Campaign Missions vs Loadout

Recommended Posts

I had a problem with the aircraft loadouts, searched the forum on it, but could not find an answer. So I set out to do some tests and here are the results.

In the campaign files you can stipulate which missions an aircraft can fly and the likelihood of the mission appearing. But what's the use of setting up the mission chances if there are no default loadouts? I did not want to manually load up each aircraft so I checked which Campaign missiontype matches with which Loadout.

Missiontype------>Loadout

[sWEEP]---------->[AirToAir]

[CAP]------------>[AirToAir]

[iNTERCEPT]------->[AirToAir]

[ESCORT]--------->[AirToAirLongRange]

---------->

[CAS]------------>[Attack]

[sEAD]----------->[sEAD]

[ARMED_RECON]--->[Attack]

[ANTI-SHIP]------->[Anti-Ship]

[RECON]---------->[Recon]

So if you now make sure that for each possible mission campaign a matching entry exists in the loadout file, you no longer have to manually load each aircraft of your flight.

Just as an F.Y.I., [sWEEP] is also [AirToAirLongRange]

That's also pretty well locked in by the aircraft's data ini:

This from our ever-usefull A-4E

[MissionData]

NationName=USN

ServiceStartYear=1963

ServiceEndYear=1974

AircraftRole=ATTACK

AircraftCapability=DAY_ONLY

Availability=COMMON

Exported=TRUE

ExportStartYear=1964

ExportAvailability=RARE

PrimaryRoles=CAS,STRIKE,SEAD,ANTI_SHIP <-- here

SecondaryRoles=ARMED_RECON,RECON,FAC <-- and also here

NormalMissionRadius=671

MaxMissionRadius=1137

Ceiling=15697.2

MinBaseSize=SMALL

CarrierBased=TRUE

One only needs to make sure of having the correct loadout ini
