Here's a simple mission. It has a convoy of 4 ships. One problem that I have not figure out is why the ships are going at 25 knots, they should be going at 2.

 

The only two ships you can use are CargoShip or Tanker, there is a mod where a carrier can be used instead of the cargo ship

 

BTW Pasko, I got a WeaponData.ini from one of your downloads, besides the Kitchen there were other missiles. Do you have those models too?

This is good...just what I needed, to start up some anti shipping stuff.

The Carrier we can add to the ground objects as a separate object as the Soviet DD.

 

I did the the Carrier to Cargoship thing just because it was easy to do.

 

Now let me see if if I can make a mission with the Carrier, the Soviet DD, the Container Ship and Tanker all in one...

I need help to make the Ships hostile and fire at aircraft, any takers on the object.ini for the various ships?

The USN CV-41 is getting reworked

I can give it a try, I was able to get SAM's to shoot at me with my custom mission, they are kinda of dumb, they just blast away. I am trying to figure out how to get them to lock.

Beer is there any ship you are not making, I would like to

try to make working ships AA and SAM's?

 

I was thinking of Maddox, but saw you have Sumner Class?

Have you something small with guns and missiles?

I tried to add weapons to the ships. This is what I found out

 

- There is a Patrol Boat (Object name is PatrolBoat) that has a dual 23mm guns, they do shoot at you

 

- I can add a weapons class to a ship but no ground object. For example the SAM Launcher cannot be seen but the SA-2 missile can. BTW, I have a hoky SAM floating in the air above the deck of a ship and they do shoot at you.

 

- I cannot attach ground object or gun object to the ships. I cannot add a gun mount to the ships

 

I wish that the models could be changed via the ini files, for example adding a different gun mount to a M113 chassis or a AAA gun mount to the boat

 

Anyway, If anyone else can shed a light or give me some pointers on what I may be doing wrong (or not doing) it will help me along

I have tried about everything I can think of. Do you have a cargoship_data.ini that makes the ship shoot at aircraft. If I am given one that works I think I can modify it to reflect the guns positions (they will not trak but the gunfire will come from there approximate locations.

 

I am fixing on giving up, and moving on.

Here is Komar firing. So far can't get two turrets on Osa and Shershen to fire at the same time, maybe limitation in game.

Pasco I tried PMing ya but it is hanging in my out box...

Anyways...Naturally...How did ya do that! LOL

 

This is what I am thinking...

 

In Max you made objects named turrent and barrel, assisned the axis and hieracy,

 

Edited the .ini from the patrol boat to match your new creation and it worked?

 

I think why it is not working is I did not name the gun parts per the .ini entries...

 

Anyways this is a great advancement to ship making! I will likely have to detail the guns better, if I can get them to work as you did yours!
