NATO Fighters III Released

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all of your patience as this project stretched for two and a half years!

http://www.column5.us/campaigns.shtml

Let me know of any problems!

Here is the readme:

NATO Fighters III

-----------------

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

You MUST follow these steps to properly install NATO Fighers III.

I suggest creating a clean WOE install for NF3. While it is possible for you to apply the Sep. 2008 patch to your NF2 install and then apply NF3, I can't guarantee the best results. Feel free to try though!

NATO Fighters III (NF3) requires that you already have NATO Fighters and NATO Fighters II installed. Refer to the readmes that came with NF1 and NF2 for more information.

If this is a new setup, install software in the following order:

1. Wings Over Europe

2. October 2008 Patch

3. NF1

4. NF2

5. NF3

If this is an existing NF install, it is strongly recommended that you finish any campaigns you are currently playing BEFORE installing NF3. It is possible that existing campaigns could become corrupted if you install NF3 while you are still playing them. BACKUP your existing NF installation before continuing--now that you have been warned, any lost files or pilot data are completely your fault! Install the October 2008 patch for WOE, then install NF3.

Run the executable included in the archive you downloaded.

***When prompted, ensure that the installation path is pointing towards your NF installation. When the path is correct, continue the installtion.***

That's it! Everything is installed automatically and no modding is required.

It says:

"You don't have enough free space to install this program..."

Of course I don't have, cause my C: (default for NF3 setup) is a SD cart port. My HD is far other letter

I've tried to run it with a 4GB SD card from my D80 placed in C:\ , without luck so far, same error msg

Hi,

Congratulations for this hard work! :good:

But... I have some issues with NF3:

- no more F16s planes

- no more Jaguar

- F104G are missing there texture..they are white

I have installed NF3 twice, each time on a brand new install of WOE.

Am I the only one? :sorry:

The only thing which is old is the Oct08 update which I have downloaded since last Oct, NF1, 2 and 3 were dowloaded today.

Cheers

Thanks! There will be one more NF release for WOE Classic...NF4 will add a 1986 campaign with appropriate aircraft. Already working on it! :ok:

After Gorbachev fails to secure the cancellation of SDI at Reykjavik, the hardline communist faction stages a coup and launces a pre-emptive strike on NATO.

Once WOE2 is released I will port the series over and continue working on it for the new platform.

All right, time for issues:

A few squadrons don't have any planes, such as in 62 444 RCAF, the Belgian AF, Luftwaffe... In 68, RAF 11sq, BAF 1sq.

Other might be missing. Am I alone? I'll re-download the whole stuff just in case.

More to follow.

When you say no planes, what exactly are you seeing? Can you select them for a campaign, or are they not on the menu?

EDIT: I just scanned through the map for the 62 and 68 campaigns and all units were at full strength. Didn't see any with 0 aircraft. Definately need some more info.

Sorry, I was quite unclear.

What happen is: when I select such a squadron, there is no plane name in "starting aircraft" in the menu. When I go on and start regardless the campaign, I'm assigned with a random plane, such as MiG-17 or F-15.

Guess my previous download were somehow sort of corrupted, I'll soon see if my second attemp is more successful.
