This project started with a little mod here and there to make the Vipers more modern. FastCargo started the PM thread on 28 Jul 2011 and here we are 10 months later we have this.

 


This mod is dedicated to Oli (bpao) he started us on this journey and I hope, I really hope, we lived up to his expectations.

on the D/I (Barak,Brakeet,Sufa) models they should be done in the loadout_ini , on the C model only the the Barak_II has the capability for the laser pods on the chin_station the blk30 Barak did not have them but all single seaters did not cary this pods to mark there targets the target illumination was done by the D/I versions

 

so for the F-16C Barak_II you can select the targeting pods in the loadout menu like you can do on the D/I version , if you like to have them

ok thanx ravenclaw i added them to weapons but i only have one laser desgnator the sufa usually have to laser designators if u made ur on the sufa can u send me the file thanx a lot

do you have the laser pods from any other of the F-16 packs ???? if not you may have to download them from there it seems we forget to include them in this pack , sorry

yes i have them ravenclaw i already added one pod on the right side i just wanna add another one on the left side of the sufa how can i do that

if you have all pods they should be there , in the loadout menu you can select them

 

this is what you should see

yea but in the loadout of f16I sufa i only see one loadout wich is on the right side but the sufa had to pods how can i add another pod from the left side of it thank u a lot for helping me ravenclaw

as i mention the 1 AAQ-14/AAQ-13 LANTIRN Pods and 1AAQ-28/AAQ-13 Litening Pods are the ones with 2 pods one on the left and one on the right side of the intake , you can not see the actual mounting possition in the loadout menu

 

we thought that it makes it cleaer when we write pod and pods as for 1 and more than 1

they are linked to a "centerline station" called chin_station , there is no other way that we can do that

ravenclaw after 9 hours of experiments i did it i added the aaq-13 as a fake pilot and now i have 2 pylons anyone who would love to try it let me no and ill send u guys the data file amazing plane thank u all for who did this lovely addon

Having a problem setting up a custom Strike mission for the F16i, as it appears most of the ordnance is not available. Are these available in other F16 aircraft created by the Viper Team?

 

For example, neither the GBU-10D nor the AIM-120B appear as loaded or as options to select for loading.

dave add F-16E/F Block 60 an infra-red search and track (IRST) system (sometimes known as infra-red sighting and tracking)from Mig-29 Mod.

 

An infra-red search and track (IRST) system (sometimes known as infra-red sighting and tracking) is a method for detecting and tracking objects which give off infrared radiation such as jet aircraft and helicopters.[1]

IRST is a generalized case of forward looking infrared (FLIR), i.e. from forward-looking to all-round situational awareness. Such systems are passive, meaning they do not give out any radiation of their own, unlike radar. This gives them the advantage that they are difficult to detect.

However, because the atmosphere attenuates infra-red to some extent (although not as much as visible light) and because adverse weather can attenuate it also (again, not as badly as visible systems), the range compared to a radar is limited. Angular resolution at short ranges is better than radar due to the shorter wavelength.

 

The best known users of modern IRST systems are:

These aircraft carry the IRST systems for use in lieu of their radars when the situation warrants it, such as when shadowing other aircraft or under the control of Airborne Early Warning and Control(AWACS) aircraft or Ground-controlled interception(GCI), where an external radar is being used to help vector them onto a target and the IRST is used to pick up and track the target once they are in range.

 

With infra-red homing or fire-and-forget missiles, the aircraft may be able to fire upon the targets without having to turn their radar sets on at all. Otherwise, they can turn the radar on and achieve a lock immediately before firing if desired. They could also close to within cannon range and engage that way.

 

Whether or not they use their radar, the IRST system can still allow them to launch a surprise attack.

 

An IRST system may also have a regular magnified optical sight slaved to it, to help the IRST-equipped aircraft identify the target at long range. As opposed to an ordinary forward looking infrared system, an IRST system will actually scan the space around the aircraft similarly to the way in which mechanically (or even electronically) steered radars work. The exception to the scanning technique is the F-35 JSF's DAS, which stares in all directions simultaneously, and automatically detects and declares aircraft and missiles in all directions, without a limit to the number of targets simultaneously tracked.

 

When they find one or more potential targets they will alert the pilot(s) and display the location of each target relative to the aircraft on a screen, much like a radar. Again similarly to the way a radar works, the operator can tell the IRST to track a particular target of interest, once it has been identified, or scan in a particular direction if a target is believed to be there (for example, because of an advisory from AWACS or another aircraft).

 

Note that, like infra-red homing seekers, an IRST is more likely to detect a target with its engine exhaust pointed towards the detector than away from it. This means that many jet aircraft will be detected at longer ranges if they are flying away from the IRST-equipped aircraft rather than towards it. However, most IRST systems are sensitive enough to detect the heat of a jet from head-on as well, either infra-red energy generated from the hot air coming out of the engines, from air friction heating the airframe, or both.

 

IRST systems can incorporate laser rangefinders in order to provide full fire-control solutions for cannon fire or launching missiles. The combination of an atmospheric propagation model, the apparent surface of the target, and target motion analysis (TMA) IRST can calculate the range.
