I am very sure there is at least 1 thread on it.

Gotta watch the turn fights in the Bekaa Valley in WoI as well. I've had quite a few wingies biff it there...

It really depends which installation you are talking about. As far as SFP1/WoV/WoE, you have to manually adjust the settings in the AircraftObjects.ini. As for WoI because the AI is much stronger, you may not need to do the adjustment.

If you want to know the difference between each file, I would like to suggest you to download some file compare tools which is very helpful.

Now, let's go back to your question. This is extracted from AircraftObjects.ini

[DogfightAce]
SafeAltitude=100 <----------------------------------------------Controls the minimum ceiling of AI aircrafts
LookoutAngle=180
DefensiveAngle=120
ChanceDefensiveTurn=75
ChanceBreakTurn=100
ChanceHardTurn=100
ChanceTurnDirection=100
ChanceContinue=25
ChanceCheckNewTarget=50
ChanceUseVertical=100
FightWithoutAmmo=1
CannonFireAngle=1.0
RQIRMFireAngle=10.0
ASIRMFireAngle=20.0
RHMFireAngle=25.0
MaxPitchInput=1.0
MissileDetectChance=100
MaxCannonRange=2000
OptimalCannonRange=500
MinCannonRange=100
MaxRollForGunAttack=180
CannonBurstLengthShort=0.25
CannonBurstLengthLong=0.5
MaxRudderForGunAttack=1.0
MaxRudderForManeuver=1.0

SafeAltitude is used to control the ceiling of an AI aircraft.

The SafeAltitude seems to be exactly what it says.

If you set too low, the chance that AI will hit the ground increases.

Ai don't have perfect control of a/c.

Similar to yourself flying very low, increased chance you will misjudge and hit ground.

100 cant be the correct value as they wont get below 500ft AGL. In mountainous terrain, then stay above 1500-ish.

But with the new formations mod, they stack down about 200ft on the right, which is pretty nice.

Not so...Ive got F-15I RAAms terrain following on ingress right down to 70 feet at an average speed of 500kts over Israel 2.This is in WOE

First:

SafeAltitude=

is in metrical units.

Second:

There is a section for each AI skill level, values might differ a bit for each.

However tweaking them quite low makes Ai follow you down low.

If they surive without hitting ground is another question.

Survival Im guessing is dependent on skill

I just know that it sure would be great to have my wingie and the rest of the flight follow my ingress route at the same altitude, because the sams are just "tearing them a new one" :blink:

Then

Egyptian F-4s on a CAS mission(they never made it)

C-7s being hustled by Egyptian F-16s(I was well on my way to Paphos;yeah been relocated 2000 miles away from the action so I was looking at 1hour Mach 2 missions with recalcitrant wingmen)
