The default install of this mod pack requires SF2NA merged in your install. If you don't have SF2NA in your install base, you have to install the files in the "Non_SF2NA_Patch" folder for the avionics to function properly. See installation section for more details.

This is my iteration/update of the F-22A Raptors originally released by the "Raptor Team". The lion's share of the work was done by the "Raptor Team" - so I DO NOT take credit for ANY of their wonderful work. What I did was upgrade the original package with various other packages released over the years (All noted in the credits). Other than that, I've recreated and tweaked the skins to my liking, added some new squadrons, and created all new decals for the planes. Comes complete with new Hangar, Loading and Loadout files as well. The original package can be downloaded with the following and/or the links in the Credits sections...

What's included in this mod pack?
-------------------------------------------------------------

 

Included in this package are the 7th, 14th, 22nd, 27th, 36th, 43rd, 80th, 90th, 94th, 95th, 199th, 411th, 422nd, 433rd, 493rd, and 525th USAF F-22 Squadrons. All squadrons have the complete compliment of tail numbers. Some F-22s were re-deployed from Virginia and Hawaii to Europe (Germany/England) and Asia (Korea) as a deterrence (preparation) force for the current tension in the regions.

Installation:
-------------------------------------------------------------

 

! As always, I recommend that you back up your mod folder before you install any new mod...just in case.

 

* To install, simply copy the contents of the "To_Mod_Folder" folder to your StrikeFighter2 mod folder and Overwrite as required.

 

My StrikeFighter2 mod on Win97 64-bit was..(yours may be different)...

 

C:\Users\<your_id>\Saved Games\Thirdwire\StrikeFighter2...

 

* If you have a merged SF2NA installed, then you are done...If not, you have one more step...

 

Open the "\Optional\Non_SF2NA_Patch" folder and copy the contents of the "To_Mod_Folder" folder to your StrikeFighter2 mod folder and Overwrite as required.

 

* Lastly, please read the "F-22A SoundList Add.txt" to install the sound files.

 

Now you are done...

NOTE: The NON-JHMCS Pilot is the default in this pack. If you want to use the JHMCS Pilot, please update the [Pilot] section of the "F-22A_DATA.ini" file. Remove the "//" from the "PilotModelName=F22A_JHMCS" line and add "//" to the "PilotModelName=F22A_Pilot" line. And Save...

Sorry to say that viper, but this pilot came directly out of the '60s. I 'll check the rest of the pack later but the rest seems to me to be perfect.

I think that loadouts with external weapons under wings look a little bit odd because they significantly increase the radar cross section of the aircraft. One of the biggest advantages of the F-22 is its stealth capability, although it is not properly featured in SF2. I think that the loadouts should be more realistic which means limited to internal weapon bays. I also think that you should replace GBU-39 with GBU-40 in Anti-Ship and Attack loadouts. GBU-40s are able to hit moving targets while GBU-39s are not. I would also suggest to replace GBU-39 in Strike loadout with GBU-31, GBU-32 or AGM-154C.

I might check some loadouts from two other games/simulators I own based on the F-22, although the loadouts were just based on guessing at the time these two games were made. Let's also keep in mind that the F-22, while it is indeed a stealth fighter jet, would carry external weapons too in case things get hot and in order to maximize the firepower against aerial targets (or even ground targets, but the F-22 was born for air superiority, even though it is capable of multirole ops).

Hey K, I took your suggestion. V1.8 will have the load out you suggested. V1.8 will have the fix for the missing hook skin that Coupi reported as well. There will be a full pack and patch...

As of V2.2, there is a requirement for SF2NA for this mod as the F-22As will now use the latest F-14 Avionics. If you do not have SF2NA, you may have to revert the changes in the F-22A.INI file for this mod to work properly in non-SF2NA installs.

You can download the "Full v2.2 Mod Pack" (Recommended) or the v2.2 "Patch Only" (not both) to upgrade from v2.0 to v2,2.

Hello...Thanks for the mod...It's Awesome! but i've got a problem...After i install this plane, The exterior of this plane is fine but the Cockpit doesn't show up So there is no cockpit. Just the HUD crosshair in the middle. Can you Help me please

I just tested the mod, everything seems to be fine on my end? Do you have a full merged install?  I have a full suite of SF2 plus all the updates and DLCs...What is your install?

Did you download the full pack or just the patch? If just the patch, try the full pack.

Do you have SF2NA? If not, try editing the F-22A.INI file as stated in the post above yours.

Other than that? I have no idea why it is not working for you...

Mine's Full Pack...I don't have SF2NA. F-22A.INI edited already but still not working...I try to put COCKPIT.INI files from dave's Raptor and it works!...Did you know what happen??

Hmmm...you didn't have SF2NA?...interesting. I have no idea why it didn't work, but I am guessing not having SF2NA had something to do with it. Maybe Dave's Cockpit ini does not use something you were missing by not having SF2NA? Maybe I will add his cockpit ini in the next pack in the Extras folder as a patch for people without SF2NA...Wondering if anyone else had this issue? I am glad you got it working...

Reality catches up with Combat Ace. In 2015, I designed this this pack with a fictional deployment...

So Raptors eventually based in Korea made not be fictional after all....

Hello, I just installed this MOD and the skins are not working. Also, when flying, I'm getting lag in the performance. Do you why this could be? I installed all the files under the main SF2 mod folder. I have the full SF2 version with all the updates and modules (North Atlantic, Vietnam, etc.)
