Adding Squadrons Question...

Recommended Posts

I really hate asking for this but...

I've been researching this for a few days and though i've gotten tips from various places, i've yet to find an info source that has adding squadrons from step one through completion.

I recently tried with WOV and came close but i know a step or two were overlooked and i can't figure out exactly what it is. This came about when i was trying to use the Skyraider in Malibus43's WOV Ground War Enhancement. I could see the squadrons listed but they didn't come up on the menus so i decided to wipe out my current setup and start from scratch with a fresh install with only patching involved to begin with.

1. You need the squadronlist.ini

2. Open it and and add your entry at the bottom

Example:

[squadron216]

Name=510TFS <----------------------------- Must Match

DisplayName=510th TFS

Nation=USAF

3. Open the textureset.ini in the skin folder you want the squadron to use.

Example: A-10

[TextureSet]

Name=USAF Camo 1 Euro I

Nation=USAF

Squadron=510TFS <---------------------------- Must Match

Specular=0.400000

Glossiness=0.400000

Reflection=0.000000

4. You see where my arrows are pointing? These must match. If they do not your squadron will not show up.

5. For campaign use..... campaigndata.ini (I used the WOECAMP2_DATA.ini for example)

//----- Player Unit

[AirUnit027]

AircraftType=A-10A

Squadron=510TFS <----------------------- Must Match

ForceID=1

Nation=USAF

DefaultTexture=USAFgreen1

BaseArea=Sembach Airbase

BaseMoveChance=40

RandomChance=100

MaxAircraft=16

StartAircraft=16

MaxPilots=16

StartPilots=16

Experience=100

Morale=100

Supply=50

MissionChance[sWEEP]=0

MissionChance[CAP]=0

MissionChance[iNTERCEPT]=0

MissionChance[ESCORT]=0

MissionChance=10

MissionChance[CAS]=90

MissionChance[sEAD]=25

MissionChance[ARMED_RECON]=50

MissionChance[ANTI_SHIP]=0

MissionChance[RECON]=0

UpgradeType=NEVER

Supply[001].WeaponType=Mk82

Supply[001].Quantity=2880

Supply[002].WeaponType=Mk84

Supply[002].Quantity=480

Supply[003].WeaponType=AIM-9L

Supply[003].Quantity=240

Supply[004].WeaponType=AGM-65A

Supply[004].Quantity=480

Supply[005].WeaponType=AGM-65B

Supply[005].Quantity=480

Supply[006].WeaponType=CBU-24B

Supply[006].Quantity=480

Supply[007].WeaponType=GBU-10C

Supply[007].Quantity=40

Supply[008].WeaponType=GBU-12B

Supply[008].Quantity=80

Supply[009].WeaponType=ALQ-131

Supply[009].Quantity=40

Supply[010].WeaponType=Rockeye

Supply[010].Quantity=1440

6. in the main ini for the campaign that has the units it should look like this. (I used the woeCamp2.ini got example)

[uSAFUnit028]

UnitName=510th TFS 'Buzzards'

ForceID=1

UnitID=27

StartDate=1979

DescFile=woe2Start.txt

StartText=woe2Start1.txt

If you look above in the WOECAMP2_DATA.ini you see:

[AirUnit027]

This must match the above woeCamp2.ini for example

UnitID=27

That is all there is too it.

[uSNUnit010]

UnitName=VF-1 WolfPack

ForceID=1

UnitID=90

StartDate=1974

DescFile=wovL1Start.txt

StartText=wovL1Start1.txt

StartScreen=CampaignCarrier.bmp

CampaignBaseScreen=CampaignCarrier.bmp

AircraftType=F-14A

yeah the carriers placed properly ......or should i say ..it should be...........its the default kitty hawk from the linebacker 1 campaign witch is the campaign im editing.........all i have done is set the squadron to be based on the one in the campaign thats numbered 65 (the one thats supposed to represent enterprise) .....i should assume since it was already in the linebacker campaign it should work but i will take a look

EDIT......i HAVE tried changing the carrier number to 63 though just to make sure but........still no joy

i have even tried changing the finish date of the campaign to see if it was that ........i have spent a day searching....and i am completely stumped

i have even made sure the units are in the right place in the file ...............i read on here somwhere it could be a problem so i checked it lol
