As a tester, I gotta tell you that this is a monstrous, and very well done upgrade!

If you liked the original ODS, you're going to love this, as I've seen commercial patches that were much less comprehensive.

One heckuva job, gentlemen...

Hello!

How does it come that with 4 hits of 2000lbs-bombs (or 10 by 750lbs-bombs), a runway is not destroyed? During a strike mission, I had to use a nuke (Mk-43 70kT) to accomplish the mission, destroying my flight, myself and three F-15 in the way ...

Another question: I missed the fuel tanks near the ABs. I think that there are bmp's or LOD's missing, where must these files be located?

OK, problem solved by changing the pointer for the CAT file in DS.INI in the terrain folder to the SFP1-stock desert.CAT . Meanwhile, are there any known issues caused by this change? Anyway, I really enjoy this mod. :good:

Guys,

This is a superb mod!

If you may be considering an additional patch, can you consider adding the following to REALLY ramp up the realism:

1. Add AAA (flak) to the areas where there were strategic targets, cities, and airfields. While we (coalition forces) owned the electronic spectrum through active jamming and a phenominal pre-emptive SEAD plan followed by daily SEAD, the Iraqi's still threw up one helluva lot of unguided AAA. Early on when we were still going low, it was like flying through a wall of fire.

2. Add Carriers. We had 6 of them over there.

3. Add more airfield revetted hangar missions. We took out a bunch!

4. Add a few patrol boats to the Northern Gulf anti-surface mission. We sunk a lot more of those than tankers or cargo ships.

In no way am i knocking this fantastic add-on. You all did a great job, and I can't thank you enough.

Cheers.

You mean we didnt put enough flak? Really? Wrench!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He said there isnt enough flak!

No more room to add carriers and there are so many objects now its bogging down peoples systems. We had to take things out.

See answer to #2. Also the campaigns controls what we go after, we can not control that.

s**t, my ass there ain't enough!!! Practically went frakking blind laying out hundreds of AAA sites, singly and batteries. Read thruogh the targets.ini, and you'll see them listed!

make sure you're playing with "Heavy" or whatever the maximum amount of enemy units there is.

have you run across any of the T-55 Bridglayers in a Armed_Recon mission? If not, you're in for a little surprise....

Navy81,

Do you mean additional carriers, or you're not seeing any at all? I'll have to look at it when I get home, but I don't think we left out any carrier that was there during the majority of the conflict.

There are a few Navy squadrons that were left out, because we lacked the skins, but if you fly Navy in the campaign, you'll definately fly off a carrier.

when I head downtown, off the carrier, the clear sky turns to overcast with all of the flak

I don't get enough carrier landings because of the numbers of times I've "taken some flak"

You would enjoy some party we got in Spain. Basically, we fill an square of the city with fireworks. Not really those of the shiny kind you yanks delight, but the lousy, so the city rumbles and the sky tears apart

Dave, Wrench, JSF -

I was going single mission - i'll check out the campaign stuff. Also, didn't think about going "heavy" on the enemy side - but will do so next opportunity. So, please accept my apology for not having thoroughly done the "pro Alfa" on the system. I had seen all of the AAA targets on ingress, but just had not seen the curtain of flak. This still is a great add-on.

Thanks for the insight - and corrections!

Deke
