make a fake RocketPod with the Weapon Editor and use the missiles for it. Ripple speed for the pods can be set with the editor.

ever seen all aspect, IR or AHM 2.75 in FFARs fired from an LAU-3 pod .... :D

;)

Someone on another forum mentioned this to me, and I tried it and just couldn't get it to work.

Can you paste something you've done similar?

I took one of the existing RocketPods (The Lau-32 HE I think) and replaced the rocket with an Aim9M by editing the .ini file.

But it didn't seem to work.

Ahhh...didn't Crusader say 'IR or AHM 2.75 FFARs"? He made no mention of AIM-9s or AIM-120s or AIM-7s. In other words, modify the FFARs (using the weapon editor), eqiuipping them with the aforementioned seeker type(s).

Sooo....logically I thought that simply replacing the missile names should work..and guess what! It Does work *grin*. :good:

I must have been editing the wrong LAU launcher before, and never actually using it!

So anyways, this time I Copied an existing launcher with 32 rockets and then changed the missile type name to AIM-9X. Entered the game and picked a plane which was able to use the launcher (USAF) and then entered the game.

Clicking to bring up my A2G weapons brought a surprising Sidewinder Growl! :clapping:

The HUD though, switched to A2G mode.

I was able to close on a bandit and when within parameters let loose a few Aim-9X 'rockets' and the missiles tracked successfully after launch.

I created another and used Aim-120Cs, and by using Visual mode and slaving the radar to the visual target (Shift - Ins) once within launch parameters I was able to fire off a few Aim120s and they also tracked correctly to target.

Here is my WeaponData.ini snippet:

Now I may have used the wrong launcher type in the first place, these are just ugly boxes with holes beneath for bomblets, but you can use whichever 3D Model you like really :)

Based on this you can replace the rockets in the launchers with jsut about any missile type, say AGM-65Gs or HARMs for example, and implement the typical Anime "Missile Swarm" ^_^

What would be great is if we could somehow connect these altered RocketPods to the A2A modes, but I highly doubt that would be possible.

About the Missile Pods...Just tried using Gel's ini with AIM-9X instead of AMRAAMs...it works, but...

Do you guys think there's a way to link them to A2A mode? So that one could hear the lockon tone and make effective use of Sideys' off-boresight capabilities...Or just implementing the usual seeker operation would be enough...Maybe changing them to EOGR guidance w/ IR backup??? so they would track on their own......

This may be a dumb question, but maybe somebody actually found a way to do it...God's Ways are Infinite...XDXDXD

By the Way, a Tomcat with Hitory's VF-1D Valkyrie skin and a pair of those beauties is a REAL killing machine...Just give those Sideys their usual sensor FOV and you're off for a journey to Flankers' Hell!!!

"two weeks"= Whenever it's completed, aka. It'll be done when it's done and not a hard time for release.

Will there be an enemy for this.

i mean you can shoot down so many migs and Sukhois till you want a better target.

Will the Enemy fighters from Macross Zero be made anytime soon?

Same response bro, we at CA don't know when a modder comes around and finishes a project, so we sometimes know as much as you do. And in this case nobody knows jack at the moment. Foxmonter just sorta disapeared so it's only speculation on what's up.

There is a thread at Simhq with his SV-51 model in it that I think you might be interested in, koushiro. I don't have the exact link unfortunately.

Here's a question?

I wonder if Hitory will be looking at skinning these's just like the F-14's. Cause if he does, I won't be able to get away from my computer ever again!

OMG the "NEW" guy,

Brian

i sugest that you base the code off of the harrier as a start to the trasformation proces, that is if you want to go that far.

Absolutely BEAUTIFULL!!! O_o!!! I just LOVE Anime, and specially the Macross series, and there are so many awesome models designed by Mr. Shoji Kawamori, that I don´t know where to start to comment... The only sad thing is that these inspiring machines are far beyond reality, so that in my opinion, actual jet fighters and ground targets won´t have a chance against a standard Valkyrie, even, if it`s unarmed... I hope that someone talented could create the Zentraedis Battlepods as an answer to this effort. ^_^

According to the designs and what I`ve seen in the Macross series/movies, these fighters can lock on multiple targets at once, showing them in the HUD like small hexagons, and discriminating at the same time between friend and foes, giving also an accurate description of the target. The thrusters in all Varitechs also, play a crucial role, being directionable devices, almost like the pitch ailerons of an A5 Vigilante, but working like thrusters. Varitechs also carries chaffs, remember that glorius combat between Max and Miriya. They also have armor devices, making them capable of hiting other objects without suffering substancial damage...

And, well... I think it´s a bautifull idea to reproduce somehow this fantastic machines, but I can´t imagine what must be done to finish them with the complete capabilities of transformation, and the resulting flying and firing configurations... For example, the FIGHTER mode is quite different from the GERWALK mode (that works maybe like some kind of hovercraft), and finally the BATTROID mode, that works almost like a high speed maneuvarable helicopter, even with a soldier capabilities, handling the gunpods like a regular handgun, handling also shields and other objetcs just like a regular robot... And even the avionics of the VF`s allows them to reach space with their own engines... Remember also these little thrusters on the wings and fuselage, that allows them to roll and yaw...

Ufff... Anyway, I will be happy just experimenting and watching a regular VF, but there`s so much that can be commented about the Macross series Mechs. I`ll be looking forward too about this project of course. The pilot you`re making looks just awesome!!
