 Hi gentlemen. As stated by me previously in this Thread or an other, we, the END-users or "gang of Down-Loaders" (Yes!, still free ones, "unpaying" members :grin:) are grateful to the Admin and Modders of this great, multi-cultural Site.

 

I myself, a "detailer" -- the one who in my adult, professional life never skipped attention-to-detail exercise -- DO NOT mean to disrespect any creative, and productive Modders of various DL-able mods.

 

Some people here might have regarded me as the "noisy" one (member, not paying yet) for posting things like this.

 

But please, bear with me. Mine and others are useful feedbacks to any Modders.  

 

Kindly do refrain from quickly being on the "defensive" (offering, excuse me, unrealistic excuses) v my "findings" of some issues on various mods. 

 

I really appreciate everyone's cool-headed, matured, professional reactions over such useful IN PUTS/feedbacks of mine and others (BTW, a senior member, recently simply state, and I quote "suck!" unquote over one specific old TERRAIN mod -- I do not have time to copy his a bit harsh comment).

 

A good customer-service guys at any "Justified Complaints" Department would normally responded as such (cool-headed, professional responses).

 

One may wish to interject, and it's her/his very right doing it; "But, Raden u do not even pay and have DL-ed so many mods, didn't u?"

 

Yes I did, but I have been doing on-line by way of paying my provider dude. And it's no cheap either here in this land of FELONS Indonesia. Nearly USD 30.00, monthly dudes.

 

NOW, dear Suso5 and Gephard, followings are my findings, plus a copy of the FORMOSA Strait_data.ini.

 

I do not recall which part of the lines I changed. Yet, the change(es) on it (the FORMOSA Strait_data.ini) produces a satisfactory result, with only "small" issues left, of which I found no solution (Kindly inspect the pics entitled "Small Remaining issues...).

 

As for the TAIWAN Sea, I gave up Suso5. I cannot solve the issue, namely, of the SEA that looks more like a VAST, solid, rock-like open dark BLUE space throughout. Kindly inspect the related pics.

 

My sincere thanks to ur (Gephard's and Suso5's) very kind attention and time to inspect these attachment. 

 

Hopefully u gentlemen would kindly next do some corrections on ur respective GREAT terrains.

 

I do like both, but their SEAS (Taiwan; Formosa Strait is O.K. post fixing by me) -- excuse me -- turned me off.

Formosa terrain is written for WOE. It is using the WOE standard tileset from GermanyCE. 3 additional tiles i made are also included in the package Formosa1.0. It seems to be sat you use for this 3 additional tiles 3 other tiles which are basing on SFP1 standard terrain Desert.

Thatswhy you have the strange looking terrain at picture 7,8 and 9.

 Hi gentlemen. As stated by me previously in this Thread or an other, we, the END-users or "gang of Down-Loaders" (Yes!, still free ones, "unpaying" members :grin:) are grateful to the Admin and Modders of this great, multi-cultural Site.

 

I myself, a "detailer" -- the one who in my adult, professional life never skipped attention-to-detail exercise -- DO NOT mean to disrespect any creative, and productive Modders of various DL-able mods.

 

Some people here might have regarded me as the "noisy" one (member, not paying yet) for posting things like this.

 

But please, bear with me. Mine and others are useful feedbacks to any Modders.  

 

Kindly do refrain from quickly being on the "defensive" (offering, excuse me, unrealistic excuses) v my "findings" of some issues on various mods. 

 

I really appreciate everyone's cool-headed, matured, professional reactions over such useful IN PUTS/feedbacks of mine and others (BTW, a senior member, recently simply state, and I quote "suck!" unquote over one specific old TERRAIN mod -- I do not have time to copy his a bit harsh comment).

 

A good customer-service guys at any "Justified Complaints" Department would normally responded as such (cool-headed, professional responses).

 

One may wish to interject, and it's her/his very right doing it; "But, Raden u do not even pay and have DL-ed so many mods, didn't u?"

 

Yes I did, but I have been doing on-line by way of paying my provider dude. And it's no cheap either here in this land of FELONS Indonesia. Nearly USD 30.00, monthly dudes.

I think you're missing the point here. As far as I am concerned, there is nothing wrong pointing out issues with a mod, BUT that should be done within reason. In my honest opinion it's not too hard really to find a spot on pretty much any terrain that doesn't "look right".

And paying your monthly internet fee doesn't change the fact that the mod is of no charge for you and I doubt that your provider is paying a percentage to the creator of the mod you seem to have an issue with. Not to mention that the creators of the free(!) mods have pay for their web access as well.

 

Given that it couldn't hurt to check your expectations regarding customer service.

They provide theire mods for free so they dont really own you anything dude. Some do provide the support they can and some dont but its wrong to ask anything from them since they are already giving so much of them selfs.

First, I appreciate and do thank Gephard's explanation/reply. As stated by me, I am not an expert on either Tiling or "Terraining".

 

Next, to Exclusie and Gocad,

 

First issue: Me as a non-paying member [hopefully for next three month I shall subscribe as paying member - amen, because being a non-paying "down-loader", non only here in this great Site (contents-wise MODS)  entails LESS opportunities (Fraps FREE version a case in point, also nearly ALL the DEMOS flight sims on the Net.) as far as DL r concerned.

 

Besides, I do not recall saying that all modders DO NOT pay their respective I.Ps. No disrespect to all Modders.

 

The fact that everybody here, mostly a guy like I am a Non-Paying ones doing on-line in the Net by way of subscribing to available I.P.s show beyond any doubt that we made an effort to reach in this case CA.

 

Yet, as stated several times by me, in this very difficult eco-finance condition all over the world, e.g. my family and I must make priorities.

 

Except mom (my wife) who is not familiar with this kind of activities (due to her being tied up daily with he boss' (a lovely, Chinese-Indonesian widow of 45 years old and real tough-minded lady), all our growing kids have been actively on 7/24 using this wonder of tech, the Net connecting that we subscribe to a rather expensive I.P (cable).

 

Nevertheless, allow me to apologize to all Modders should my statement had been offending them or members like Gocad and Exclusive. Swear to G that I did and do not mean to be doing that. So, allow me to apologize to u all.

 

Re: strange things here and there in whatever terrain, let me repeat: I have long been a "detailer" in nearly every thing I did or supervise others doing, senior or juniors of mine. Strictly on professional works and family affairs. E.g., every night when I was home, late at 01.00 a.m. I always triple checked whether our growing kids have LOCKED the front door (two added locks by me).

 

Crystal clear example: no pilots, civilian or military (fighters n cargo) skip this: check-recheck everything b4 taking off. All sy-divers do the same on their respective "rigs" b4 doing sky-dive. That's, to me, "detailers," not being "noisy".  

 

Lastly, to Gocad and Ex, thanks for ur feedbacks. Chill gang.....:))

i understand your detail approach to the terrain, this is my opinion , as far as for formosa terrian -their isn't a problem with the terrain it is build such in such way, on to my expertise on taiwan terrain- the taiwan terrain needs to be rebuild as far as what i notice when adding groundobject - it is highly recommend you just flood the terrain with what ever object you have ensuring the object do not sink or appears halfway when viewing when pressing one of the f keys. you have to remember taiwan terrain came from avsim -those are really old stuff and it migth have to take many hours to make it perfect and also terrian builder which i'm not going to bother. just fix with what you got and to the point when things can't be fix it might need terrain builder or not.

Honestly Raden your posts are killing me, at first I thought you were a child and that was why the moderators gave you so much leeway but it seems that is not the case. My experience was that I asked about two questions before some one kicked me in the A** and pointed me to the knowledge base. From here on out I'm blocking your posts but I will offer this bit of advice.

 

The Formosa terrain was designed before the 08 patches were released. It is my experience that when used with the 08 patch level or later that much of the terrain objects like entire factory complexes, buildings and bridges are buried in the terrain and do not show up . Gepard is not really interested in revisiting that terrain..

 

The Formosa terrain rocks with the 06 level patch try that

 

Starry is working on a formosa update and it looks awesome just wait, it is on the way
