Nato Code-names

Is it me or does NATO always names the "Red" planes starting with F?Like Fishbed,Flanker,Fulcrum,Farmer and Fresco?Im just curious.

NATO code names are:

F for Fighters (MiG-29 Fulcrum)

B for Bombers (Tu-95 Bear)

C for Cargo (An-72 Coaler)

H for Helo's (ex Mi-17 Hip)

etc.

Don't forget:

M for "miscellaneous" aircraft

A for AAMs

G for SAMs

K for ASMs

S for surface-surface missiles

NATO codenames describes the specification of Russian planes, for example:

 

The fighters have names with "F": Flogger, Fulcrum, Fishbed, Forger, Flanker...

The bomber names starts with "B": Bear, Badger, Bison, Beagle, Blinder...

The cargo planes starts with "C": Condor, Cub, Coke...

Helicopteres with "H": Hind, Havoc, Hokum, Helix, Hormone, Hip...

"M" could be for miscellaneous: like Il-76 Mainstay...
