That was funny! Love English humor! Still go back and watch the the Python Flying Circus. The Cheese Shop, Dead Parrot, and the original skit of the Lumberjack are good ones for a laugh. Oh yes, and the skit where everyone is turning Scottish.

Yes it has alway struck me as strange that such a clever guy as Doenitz should have wanted to take the job when obviously the 3rd reich was dead on its feet. Maybe they were all a bit mad at that time. And Doenitz didn't even get to sign the surrender document, that being left to Jodl.

Correct. Our goverment thinks they don't just have to protect the youth - they even have to protect us adults (against ourself?)...

If gore is splattering blood: no, we can't have it - officially.

But when you know where to get those...

:suicide:

Yes, it's ridiculous. Our boys are meant to fight and maybe kill in Afghanistan,

but we can't have a Swastika on a model plane, or blood in a video game.

Oh no! where is the bulls**t smiley? I always wanted to use it!

Its perfectly reasonable, its best to gloss over the past and forget all about so i can't ever happen again!..... hang on that doesn't sound right....

What's next? Banning any mention of the British Empire in case we accidentally invade india?? :)

Really silly thing is ebay dont allow any Bhudist, hindoo or native American items with a swastika even though they have nothing to do with the Nazi party... just because Germany (and I believe France?) have made a simple geometric shape illegal regardless of context.

Lucky the Nazis didn't use a circle as thier symbol or anything with wheels would be banned!

The attitude of the German government toward symbols that might even remotely be connected Hitler & pals has been and continues to be ridiculous (mildly put!).

And sometimes other people have to suffer for it. I remember when I bought Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin. The version sold here in Finland was from the same publisher as in Germany, which meant everything connected to Nazi symbolism was removed from the game. Even the SS wasn't mentioned, they had invented some completely different name for Waffen-SS troops.

The best of all was the censuring of Finnish swastikas from the game, even though they have nothing whatsoever to do with Nazis and were used in Finland long before there was a single Nazi in the world. So thanks to the silly German legislation, we CM players in Finland had to make new skins for Finnish tanks that included the proper swastika symbols.

I'm sure some of the flags and badges of our Air Force would cause heart attacks to German legislators.

As an example of our Evil Finnish Nazi Symbols currently in use, below is the flag of the Karelia Air Command.

Oh!, they do. Only they have to do this kind of things to rest the simple minders.

That reminds me the Winnenden's case in Germany, in which a young student shoot at his fellow students. Everybody was shocked how that was possible in a little town like Winneden. They discovered that the disturbed boy played video games, specially FPS (First Person Shooters), like most of youths. So they see here a reason for the disturbed behavior. What is the attitude of some German politicians? Lets ban this kind of games. It doesn't matter if it's a reason or not. But sound ... sane, and will rest the easy public mind.

I believe the original 'swastika' is this Hindu Symbol, and goes back many centuries.

I guess somebody better start peeling the Church Key labels of the back of Beck's Beer bottles. That was used as a emblem for a crack SS Panzer unit, I believe.

Like here in the US, some people get all hot-n-bothered by the sight of the Confederate States Battle flag. Even though some or part of it is makes up part of seven US States flags. We can't have that, but it's O.K. for Mexicans to fly their country's flag ABOVE ours on the same flag pole?? The principal at my daughter's High School allowed that during "Latin American Week". Needless to say, several combat vets including myself showed up unannounced at her office. When she refused to lower the flag, we did it for her, and raised Old Glory to its rightful place.
