Paul Tibbets, Enola Gay pilot, dead today

Just heard on the radio that Paul Tibbets, pilot of the Enola Gay, died today. I think they said he was 92.

I was his great grandson's basic training instructor.

Gen Tibbets was a hell of a man.

And I think it was his grand nephew not grandson. I have to find that flight training book. It's like a year book of sorts. BG Tibbets signed it. Sheesh this was 1995. When I go home on leave I will try to find it and scan it for all to see if anyone is interested. He was a very nice person to talk to.

Another hero gone to the big hangar in the sky. The only famous person i have met was R. Lee Ermey and Capt. Dale Dye. Both awesome men
