This is way to easy

Recommended Posts

Easy to get 17 hrs that is. After 9 flights and 10 hrs NO ENEMY. My little Arco DH2 and I await the hun----where are they?

Does this lack of Enemy Aircraft happen often ---- OR do I need to restart? I have never seen this before, and playing at 90. :dntknw:

I've had a couple of careers with no enemy aircraft for many missions (no encounters before I quit). I believe it is a wierd, hard to reproduce bug. Try starting a new career. Just to be sure, I also did a clean install before I updated to 1.3 just to clean the crank-case, as it were.

Hope that helps!

Is this only on an early campaign? THe early campaigns may have no jastas opposite the lines that are flying due to lack of aircraft... Before that was fixed they would automatically fly the next available a/c. I remember fighting Albatros's in early 1916 with a bristol scout.

It can happen, depends on lots of things, the scope of OFF is to produce a dynamic realistic campaign but also make an interesting flight sim. However the very fact it's dynamic and can produce all sorts of missions - it is possible you may not meet an aircraft for days or weeks or fly right by them as you did not notice.

In 1915 - 1916 it was relatively quiet. Most people would hardly engage an enemy early on. Few squads, few flights, few attacking craft.

Also possibly you are in a quiet region during a quiet period. As off is scalable for ground offensive build ups or know periods of extra activity in the air (as per our features page) so if no major attack in your sector it will be quieter.

Also depending on your mission frequency if you are on 3 missions a day 10 hrs is only a few days. Try another squad, date/time if you want more action. Or maybe you have been lucky enough to pass flights by, or maybe mostly they have not gone your way. If you have target awareness dial showing, or labels on you may see more, at the expense of immersion. Otherwise as in real life you will fly past many craft you never realise are there.

Also even though we have lots in there, we still do not have every single aircraft/squad ever active, so some areas may need an aircraft that does not exist in the game yet that could add to the quietness in some areas. We have made sensible substitutions in many places to help. It's difficult job to balance this - be historically accurate and also make it play well.

If you want definite action join somewhere close to Flanders in 1917/1918 ;)

"Also depending on your mission frequency if you are on 3 missions a day 10 hrs is only a few days."

Hi Pol,

Is there a way of changing this? I'm not sat in front of OFF at the moment, but it would be nice to have periods when one is ony flying once a day, or every few days, depending on local activity (ie, if you're 'training' in the UK, or in a quiet sector in early 1916 for example).

I will admit to giving Captain Coppitt the odd week off every now and then by multiple time advances. Good for morale and all that.

Switch the 'Campaign Activity' on the fly. :good:
