TH2Go Problem

Recommended Posts

OK I need help please

I've just received OFF 3 tonight and installed it fresh (no earlier versions were installed), all seemed to have gone well with the install.

However, I use a TH2Go setup and no matter what I do or change, I get the same result.

After the movie, the main selection screen is stretched over the three monitors, but the bottom half of the selection options are cut off.

I select Quick Mission and I get what should be a three screen view spread over the 2nd and 3rd screens only and within that many overlapping selection and description fields.

I've tried running the config utility and setting it 3840x1024 and also to 1280x1024 to see if I could just get a single screen to work, but what ever I set and save, the screen displays as described above.

I've updated the Matrox Surround Game Utility (SGU) and find that doesn't offer any OFF games settings and also greys out the CFS3 (i.e. not found, browsing doesn't help either), so I can't select anything extra there.

I've installed the latest OFF patch and fairly recent video drivers (a week or two old), my TH2Go works flawlessly with other software including FS9 and FSX

Can anyone enlighten me how to get this working, as it stands I cannot use OFF 3 as I can't even select the go fly button or whatever it might be called as it's way off screen?

Thanks for any and all help

Allan

Try setting your DPI settings to either 96 or 120.

Well thanks for that, I at least got a full width screen now on the quick flight page, all menus are still vertically challenged with the lower half of the various options being truncated.

Setting to 120 achieved this, setting back to 96 retain it, so at that's some progress, however this partial victory didn't last long as now it appears OFF cannot find my CD drive and crashes after Contact is announced.

Yes I have v1.25 installed

Outside of OFF3 I can see the CD contents using Explorer, so it isn't a physical thing.

Jetstream,

Hi

I believe one or two others use a triple screen setup, but we haven't tested it so.

Did you set the graphics config too?

Best send a mail to support address with your order number and we'll try to help more.

I just go my DVD, and with TH2Go have the same problem with all of the menu text being too large for the boxes they're in so you can't see the lower half of each word. On some of the screens it's so bad they're fairly well unusable. :dntknw:

I had the same problem with it, finally contacted Matrox in Canada, they looked from over there into my computer for 2 and a half hours (!), which was no fun, for I am not a software specialist, which they expected me to be, and after that my PC was a complete mess. Finally their conclusion was that it was a product failure. Had to re-install almost all my flightsim stuff and had to send the unit to Ireland for a new one. That new one wasn't in stock, so I waited 5 weeks till it finally arrived in Ireland and had to wait another 3 weeks before it reached me. The new one did work, but in MY opinion only 100% in FSX (which I don't play very much) under VISTA (which I don't like and don't use) and only 60% in FS9 and other flightsims, for I was disappointed by the views it gave in older generation flightsims and with Windows XP. Finally I got so sick of it that I deceided to sell it. Hope you get it working. Regards, hertzie.

I have Triple Head to Go digital and three wide screens and Love it.

While flying I have three screens of perfect resolution

Once I am in game, after pushing the go to field button it is perfect. The B&W movies also work OK on only run on the center screen at the correct resolution but all the other screens Workshop, Quick Mission, Campaign and Briefing screens are all streched but mostly readable. I did have to set it up in a single screen to figure out what all my options were and where all the button where so I would be able to find it in the streched version.

I tried to figure out a way to get the the streched screens to to be correct but gave up since I can read everything and did not want to spend too much time fighting it.

I also run Vista and have tracker IR 4 pro

I agree, once you're in the simulation it's fantastic (though it can still bring even my 1 GB GTX285 to it's knees on all 5's and 8xQ AA). Combined with Track IR it's simply brilliant.

I haven't been able to find any xml files that have the UI Screen layout data, so my guess is that it's all hard coded into the OFF Manager exe.

I'd be willing to work with the interface programmer to develop a patch that can deal with 3840 x 1024 if the OFF team is interested.

As WM explains the problem is the ratio of triple screens is way out of normal PC proportions - the manager supports wide screen 16:10 or normal 4:3. So best to run it on 1 monitor and fly in 3?

Hi Guys,

I will look at a fix for 1.3 but no promises on time.....it may only appear in a later patch.

I definately agree, that would be outstanding.

Being able to run the OFF Manager at a different resolution than the flight simulation is definately one way to fix this.

CFS3 runs at whatever res you set it up for.

OFF manager runs at desktop.

There is no connection between the Manager and the sim run time resolutions

Okay, it's a bit klunky, but yes you can change your desktop to 1280 x 1024 and see the OFF Manager as intended. When you go to fly it jumps up to 3840 x 1024. As you exit it resets to 1280 x 1024. Inconvient to reset the desktop back and forth all the time just to play, but it works.

It would be nice if there was a profile function like there is for the 3D settings that would change the desktop res on the fly when the program starts, and set it back when you exit.

I took a stab at writing a profile for the Matrox SGU to switch the resolution automatically, but it does not change the desktop resolution, and the OFF Manager overrides the Matrox commands. When I tried to go into 3D flight mode the Matrox SGU resolution commands then came into conflict with the base game's config xml, and kicked me back to the OFF Manager. Oh well, it was worth a try...

I just changed my Desktop to 1280 x 1024 and it works great. I can live with shifting my Desktop resolution in the short run. All the start up screens are correct and once I hit the Go to Field button it shifts to 3840 X 1024.

My desktop now is just the middle screen but most of the time thats all I need for most programs.

Having three screens with the Triple head to go is just Amazing!!! I was able to get the displays on a closeout deal but having three screens with OFF 3 makes this as close to being in the Cockpit of a WWI plane as possible. If you are thinking about going for three displays you wont regret the cost.

A fix has been implemented in V1.3 to auto scale the Manager when the users desktop res ratio is > 16:9.

Thanks to Major Magee for testing.

First of all, I'm finally back in the virtual skies and managed to find this forum (my first post).

The info in this thread is great news! :clapping: After two months of waiting for various parts to come in to assemble my new rig I finally got up and running yesterday (OFF P3 was the first thing to arrive!). OFF P3 is better than hoped for except that I also have the OFF Manager screen resolution problem with TH2Go.

Found this thread today so will just make do until v1.3 is ready for download.

I will second the endorsement for triple screen with TrackIR. It's really a great experience.
