How to make sure that LCOS and CCIP do actually work? I have an F-16C modified with avionics 70 etcetc; everything works perfectly, but I have the feeling that bullets do not actually go where LCOS is pointing...

Any ideas?

there are several entries which must have the same value :

( all OFFSET entries should be 0 in the Y axis or have the same value ... IIRC .... I forgot something about that stuff ...)

 

AVIONICS.ini

 

[HUD]

GunBoresightAngle=1.00 <---- here

RocketBoresightAngle=0.50 < --- you can adjust this value to "boresight" one type of rockets

* this is not a standard entry, there is a "stock value" (2.0 IIRC) in the AIRCRAFTOBJECTDATA.ini which is normally sufficent . THis value is used to tell the AI the maximum angle at which guns can be used ( or something like that ). Some planes with a high aimangle need a higher value than the stock number - or they never fire their guns = kinda "out of envelope"

Thanks for all the info; are those standard for every aircraft equipped with LCOS and HUd? Or specific to the f-16C?

"1.0" is just an example here, for a sight/aim angle raised by 1 degree

TK's stock ini's use 0.0 for the F-15A and -2.0 for the A-10

thats because a negative angle ( A-10) makes you "look down", the result is that the CCIP pipper stays more on the area of the HUD

bad side of that is that it sucks for A2A, the LCOS doesnt have much space with high lead angles and gets off the HUD fast

Thats why the F-15A has an 0.0 angle, which is kinda a "in-between" solution.

My latest avionics files for MF F-16A ( not released yet) and the F-14A ( still the old model) have angles up to 3.0

Obiviously I prefered to have a good LCOS instead of a "nice Looking" CCIP ...

It's considered bad manners to ask the same question repeatedly, and especially so in other people's threads. You'll find that most of our members are quite helpful, and would have probably been more receptive to your queries, if you had simply started your own thread and asked your question(s) there.

 

The Mirage Factory has an F-18 that sports an upgraded avionics suite featuring a HUD modified to SP4 standards, in their Megapack.

There hs to be an advanced HUD for the F-18 i had it on SFp1

everywhere every remedy i tried didn't work!

 

Its like it totally disappeared!

i tried a pack from website Checksix

but it didn't do anything.

and it crashed my WOE.

 

i wish it was on the Cockpit upgrades in the Download area of Combatace.

there is one but its an old one making the cockpit look like the old F-14A.

 

this Hud is very hard to find.

 

 

 

From Mirage factory i think it was. damn nice if someone had a link..

My Husband loves the Mig-29 and Su-27

so i pick the nemesis of his favorites.

we have 2 computers and so we fly against each other.

i choose the F/A-18a but he has the Advantage when he locks on

with an IR missile he can track me.

the f-18 can't. i can kill him with the F-14 because of its detailed hud.

Maybe I can upload it withthe permission ot the MF. It`s a damn good pit and i use it in some planes!

Alrighty folks, you are working WAY too hard here.

 

First, install the checksix megapack somewhere other than your WOE directory.

 

Then go into where you installed it, find the following directory: F-18BA

 

Put that aircraft in your Objects/Aircraft directory.

 

Now, go into your old F-18 directory...you see the subdirectorys of skins? (most named for the squadrons they belong to). Copy those directories to your F-18 Blue Angel directory.

 

Go into the F-18 Blue Angel directory (F-18BA)...you see the subdirectories with the Blue Angel skins (BA, B1, B2, B3, etc)? Delete them...all of them.

 

Open up the F-18BA.ini file and first look for the entry that says this:

 

[AircraftData]

AircraftFullName=F-18 Blue Angel

etc...

 

Change it to:

AircraftFullName=F/A-18A Hornet

 

Then, find these entries:

Directory=BA

Name=BlueAngels N°1

Nation=USN

Reflection=0.100000

Squadron=Blue Angels

Delete the entries...yep, go ahead and delete all of them.

 

Save the file as FA-18A.ini.

 

Delete the following files from the F-18BA directory:

 

F18_fuse.bmp

F18_leftwing.bmp

F18_nose.bmp

F18_rightwing.bmp

F18_tails.bmp

patch.bmp

 

Rename the F-18BA directory as FA-18A.

 

Done.

 

It works...I just did every single step myself to verify it works.

Hey C5.

Is this the Hornet that was on preview at C6 site ?

What are the updates for sp5 in the cockpit ?

And the important question is of course when is it due to be released ?

i was wondering is there a better Hud for the F-16C Blk 30 and F-16C Blk50/52

the Hud looks low tech and old and there are Mirage Factory huds that look good i was

wondering did anyone update the Huds those jets?
