hey biosurge, extract the PARTICLESYSTEM.INI from the Flight.cat file. Open this .INI with wordpad and then find the next thing...

thank you for the prompt response. i tried the download from biohaz central and was not able to get a satisfactory flame color. i understood it was supposed to be a purplish color but i get the same as before...is there something more to the install that the instructions do not explain???

the ini file explanation, did you already have the changes in it to make the flame longer???

or what do i need to change to get the desired effect...

good thing i am not in the game my wife would try to change my flame too....sorry bad joke..

There should be nothing more than dropping the tga file into the flight folder to change the color. I am not sure how it works in conjunction with any changes to the .ini file. This effect only changes the color, not lengthen the flame... sorry if I got confused about that.

Edit these lines

EmissionVolume=0.010000,0.010000,0.010000

ParticleSizeTableType=TABLE

ParticleSize[01].Time=0.000000

ParticleSize[01].Value=0.450000

ParticleSize[02].Time=0.100000

ParticleSize[02].Value=0.520000

ParticleSize[03].Time=0.600000

ParticleSize[03].Value=0.500000

ParticleSize[04].Time=0.800000

ParticleSize[04].Value=0.350000

ParticleSize[05].Time=1.000000

ParticleSize[05].Value=0.000000

ParticleSizeDeviation=0.035000

these should change the length the of burner. Just "tinker" around with the section. if that section doesn't then I'm not sure how to make it longer. If you want I can test things out for you.

evil milk, cylix, thanks again for your help...can you please explain how time and value of the particle size effects the flame length..what do the values mean in terms of graphic display..thanks biosurge

bio,

I think it goes like this. not sure I will have to test it out, I will do it sometime tonight here or tommorw.

EmissionVolume=0.010000,0.010000,0.010000 - this I think it the main one you will be editing. Emission means, like how much something is coming out.. so that would be the best bet.

ParticleSizeTableType=TABLE

ParticleSize[01].Time=0.000000

ParticleSize[01].Value=0.450000

ParticleSize[02].Time=0.100000

ParticleSize[02].Value=0.520000

ParticleSize[03].Time=0.600000

ParticleSize[03].Value=0.500000

ParticleSize[04].Time=0.800000

ParticleSize[04].Value=0.350000

ParticleSize[05].Time=1.000000

ParticleSize[05].Value=0.000000

ParticleSizeDeviation=0.035000

Time I think means how many secs that particle "flows", and I think the particles flow repeatly.. not sure about that.

Value means, (I think agian) how much particles are in that certian number.

I will have to test this, I will report back with the results of my tests

i was able to make the modifications to the afterburner. i am still tweaking the effect. it is much longer and i was able to retain the texture of the flame, had some really interesting mistakes though.

at one time it looked like there were bubbles coming out of the exhaust..when i have the flame looking better, i will post the changes and the pics....one question though. i can't get the flame to lay onto the runway instead of disapearing into the asphalt...any suggestions??? joe biosurge
