Proof of concept for terrain builders - TE will happily place super-high-res individual tiles alongside low-res standard tiles, and the WOx engine will fly them. Of course, you have to "create" the tiles, and hand place them in TE. But, you get the idea.

 

Now, I just have to create an airfield.INI file that will work
