Absentee Weapons/Tanks. WOV+Weapon Pck. 2.52

Recommended Posts

Now, I know it's not the add-on's fault, and I'm guessing it's something to do with the interaction between my Weapons Pack (Community Pack 2.52), and my WOV being patched to Oct. 08. At any rate, I have installed weapons pack 2.52, to an 08 patched copy of WOV, and now I get nothing but my Infrared AIMs showing up. Everything else is unaccounted for. Should I use my Weapon Editor to run through every weapon, or do I perhaps have my .ini, or .dat in the wrong folders? I have to say, I am uber stumped on this one. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

Just re run the weapondata.ini through the weapon editor and hit save and all will be well.

and if that fails, re run the installation of the weapons pack, make sure everything is where it should be and go from there. But what dave said should fix it no problem

Alright, first let me say THANK YOU to the both of you! Without site like these, I would not be able to do jack s*** with my machine!

I tried the weapon editor, same issue arose. I only have a small fraction of weapons available. I have my .ini in my objects folder, and my .dat in my weapons folder. Is it possible that this is wrong? Do I need to alter my aircraft in any way?

what kind of planes are you talking about? if they are soviet planes, make sure in the .ini data of the specific plane on the weapon station has the attachment type as:

AttachmentType=WP, SOVIET

save it and you'll see the rest of the weapons, otherwise let us know, we are here to help you...

I've tried it with a few different models. I've tried it with Both the F and E model Super Hornets, the F-16c, the MiG-29, and the new Mirage IVa recently uploaded. With the Hornets I get my two AIM9 variants (the L, and P, I believe), and nothing else. With the 29 I get a centerline tank, a couple of bomb options, and my Atolls, Aphids, and that's it. Same basic story all around. I wonder if my Weapons Editer could be the root of the problem? Or maybe I need to run through every weapon in the editor, and do the little click dance on all of them? (God, that would take forever.) Once again, thanks for your time and knowledge!

OK, let's take a look onto your issue, what i will explain you can do it on the TMF MIG-29, i'll be using the MIG-21: go to your main game directory, let's use by instance Wings Over Vietnam, and look for this path: Wings Over Vietnam\Objects\Aircraft\MiG-21MF, inside the folder look for MIG-21MF_DATA.ini, thi file will be open with notepad, then scroll down to Weapon stations and you'll find something like this:

// Weapon Stations ---------------------------------------------------------

[LeftOuterWingStation]

SystemType=WEAPON_STATION

StationID=1

StationGroupID=1

StationType=EXTERNAL

AttachmentPosition=-2.68,-2.17,-0.42

AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0

LoadLimit=500.0

LengthLimit=3.5

AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,RCKT,RP,IRM,FT

AttachmentType=WP<--------------------------------------here you need to add SOVIET, preceeded by a coma, so you'll have WP,SOVIET

ModelNodeName=WingPylon_Outer_L

PylonMass=60

PylonDragArea=0.02

LaunchRailNodeName=MissileRail_Outer_L

LaunchRailHeight=0.10

LaunchRailMass=25

FuelTankName=Tank490_MiG21

since there are more stations, be patient and add the same to all of them, then close it and try again, you'll see more weapons appearing.

if this is not working please let us know.

regards.

Hey, guys. Looks like I'm still wrestling with this one. I tried the above, but with a MiG-23 (though I don't suppose it matters), and I'm still stuck with a very minimal amount of options. I think I was able to loadout three bomb choices, I had two air to air options, and a centerline fuel tank. I have no earthly idea what could be going on here.

I don't suppose you've perused the Knowledge Base????

In particular, the sub-forums in this main one....

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=189

lots of vital information there, and some even pretty basic.

all your questions are answered in there. Really

Also, the community pak is missing pretty much ALL the individual ini (NOT weaponsdata), but the weapon specific inis that go into EACH and EVERY weapons sub-folders. These may be necessary for the items to show 'in game'. Mind you, some of the older LODs, for some inexplicable reason ONLY show when placed directly in the MAIN /Weapons folder.

Put both the weaponsdata.ini and the .dat in the weapons folder. Just to be safe run it one more time through the editor. Also look at the links Wrench put for you and see if that helps as well.
