Hi to all,

I am new in the game and in the forum,

I have three questions witch I need your help in the modding area

First, if you paint a new pilot, which file you need to change in order to see him in the plane ?

I have paint two pilots (still they need some work), but I can not see them in my plane (external view).

Second is anyone interested to paint an F-16C Block 52 for the Hellenic Air Force (HAF) ?,

I tried but I can not do the painting part (I have done the tail,wing etc badges),

is quite difficult,

see the below photos

tokunagahaf0566vj.jpg1_resize.jpgsoud_01.jpg1g1133311049.JPG

Third when I download plane skins there are some new weapons or weapons with the appropriate colour, how Iinsert them in the game or in which folder do I put them ?

BTW thanks to all people for the models and the skins you have made :clapping: ,

Makes WOE more interesting :yes:

I anyone can help to my above questions me will be great for me......

First:

Which Pilot Model did you use as Base?

The stock one? Or one from a Addon plane?

Third:

Most of the Weapons are included in the Weapons Pack.

So if you have installed it, it should work...

Which Weapons you want to add?

Welcome here, pilot :biggrin:

Well, in general: we have knowledge base. There are tons helpfull info:

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=99

Or you can use search engine :yes:

To your third question:

To add new weapon you need Weapon editor.

We have two weapons pack here in download section. There is weapon editor in bot version.

Weapons pack from jul 2006 is larger:

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=2672

Mirage Factory weapons pack is smaller:

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=5544

You can merge this two packs in one:

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=23529

scroll to post number four

But: If you want work in Weapon editor, you NEED SET COMPATIBILITY TO Win98!!!

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=12210

Adding new weapons:

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=5365

This is Fast Cargos ALARM for SFP1/WOV/WOE (Version 1.1)

Read READ ME in this file and follow steps to add this weapon. Very good tutorial for anybody (Fast Cargo wrote this steps in every weapon made by himself).

Then you can try another new weapon. But as Badfrank sad, there are many weapons in weapons packs included. So, if you have Weapons pack intalled, then you can compare your WEAPONDATA.ini (there are included all weapons from weapons pack) with weapons icluded in aircraft pack add on.

Looking hard, but do not be afraid.

Good luck :biggrin:

Badfrank

I use the one I found in an addon plane,

the file name called F-16_Pilot.

The plane which I want to put them is for the F-16C Block 52

Which Weapons you want to add?

Any kind I found in a skin......

kukulino, thanks for the help mate

I have download both weapons packs but I have not merge them, I just install them.

I will give it ,a try to merge them, because for some reason i can not see the pheonix missiles

Welcome to the forums Kaizer, concerning your second question, here is a HAF F-16C Blk 52 skin done by Creepn_Death

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3780

There is currently not a F-16C Blk 52+ model released, but it could be made in future if time permits.

bibbolicious, thanks I will donwload it

As I said, I tried to make a similar ones but it became more fantastic than real may be becasue I tried using similar templates from the downloading sector,

for example

343 HAF Squadron (like in the above photos)

img00001vb3.th.png

img00002gf0.th.png

341 HAF Squadron

img00003vz4.th.png

img00004qw0.th.png

(I know there are not good, not at all real)

Btw Thanks all for the welcoming

this is my first flight sim

I find it very nice, thats why I decide to try modding it

(I prefer the navy than the airforce, I do not know many thinks about Air Fighters, but I can tell u everything about the type 209 (1100-1200) & 214 submarines :biggrin: )

Hi again

My previous questions (2 and 3) were answered (thanks again), but still I have trouble with the first one

which is editng a pilot.....

well I found out that if you want to enter a new enter pilot in your aircraft, very simple go to objects/aircraft

select the fighter type you want

then open the fighter-data.ini file, go to crew and change the name in the line PilotModelName=xxxx (where x you place the name of the pilot.bmp, which you can find in your aircraft folder)

If you want to change the skin of an existing pilot, very simple you paint it and replace it with the old one.

My question is how you can enter an new one ????

I tried the below

For example my skin is called F-16_Pilot225

I paint the .bmp file

I fix a new .ini file like this

[LOD001]

Filename=F-16_Pilot225.LOD

Distance=200

[LOD002]

Filename=F-16_Pilot225-001.LOD

Distance=600

[LOD003]

Filename=F-16_Pilot225-002.LOD

Distance=1000

and I name the same .ini file (F-16_Pilot225)

Then I copy them and rename the old 3 .LOD Files and 1. OUT file with my new name....

and I copy paste all these in my aircraft folder

Finally I change the fighter-data.ini the PilotModelName=F-16_Pilot225

But this is not working!! I still see the old one ingame

Is something to do with the .LOD files ? If yes how to edit them, I tried it with the Cygnus Hex Editor but I can not understan how is working :blink:

If my (above)method is correct what else do I have to change in order to enter a new pilot ?

(sorry for my english)

btw this is one of the skins I want to enter

Nice pilot skin!!!

(this would be a lot easier if I could find my hex editor screen shot I made for the 'how to repaint a pilot' tutorial I never finished...)

Most pilot figures have 4 files:

Pilot**.bmp

Pilot**.ini

Pilot**.lod

Pilot**_lod002.lod

Personally, I've never seen the Falcon pilot figure...it' almost like it's built into the aircraft lod, but I could be wrong.

Back to the subject at hand....

To get it to work, you need to use your hex editor, and search for "bmp". Now, the real trick, is in making sure YOUR pilot skin has the same amount of digits (the name length CANNOT exceed the original. That is...

say the lod calls for Pilot07.bmp....that's 10 digits in length, including the file type suffix. So you only have 7 real places to work with.

So, you just rename the pilot bmp to match, but keeping it identifiable. In your case, I'd use Pilt225.bmp. Back into the hex editor, you do a search again for the 'bmp'. Normally, each lod has 3 instances for it. You just re-type the new bmp name OVER ONLY THE FIRST SECTION OF BMP NAME, leaving the .bmp part alone.

Now, since doing this would delete the original F-16 pilot, you do a "save as..." for each lod, and then you can rename it. NOW, you can use the full name, Pilot225. You do this for each pilot lod.

Then you simply edit the ini to reflect the new lod names. Then, save the ini as Pilt225.ini . Then take all 4 (or in this case there seems to be 3 lods -- don't forget to edit them all), and toss the whole mess into the /objects/aircraft folder, as you normally do.

You don't need to worry about the OUT file, that's generated when the lods are create in MAX, and has no bearing on this (unless you want to plot out decal positions for shoulder patches???)

Then edit you're Falcon's data it to accept the new pilot:

PilotModelName=Pilt225

Now, there IS a problem with your skin:

It's based off Diego's Sage Green, and he has pulled ALL his late model pilot skins, save a VERY few, from general usage. So, speaking as a CA Moderator, I'd reccomend NOT releasing this for the general public, but keep it for your own use.

This will avoid a nasty scene for all parties involved.

This goes for everyone -- you can do what you want in YOUR own games, but unpermissioned mods, and mods of items removed by their authors CANNOT be uploaded or shared on this or any other site.

Please respect the author's wishes.

}{answer to moderator ON }{

As correctly you said, the original skin is not mine!

I just edit/repaint it for personal use

and I just decide to show it (nothing more nothing less in that)

If someone likes the design he can spend 20 min of his free time to make it through photoshop (it's easy)

Is unrespectful for the people who work/spend time, to release something which is not yours

Good for you Kaizer!!

As you requested, I edited you post to remove the picture link.

If more people were as respectful as you towards others work, we'd have a lot less problems

I thank you!!! :good:
