Hello everybody.

Its me the resident fighter pilot girl with a question

me and my husband have been picking our brains on this.

See we have the canards for the SU-33(sim)

we have a standard paint job for it.

but when it comes down to wanting another color we have to go through

the same thing over and over again.

is there a way to have like a SU-37 with another skin?

me and my husband want to have different varients.

but its not possible from the look of it.

Do you want a separate aircraft altogether or just the skin? If you want the first, I think there is a thread somewhere dealing with that. Ill look for it and get back to you. If its the latter, I dont know what to say as im no good with skinning (i try but the pacience is lacking, like for all of my various projects collecting virtual dust :haha: )

I think it is the way the canard .lods are designed. It is written clearly in the readme that you would face problems with mismatched colours. However, you can edit the .bmp that the .lod reads through a hex editor. For example, if the canard .lod is set to read 'LeftWing.bmp' and 'RightWing.bmp', and you want them to read another set of .bmps (example, a pair of custom .bmps called 'LeftWng2.bmp' and 'RightWng2.bmp'), change them to something like 'LeftWng2.bmp' and 'RightWng2.bmp' (notice the amount of characters for the .bmp filenames are the same) WITHIN the hex editor, and save the .lod under another name (the same rules about the number of characters in the filename applies).

It's a complicated process (at least for the first-timer), but it can be done.

see what i want to do is say i have the SU-33(sim) one skin color

i want to make the Su-37 Terminator a different color so the canard skin

will be another color. to match the one i want.

my Husband Shiro loves to Fly the SU-33 with gray skin with Ustio symbols on it.

Me i want to make a SU-37 with Kei Nagase's Miki skin.

with seperate canards to match.

is it possible to do so?

i know the Su-37 isn't made yet but i just want a fighter of my own ^_^

me an most of my friends are big anime fans and Ace combat fans.

and were doing our own home work. learning how to do things with WOE and WOI.

and the canards is giving us the most problem at the moment.

It sounds complicated at first, but after several times it would be something normal. Question is, would you want only one skin for the whole Su-37 or what? Because if you decided to have few skins then it is back to square one.

Look at this thread for some info: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...p;hl=hex+editor
