk cockpit used previously. I noticed I can also now see my Yak-15s' wings on either side were I couldnt previously with the A-4 'pit. The Yak-3 'pit is used with the Yak-3 model done by Pasko and Kesslebrut. Along with the Yak-3 cockpit, I included the Yak-3_cockpit.ini files.
      UPDATE: Cocpit position tweak to realistic postion thanks to Charles. :)

    17. VF-871 RCN Sqn for the Sea Fury

      VF-871 RCN Squadron for the Hawker Sea Fury FB.11/Mk.50
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      History:
      ~~~~~~~~

      The RCN equipped Nos 803 and 883 Squadrons (later designated VF-870 and VF-871) with the Hawker SEA FURY. these squadrons flew 75 Sea Furies from February, 1948 to April, 1957 operating from both HMCS Magnificent and its replacement, HMCS Bonaventure. One of the Sea Fury's acquired was a Mk.10 while the other 74 were F.B. Mk.11s. These were both single seat fighters and fighter-bombers, and were similar except that the Mk 11s were equipped to carry the 100/1,000 pound jettisonable wing bomb carriers. The outer portions of the wings of both models could be folded upwards hydraulically to facilitate stowage below decks on an aircraft carrier.

      Installation:
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      You must first have the SeaFury_v1 bt Simon Porter in order to install these skins.
      Unzip to your /Objects/Aircraft/SeaFury folder.
      Go fly
      *I have also included RCN themed Loading and Hangar screens. backup your originals just in case you don't like mine. Thanks to RCAF.com and Airliners.net for the images and information.
      Credits:
      ~~~~~~~~
      I would like to thank Simon Porter for all the hard work he put into creating the Sea Fury. Thanks to Saguanay for reference material and also to David Hanvey and Paul Barry who created a wonderful FS 2004 model of the Sea Fury which I used as reference.
      Have fun!

    18. F4F-4 Wildcat, VF-41, MTO "Torch"

      Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat, VF-41 'Operation Torch' Skin & Ini Pak

      for SF/SFG/WoV/WoE WW2: MTO Installs

      =Version 2.0 - will update and REPLACE the original from 2005=

      This package contains a new skin, and some minor data & cockpit ini mods for Pasko's F4F-4 "Wildcat". It is designed to TOTALLY replace the VF-41 version released several years ago.

      The skin represents VF-41 "Red Rippers" based aboard USS RANGER during Operation Torch, the Invasion of North Africa (well, actually, we all know it was Morocco and Tunisia, but why quibble???)

      This new skin, like the other Wildcat skins I've done recently, is from my home-grown template, with all redrawn panel, rivet and other details. It has been resized to 1024x, so has a bit more detail than the older 512 version. All new decals, of the correct font and size have been created for the Modex and BuNums. The BuNums ARE for -4 Wildcats, but I was unable to acertain WHICH exact numbers were used by VF-41 during Torch. So, consider them as 'generic'; accurate, but generic <grin>

      For those that haven't updated their MTO install's F4F-4, all the inis and sounds from the PTO Wildcat Upgrade are included; new data, cockpit and Main ini --so make sure you follow the instructions below!!!
      The cockpit ini makes use of a new WW2 N-3 gunsight tga.
      Like it's PTO brother, the canopy has been switched to an animation key (shift/0). The wingfold stays the same as originally issued; you use the bomb-bay control key (cntrl/O). As always, all the lights have been updated with accurate running, formation and landing lights. Also, the landing gear retraction sound is now the 'rachet' noise, as heard in the PTO upgrades.
      A new WoE-style 'carrier deck' hangar screen, JUST for this mod is included (as it uses the VF41 skin)

      As always, it's reccomended you unzip this package to a temp folder or your desktop, or somewhere's else that's easy to find to gain access to the rest of this readme for full, detailed install instructions.

    20. NAA P-51D Mustang, Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña

      NAA P-51D Mustang, Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña (El Salvador Air Force) for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and probably SF2

      -Part of an on-going series of mod recreating Central American Airpower

      Modifications, and a complete reskin of Wolf257s P-51D Mustang into those as used by the El Salvadoran Air Force.
      This is a SEMI-COMPLETE aircraft mod, as per Wolf's wishes, the aircraft LOD is NOT included. However, EVERYTHING else is; cockpit, inis, skin, decals and so forth.

      The camo pattern, also is "interperative" at best. Much conflicting data exists as to how and with what colors the FAS painted their Mustangs, as well as the pattern used. This should be considered a 'generic' style, blending what data I could find into something reasonably passable (or as they used to say, 'reasonable facsimile thereof) the schemes as used.

      You also get a new WoE style Hangar screen, all the weapons WW2 style weapons are included in the new "folder format" for use in post-patch installs, -and- in EACH weapons folder is a ***_data.ini as used by SF2.

Be advised of the existence of some handling issues prevelant in WW2 era and many Pre-Patch (ie: 06 level) aircraft. Fly accordingly!!! It should also work in SF2 and later iterations - this has NOT been tested, however.

      =MORE IMPORTANT: You =MUST= have Wolf's WW2 Planes Pak to get the LOD from. It is NOT included!!=

      As per usual, there's a nice readme involved with installation, so give a look at, please!

      Happy Landings!
