I've started to fly the Viper a lot more lately and I'm having a great time with it. The MF Vipers are killers. One thing I'm trying to get used to is the hud, since most of the instrumentation in a glass cockpit is replaced by MFDs, a lot of that info mach number, radar altitude etc is on the hud. I've been able to figure out a few through trial and error, but I was wondering if someone could point me to a diagram of the F-16's HUD symbology.

Which TMF Vipers are you flying ?

The TMF Vipers included with DS and NF4 mods have completly overhauled HUDs and avionics ...

quick guide...

the default stuff should be clear.. guncross, left airspeed scale ( with current G readout on top), right altitude scale

the left datablock shows, top to bottom :

- master arm status

- aircraft Mach

- max G readout

- weapon mode: LCOS,MSLS, STRF, CCIP etc

the right datablock, top to bottom :

- target range in NM ( xxx if no radar lock)

- target closure speed in knots (xxxx if no radar lock )

- range to waypoint and waypoint # (014006 = 14 nm to wp 6)

- radar altitude in feet

thats what you see in the A2A mode screenie ...

in MSLS ( missiles, short range) mode, you get a seeker FOV circle...

in NAV mode, the 2nd line of the right datablock shows 00: 00 , thats a fixed readout.. the real jet has time to go to next waypoint displayed.

Thanks, this will really help out.

I was referring to the Block 1 and Block 10 MF F-16s. Why didn't MF make an F-16C?
