Do you know that there are only two European countries, which were involved in the WW 2 and were never occupied during the War or afterwards? Can you name these Countries?

Iceland and Malta

Iceland was initally under the protection of Denmark then it was occupied by the UK after Denmark fell. In 1940 US Marines relieved the UK garrision to free up troops to protect the home islands.

Malta was under the protection of the UK through out the course of the war.

Yeah, wasn't sure about that as it was under our protection before and after, like Singapore but more successful!

<nitpick>emm, the UK is actually 4 separate countries on it's own so the question is obviously wrong ... :tomato: </nitpick>

What's your classification of "involved"?

e.g. neutral countries may not have been involved in the actual combat but still had some involvement e.g. Spain, Switzerland etc.

He could mean Sweden and Switzerland.

Both these countries were involved in WW2 defending thier neturality. The Swiss were a little more aggressive about it then the Swedes. Reports from the Allied Nations and from the Axis talk about aircraft flying into thier terrority and then being engaged by the Swiss Air Force and AAA, sometimes with deadly resoultions. The Swedes meanwhile would escort anyone who had strayed into the first airfield that was large enough and then proceed to intern them as required by international aggreement.

Greece was occupied by the Germans after the Italians had problems against the Greeks and British. I think that Turkey was a neutral nation during World War 2

well the UK/GB is obviously 1 (well actually 4 or 3  ) unless you rule it out due to the Channel Isles (which are Crown dependencies & not actually part of the UK).

Russia attacked Finland in the winter of 1939-40 & Finland ended up losing some land to Russia in the treaty that followed but the government stayed intact.

Blast! Southernap beat me to my answer, Swedan and Swiss ahhh Vannia. No stab at the Swiss, My thought is they would be more insulted by my spelling skills then my bafoonery. For some reason I ruled out islands that were only bombed an infiltrated. Too my knowledge the Swiss and Swedes were not economicly neutral but were immune to hostile acts that we take great joy with in our sims. What about Spain and Portugal? CL

Correct. Also congratulations. Great Britain or United Kingdom. Actually I have ment GB. United Kingdom is large political union. If you are interested, look at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom.

Finland fought two times against Soviet Union, first Winter War 1939-40 and then the

Continuation War 26th 1941 - 1944.

After the war, Finland preserved its independence and democracy
