    1. Sopwith Triplane - Dual Gun

The Sopwith Triplane, also known as the "Tripe" or "Tripehound," was introduced at the end of 1916. By mid 1917, several British and French naval squadrons were equipped with the plane. The narrow chord of the three staggered wings gave the pilot an excellent field of view and gave the plane an exceptional rate of climb as well as outstanding agility. The Triplane was considered an exceptional fighter and stayed in service until replaced by the Sopwith Camel in late 1917. Captured Sopwith Triplanes inspired the development of the more famous Fokker Dr.1.
My model of the Sopwith Triplane has the smaller tail assembly introduced early in 1917. Earlier planes had a larger tail plane nearly identical to the tail of the Sopwith Pup. Most Triplanes were equipped with a single Vickers machine gun mounted on the fuselage. A small number of Sopwith Triplanes had two guns. This is the two gun version.
My Sopwith Triplane has a skin, with appropriate decals, for the "Black Flight" of the RNAS 10 squadron. Note - these skins are NOT interchangeable with the skins for my other Sopwith Triplanes.
A fully functional cockpit is included, along with my skinning templates. I have included a sound file for the Clerget 130 hp engine, but you may already have it.
      Credits
Although he's very busy these days, Ojcar found the time to make the FM for this plane. My thanks to him.
The sound file included with this plane came with Sinbad's series of Sopwith Strutters, so you may already have it. I included it with this download in case you don't.
      Historical Note
The Black Flight had five planes, each with its name painted at the cockpit. I have added 15 fictitious names in order to complete the decal set.
      Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SopwithTripe2Gun" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
My Triplane uses the sound file that came with Sinbad's series of Strutters, so you may already have it. If you don't, copy the file named "RotaryEngineClerget130" from my Sounds folder into your FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SopwithTripe2Gun" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "SopwithTripe2Gun". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/SopwithTripe2Gun folder into the Decals/SopwithTripe2Gun folder you just made.
My Triplane uses the sound file that came with Sinbad's series of Strutters, so you may already have it. If you don't, copy the file named "RotaryEngineClerget130" from my Sounds folder into your FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

The first planes produced had a tail plane nearly identical to the tail of the Sopwith Pup. Early planes also had a 110hp Clerget engine. A smaller tail plane was introduced early in 1917. The engine was also replaced with a more powerful 130hp Clerget engine.
This is an early version of the Sopwith Triplane with a wider tail and lower powered engine. It has two skins, one French and one British, with appropriate decals. Note - these skins are NOT interchangeable with the skins for my other Sopwith Triplanes.

I have included a sound file for the Clerget engine created by Nixou. It has been used on other planes, so you may already have it. I included it with this download in case you don't.

      known issues:
Painting the stripes in spirals was a problem because at the end of the tail's aircraft, there is a distortion that pulls all the lines back. I connected the stripes with each other as far as was possible; so you may notice imperfections in the bottom side.

    22. Halberstadt CL.II

The Halberstadt CL.II was a German, 2 seat fighter/escort plane. The CL.II was designed to be an escort for reconnaissance flights. Its excellent maneuverability made it a match for single seat fighters and its field of fire made it an excellent ground attack plane. It entered service in August 1917 and was used in large numbers until the end of the war.
The Halberstadt CL.II had a plywood fuselage and was powered by a six-cylinder Mercedes D.III engine. It had a 7.92mm Spandau machine gun in the front fuselage for the pilot and a 7.92mm Parabellum gun on a ring mount for the observer. It could also carry a light bomb load. My version has a rack for 10 stick grenades mounted on the fuselage.
My download includes a hex camo skin, appropriate decals, and a fully functional cockpit. My skinning templates are included with the download.
I have included a sound file for the Mercedes D.III engine. The same sound has been used with other planes and you may already have it installed. I have included the sound file with the download in case you don't have it.

      Credits
My thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Halberstadt CL.II and for making improvements to the guns.
My thanks to Nixou for making the sound file for the Mercedes engine many years ago.

      Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "HalberstadtCL2" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
If you don't already have it, move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" from my "Sounds" into your "Sounds" folder.

For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "HalberstadtCL2" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "HalberstadtCL2." Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/HalberstadtCL2 folder into the Decals/HalberstadtCL2 folder you just made.
If you don't already have it, move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" from my "Sounds" into your "Sounds" folder. If you don't have a Sounds folder, you can make one.

    24. Armchair Aces over Italy

Welcome WWI buffs! This is a mammoth compilation of a series covering the (mostly) complete air war in Italian Front in WWI.
The entire war is divided in mini-campaigns of a month-10 missions. I'm using the shockingly beautiful CaporettoV2 map by Gterl. You'll have about 25 mini-campaigns and 250 missions per pilot!
The beauty of this approach is that you can simulate unit transfers for your pilot. You can start as a two seater pilot (as most Austro-Hungarians did), and then be "transferred" to a fighter unit.
This mod is intended for FE2. FE1 pilots will need to edit the campaigns to fly them, for example changing the name of the planes like AlbatrosD5_170 to AlbatrosD5 or something like that....Please, don't ask me for a FE1 version. I'm doing 117 campaigns for the entire series and it's a lot of work!!!! Nevertheless, if someone want to make an FE1 version it has my agreement (if it's free for the people, of course).
So, be ready for a downloading fest.
Before installing this mod it's better you have an Italy only install for your FE2

    25. Cockpits for Laton's Fokker E-Types

I modified the cockpit from my Fokker D.II to make new cockpits for all eight of Laton's Fokker Eindeckers. Each cockpit has a fully functional stick, rudder control, throttle, and gauges, including the wing mounted compass. The cockpits are basically the same, but each has been tweaked to make it fit into Laton's fuselage and to reflect differences in the type (like the number of guns in the E.IV planes.)
I have sorted everything into the appropriate folders for easy installation.
My thanks to Laton for having made so many planes that we are still flying today.
      Installation Instructions
For both FE1 and FE2- For each plane, delete Laton's original cockpit folder and cockpit.ini file and replace them with mine.
