Top screenshots needed

Recommended Posts

For a German WIKIPEDIA Article, I would like to use very good screenshots of aircraft, single or flying in formation or dogfighting.

If you at OFF OBD have some good ones with your logo in, please post them or PM them to me.

Everyone else: please use only sim skins and a variety of craft.

I don't have the best graphics yet, so I ask you for help here.

Whoever wants to contribute some, please follow some rules:

1. You should have most advanced graphics. Use highest resolution for the aircraft in workshop, please.

An exception would be shots made to demonstrate damage - here the next lower setting for aircraft is necessary.

2. Pick an interesting wheather - that can be chosen in "workshop QC's". I want some really nice and sunny wheather as well

as huge, dramatic thunderheads, but rather no rainy wash kitchen looks.

3. Pick some really interesting German skins for your German craft.

4. Do the dogfighting like a movie director. Manoeuver your craft to good angles in relationship to the sun and the other craft.

Use the "pause" key and wander around the frozen scene, to get the best angle; zoom in and out to get it right.

Also view scenes or single craft from above - sometimes a good angle. Turn and move around a scene in thunder wheather

so, that you may catch some reflection on the surfaces; that will give it an extra touch.

And after all that work, you should still be prepared, that your picmight not be used, although it is good - I can't plaster Wikipedia

with screenshots, and will have to pick some 3 - 6 pictures, to show the variety of types and skins.

Thank you for reading and for any screenshots.

Contrary to what Olham says the screenshots should not use the official OFF logo. OFF is now a commercial product and official pictures will be regarded also as commercial and deleted by some editors. That happened to the Wikipedia RoF article written by neoqb with their own screenshots. The only official picture that will survive is the cover shot of the game box. User made screenshots are okay.

Wikipedia articles about W.W.I flight sims for reference:

Dawn Patrol

First Eagles

Flying Corps

Knights Of The Sky

Red Baron

Red Baron II

Rise Of Flight

The Red Baron II Wikipedia article had once a very well written history about Red Baron II and its mods. It was regarded as personal opinion and sort of propagande and deleted completely by various (dumb) editors. The problem is everyone may change and alter the articles to their liking. But I am sure we will have a lot of watchmen 'guarding' the articles

Olham, when do you need these by? I will be out on the road for a couple of days starting tomorrow, but I could work on a few shots for you this weekend possibly.

Cheers!

Lou

Yes, that's early enough. Will only find time for the writing on weekend, myself.

Even if any pics arrived next week, I could still exchange them.

To make it more Wiki- and common user-friendly, I may even add your forum names there

for each picture I use, to make clear, that this is not posted by OBD, but by players.

Great idea Olham! Some of these screenies are old (pre-super patch) but please feel free to use these or any of the other sreenshots of mine in the SS sticky thread. OFF is a wonderful sim that should be enjoyed by ALL pilots young and old. :)

They are okay, Wels, but I'd prefer pics that almost tell a story; I can't use too many there,

so they must be THE PICS of all pics.

Yeah, that's more like it, Cameljockey!

I will also check through the many screenshots and ask the people who sent useful ones,

if they can be shown in Wikipedia.

All of these screen shots are quite amazing.:yikes: It's also great the way the quality of the shoots has improved over this last year, especially from those who were new to OFF a year ago and are now capturing moments as good and better then those of us who have been doing it longer.

Excellent.. hope to see many of them in your article, Olham, and a big thanks for your efforts, yet again. :drinks:

Here's some Olham. The first one found favour with a few people... I DO LOVE dusk shots

A dusk shot would be fine, but remember, the most important in a promotion set

is the aircraft and their actions. Do you think, you could get there again, with a

dogfight at dusk? It's tricky to get them right; needs the right bank angles with

the upper surfaces towards the feeble light. Tracer lines would be fine of course!

Please, try another! I have worked out half the text now. Have to get it comparative

to other sims, but not in the same style, and I mustn't forget good details.
