A very humble skin request for the MIG-23MLD

Recommended Posts

So here it is anyone with skinning skills willing to this sking for the MIG-23 ? Seeing as how it gets better with the recent effort Ordway and eveyone else involved into improving the aircraft. I would be greatly indebted if someone would be willing to do the following sking even though the Indians never flew the MLD. Please let me know, even if the replies are in the negative. TIA.

So I've pi$$ed off everyone that no one is willing to do this skin eh ! :sad::sad: Well, if it helps even the Soviets used a similar colour scheme for their air superiority sqds except the nose cone was just a slightly darker grey as oppossed to the black one seen in the pics above.

Though you do piss me off on a regular basis :biggrin: , usually the reason someone doesn't jump in to help with a request is because they're too busy with their own projects, or they just aren't interested enough, or like me, don't have the skinning chops.

You win some, you lose some. Everyone tends to have their own areas of interest and rarely stray outside of it unless it's something they're interested in themselves. I'm honestly surprised ghostrider883 hasn't jumped in, it's right up his alley.

oh let me know which of the MF Mig-23 models you want this for.I don't really have the ability to work on the stock skin as all my "templates" are for the MF versions.

Well, I'ld try something on the stock TW model ....

..... but is it really a MLD ?

Take a look here http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Images/Vintage/Fighters/MiG23MF/

It's seems an MF one. So I'ld have my homemade temps ....

Tell me something about please.

Paolo :yes:

PS Someone has some serial numbers ?

Yes I know that the IAF only used the MF model, but since I mostly fly the MLD thats why I requested the skin for that a/c. BTW both the MIG-23(s) I fly are the Mirage Factory ones.

U do realize that the MF floggers, the skins are interchangeable, just have to edit the bmps in the skin folder, and they are interchangeable

Sandesh :good: allowed me to use his original decal set and gave me some hints ....

I put the numbers on the front gear door, too ....

The job is almost done ..... but there is a little problem the TW Mig-23M/MF after the last SF-2 patch: it don't swing wings

Could you try if You have the some problem on your copy of SF2?

Thanks.

Paul :blink:

P.S. I made the plane flyable with Ordway's cockpit

Hello!

I agree, that bird is great!

It doesn't really matters, but...

What about adding a seat? :yes:

Maybe by adding those lines in the data.ini :

[Pilot]

SeatModelName=seat_f-100

SeatPosition=0.00,3.70,-0.05

if the pilot position is :

Position=0.0,3.80,0.38

I know it's off topic 'cause it's about a (great looking) skin, but it's also about aesthetic...

I think Mig-23BN,MiG-23M,MiG-23MF are made to be parked AC's if you try to keep 'em flyable you notice the full swept wing issue.

In my install they're flyng as the others!

Wanna know why?

Cause I've changed the LOD files!

For 23BN change with MiG-27 LODs (exactly the same 3D model tested well!) NO wings issue.

For 23M and 23MF change with MiG-23MLD Lod's same as above.

Don't forget to open the .CAT files and extract the stock skins,renamed the Skins:

For MiG-23BN (MIG-27_1 ...to MIG-27_5) for all skin.

For MiG-23M and MF (MIG-23ML_1...to MIG-23ML_5)for all skin.

Spend a little time to do and then GO FLY!

Notice if you want to go to a decent pit,go with Ordway's 23ML for all without any trick dowload the SFP-1 WoX one and install!

The 23M got radar issues for SF-2 use the 23ML until will fixed!
