Can anyone tell me or point me to a tutorial about plane creation? I want to start a project and need to know what program has to be used, how many pols, how to add to the game...

The 3DS MAX and the MAX EXPORTER plug in is used for creation of aircraft. In this link you have a video tutorial in 12 parts for download:

also, you can download the plug in for export 3DS format to .LOD here or in the Third Wire web page.

Try Now3D, i dont know d link but its 100% free and has similar interface as 3DS MAX. If u want to create an VRML based aircraft i suggest u to use RenderSoft VRML Editor.
