Not sure what you are getting at here - you select the relevant bombs/rockets/missiles before you start the game that will actually destroy the target.

Then depending on what you are carrying you can select a bomb and drop it on the target using dive bombing techniques - or you can strafe it using unguided rockets or cannon.

You can select a ground target with the 'E' key by default - once done you can then instruct your main wingman to attack it - which comes in useful if you have missed it.

Im not sure if that Mig-21 varient can actually use any guided ground weapons at all tbh??

Free-fall bombs and rocket pods only. EOGBs and LGBs not until the reeeealy late model, 21st Century versions.

Also, DO have a look at the game manual, it should give a full listing of all the keystrokes needed to visually lock a ground target, as the AG radar don't/won't/can't.

Excerpt below is copied directly from the "WOE Manual.pdf", located, strangely enough, in a folder called "Manual"

Visual Targeting Commands

T Designate the next enemy or unidentified aircraft as your visual target.

This places square brackets on the Heads-Up Display (HUD). If the target

moves out of view, the brackets turn into a cone that points in the

direction of the target. Additional target information may also appear in

the lower right corner of your viewscreen, depending on your HUD

settings.

Shift+T Select previous enemy or unidentified aircraft as your visual target.

Ctrl+T Select closest enemy or unidentified aircraft as your visual target.

Y Select next friendly or neutral aircraft as your visual target.

Shift+Y Select previous friendly or neutral aircraft as your visual target.

Ctrl+Y Select closest friendly or neutral aircraft as your visual target.

E Select next enemy ground object as your visual target.

Shift+E Select previous enemy ground object as your visual target.

Ctrl+E Select closest enemy ground object as your visual target.

Numpad * (Asterisk) Target the object closest to the center of view.

R Target the last object mentioned in the radio call - an enemy aircraft

(bandit), incoming missile, friendly bomber, airport, etc. For radio calls that

do not involve targetable objects, the caller of the object, if

appropriate, may be targeted. Some objects might not be visible or

targetable.

Shift+R Target the caller of the last radio call, if appropriate.

Ctrl+R Select the current radar target as your visual target. You must have the

target selected on your radar, but you don’t need a full lock to select this

as a visual target.

Remember, the KB won't help the very basic stuff...that's why the manufacturer included "The Manual" :haha:

Real men don't ask for directions or read the instructions. This is how I deal with ground targets:

Mig17s and 21s are best suited for public parks and playgrounds. Not ground attack.

Especialy here on my favorite playground.

Point aircraft nose at target, mentally judge aircraft speed, dive angle, slipping, crosswinds and arc of trajectory of weapon, pull trigger... Observe impact. Move rudder and stick to adjust fire, pull trigger. Easy.

It's a sticky in the Mission/Campaigns Thread. Lancancter/Tallboy vs Nazi Battleship

I'd do it myself, but I can't level bomb for poop (and don't want to add the Norden fix, as it messes up some of my other views). I"m more of a dive bomber kinda guy....I want to stuff that 1000 pounder right down the stack!!

Lancaster ugly..OOOOO..I can't agree with that. It's one of the classic aircraft of WWII. What's ugly about it. :tomato:

You bet! Does that mean 2 uglies make a handsome? If it flys off the Midway, Coral Sea, or for the US Marine Corps, bombs or anything can be strapped on to it. CL
