Super Hornet Package for SF2 v4.1

Recommended Posts

As long as the serial matches the aircraft, the tanks are just like any other mesh.

...so basically, they work just like the aircraft's decals when functioning in-game?

Yup, least that's my understanding...

Well, check it out, Eric.

I may have found a bug.

Decals will show on the Rhino's tanks in-game....just only on the INSIDE of the tank...

how do I attach images again?

Okay, unfortunately I don't decal the tanks, since I don't deal with much decalling. I'll ask FC to check it out. For the most part it hasn't been totally run through, since I don't decal, and nobody else, but we'll see about getting it fixed.

Don't look at me...I have no idea on decal issues!

As long as the tank looks right on the pylon, that's the extent of my knowledge!

I did some investigating.

...Maybe it's because the meshes in the .OUT file and the actual mesh of the weapon are completely different...

FA-18E.OUT

============================

CenterDT (1188 polys, 3564 verts) 'Standard_9'

============================

Tank480_FA18EFG.OUT

============================

ExternalFuelTankShape (1188 polys, 3564 verts) 'Standard_1'

============================

...see what I mean?

For decal purposes, the mesh you concern yourself with is of the tank that is on the model.

The external tank model within the Weapons folder isn't used for the Super Hornet in SF2.

Thanks to ArtuR for the June 2010 patch, add this to the F-18E, F-18F, and EA-18G _Data.ini respectively to seat the cockpit correctly.

[AircraftData]

...

CGPosition=0.00,0.00,0.00 --------> to 0.00,0.35,0.00

Updated again, check the changelog for additions as well as the README. Note that due to improvements I'm working on I have pulled the aircraft pack from the Combatace Freeware License. I have future plans and modifications so I don't want people getting ahead of me or anybody who has additions.

For a fix right now (I didn't change anything in the G cockpit...) copy and paste the cockpit file from the E or F (it uses the same cockpit) and see if that doesn't fix the problem. Right now I don't have the ability to go over the files and see what the issue is.

There was a typo in the EA-18G_Cockpit.ini file

Change this:

[CockpitSeat001]

ModelName=Cock_F18C

To this:

[CockpitSeat001]

ModelName=Cock_F18

And in the EA-18G.ini file

Change this:

AvionicsDataFilename=FA-18E_avionicsnoforn.ini

To this:

AvionicsDataFilename=EA-18G_AVIONICS.INI

Should be good to go after that.

Okay.

Maybe I am just being paranoid.

But is anyone else having a problem with the new LOD???!!!

Because when I am in-game... the shadow map on it is INVERTED.

The light source shows underneath the aircraft...

...and the "shaded" area is on TOP.

I would post a pic, but we can't do that in this thread...

No, I mean the F/A-18E.

I had no idea an "E" version even existed...

Unfortunately I do a lot of custom work with weapons and sometimes forget to change it. Just change it to the D version and things will be fine.
