ATI 10.6 driver out

Recommended Posts

Gentlemen,

There are new ATI 10.6 drivers out...

but

They are not working that great playing OFF. I have had numerous system crashes after installing them.

I'm back at 10.4a with no problems.

Thanks a lot for the info and warning, Morris! So I'll better keep the previous version.

Thanks for the warning Morris.

I've a 4xxx card; they seem to have stop optimizing it.

I'll pass this one.

Morris,

Thanks for the heads up. FWIW, I'm not having any problems with the Windows7 64 bit version. The driver didn't install correctly the first time...had to install it again, but otherwise okay.

Hello fellas,

Is there a consensus on the ATI drivers? 10.6 or 10.4 ???

I have a 4870 1 GB, so should I assume that the new drivers are not going to make much difference for such an "old" card?

I find ATI drivers to be particularly flakey and problematic to delete/install, so am loath to make a change unless justified.

Thanks for any replies...

Hi Bandy,

I'm using 10.4a drivers with my 2x 5970 cards.

With the 10.6 drivers I can't make screen shots in OFF.

Does anybody else have the problem?

M
