Korea 1956 Campaign for Strike Fighters PJ1

By David J. Slavens

davidslavens@classicnet.net

Well after about 12 hours of editing I have come up with this little campaign for all to enjoy.

Unzip the folder and you will see to sub folders. One called Campaigns and one called terrain. Drop them in your main SF folder and overwrite. Yes overwrite.

Things you will need:

Get the F-86 skins from Avsim under the Strike Fighters Repaints category.

Phase 1: The Skins

[AirUnit001]

AircraftType=F86-40

UnitName=461st Fighter Day Squadron

Squadron=461FDS

StartDate=1/1/1956

ForceID=2

Nation=USAF

DefaultTexture=USAFCamo ß------------------- Make sure you have this texture installed

StartNumber=1

BaseArea=K12 AB

[AirUnit002]

AircraftType=Canadair

UnitName=JBG31 "Boelcke"

Squadron=WGJBG31

StartDate=1/2/1956

ForceID=2

Nation=WGermany

DefaultTexture=444RCAF ß------------------- Make sure you have this texture installed

StartNumber=1

BaseArea=K13 AB

So on and so forth with the rest of the air units.

These are what the default textures are set for in the campaign data file. Make sure you have these planes in the folder that the arrows are pointing to. Failing to do any of this will result in skinless planes.

Phase 2: Squadrons

Add this to your SquadronList found in your Pilot data folder.

xx being the next number in the sequence of squadron you have in the file.

[squadron0xx]

Name=3SQ

DisplayName=No. 3 Squadron

Nation=Australia

[squadron0xx]

Name=336FIS

DisplayName=336th FIS

Nation=USAF

[squadron0xx]

Name=67FBS

DisplayName=67th FBS

Nation=USAF

[squadron0xx]

Name=80FBS

DisplayName=80th FBS

Nation=USAF

[squadron0xx]

Name=144FBS

DisplayName=144th FBS AKANG

Nation=USAF

[squadron0xx]

Name=444Sq

DisplayName=444th Squadron RCAF

Nation=Canada

[squadron0xx]

Name=20Sq

DisplayName=20th Squadron RAF

Nation=RAF

[squadron0xx]

Name=18FBS

DisplayName=18th FBS

Nation=SKorea

Phase 3: The Terrain

Included is a folder with everything you need to make your Korean Terrain, except the desert.cat file. Take desert.cat file from you desert terrain file and copy it. Then rename it Korea. Drop that in the Korea folder I have made you. So in your terrain folder you have a folder called desert and one called Korea. I also used Deuces terrain files so you can have Korea look green, so getting them is must. You can get them from:

http://www.biohazcentral.com/

Your Korea folder should look like this.

Again use Deuces green terrain and drop the files into the Korea folder I made in your terrain folder. If not then Korea will be a desert. (If the North Koreans don’t stop F’in around it will be a desert.

Phase 4: Email me

Have any problems email me. I tried to think of everything but you all know how that goes.

Dave.

Hi

I ve found this campaign fine, and that 's true, it's a little hard to install it without any experience in sfp1 mod.

Should say that before, you should download and install the Sabre V2 pack.

Meanwhile, i've installed it with new Europe Othman terrain files ( go to SFP1 Central, french web site ), and look pretty good than deuces original terrain.

But how for got this snowy terrain files ?

Korea in Juanary 56 looks more snowy than a summer terrain.... :lol:

:oops:

Yes, oups, so sorry Deuces, i didn't want tou hurt you with this post.

My English is just a little rough, and often difficult to explain my thing about....

Only colors are changed, and with my graphic card, it looks better for a Korean Campaign, that's all.

It is not mean that it is better than original deuce's terrain, it's only for my own view.

That's engage only me ! with my poor computer !.

I'm sorry you sound hungry with that. My apologies.

Oh no sweat. Didn't bother me at all. It's my hope that someone will continue to develop additional terrains and if they use the Euro as a base, then I would take it as a compliment quite honestly. I misunderstood that this was a completely new terrain.... :( back to work then I guess.

btw zeufman, there are some winter schemes coming along.

Hi Deuces

You made the right answer Deuces...!!!

Yes, it is a great improvement, but author is unknow, we have only a screen..... :cry:

I think that, all, we are looking for a realistic Vietnam terrain, and this looks fine, really.

Don't know who has made this terrain, and i will enjoy to learn more about it...

Anyone get an idea ?

Thank god for free web translation :P

I don't know who's doing that terrain, sorry. It's not from Wolf's Vietnam terrain I know. It looks fairly familiar though.

I'd love to see the whole terrain. Really nice work!!
