hiya guys!

Thought id share 2 simple mods i did to create more accurate Iraqi mig-23s for TW games:

I played around slightly with the stock textures in the game to get a slightly more worn look, but the important addition is the modification of the decal placements: Iraqi mig-23s followed a USAF insignia style, having the national marking on the upper port wing/lower starboard wing.

additionally most of the fin flashes were painted on the ground and appear slanted when the aircraft is flying level in the air.

Hope you guys find these useful :)

The point is that the Iraqi MiG-23BN was mounted rod receiving fuel.

Most recently lindr2 created a model of the Iraqi MiG-23BN in mind that this design feature.

And you can expect that this model will soon be available to all.

hiya

only one iraqi mig-23BN has ever been seen with a refuel probe, with the modification supposedly carried out on only a handful (though yet to see pictorial evidence for mass adoption). a far more common modification being the mounting of ASO-2 chaff/flare dispensors.

though both modifications were only ever carried out on a small percentage of the total mig-23bn fleet :)

however libya also recieved this modification, though not sure in what number

In principle, I have not said that all Iraqi MiG-23BN were equipped bar admission of fuel.

But it is the Iraqi vehicles were so equipped.

More than anywhere else in the world like the modernization of MiG-23BN not performed.

Anyway, I'm not aware ...

I think that a little later, lindr2 lay out their model for all ...

I think the MIG-23 in Iraq

used the Russian system.

IAF MiG-23BNs and MiG-27Ms were fitted with chaff/flare dispensers...don't know what these dispensers were called.

The photo you uploaded that you can see the cartridge counter measures.

It is normal for anyone, you can see the container of the cartridges.

Which varies only a little aerodynamic shape.

PD:

and the name is invention national . jajajajaja

Very good picture.

I love the details.

thanks

ghostrider883 and Marcos (!)

Very helpful photos (!).

And most - on the topic.

I have experienced in his samples found on the MiG-23BN and MiG-27ML device emission of heat trapping ...

This is especially true for variants of the MiG-27M engine AL-31F ...

In general, variants of the lot. Some time ago, gathered modified MiG-27M-96: the long, that it is done, it has created for him ILS ... But it works a lot ...

I have a question to you, sir, regarding the different position from the BN related to MiG-27, i've been trying to modify it from the ini's unsuccesfully, so, do you have an idea how to do it?

Sorry to disagree, but it does; take a look in the tail area related to the ground:

I tried to get pictures to show the relevant diference between types. I was told once that it was because the MiG-23BN had one more fuel tank (the MiG-23M/MF too) it had the lower tail stance, but i'm not too sure; now, you guys that know more than i, please tellme if it's possible to modify them?

I think the low stance of 23MF/BN was due to low pressure tyres for operating from rough airfields.
