Transparent Highway Airstrip Objects

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Just dropped Stary's excellent GermanyCE terrain into my terrain mod folder, where so far only JSF_Aggies much appreciated Highway Airstrips resided. the GermanyCE terrain did NOT overwrite any files from the HAS mod.

Now what I notice is that the objects of the landscape (trees, clouds) actually blend trough Aggies trees around the HAS, as if his trees were half-transparent. Tried setting Blending Option to off for Solidtexture material, didn't fix anything. My GermanyCE Data ini is attached, if someone wants to have a look?

Also, I noticed that the A-10 in Single missions now gets assigned to take off from Highway Air Strips. What governs which aircraft gets put on which airfield? I'm not sure this is at all related to Stary's terrain, maybe I just noticed it now...

Data seems fine, Aggie's mod comes with trees? Didn't know about that...

Also, in each aircraft's _data.ini, there's a variable: MinBaseSize=.

Only aircraft with MinBaseSize=SMALL should ever be put on a highway airfield, unless that stoped working just recently.

But again, make sure you're using the files in the link above. It just contains the objects, an airbase.ini, and a modified GermanyCE_targets.ini and GermanyCE_types.ini

Thanks you two for the awesomly quick replies.

Aggies, that's the file I'm using, I still have it on my memory stick with the very same filename of the download here. I could try redownloading but I'm 99% sure it's the same version with the same timestamp.

Could it be because I edited Stary's terrain to have no seasons, and only copied the contents of the main folder from Part1 of his two Part downloads?

I suppose I need to get a screenshot...

It's really weird since the two mods do not interact with each other at all, as far as I can see. Stary's mod adds a GermanyCE.INI, GermanyCE_DATA.INI, Aggie's files add a GermanyCE_Targets.ini and GermanyCE_Types.ini

They are not overwriting each other. And BTW it's true, I'm seeing that in Aggies ZIP file. no tree TGAs are included at all.

I'll get a screen this evening...

Helmut,

I think that is just the way it is. It doesn't have anything to do with adding the highway airstrip. Distant .tga's are rendered on top of near .tga's, you just don't see it at 20k feet.

Stary may know if there's a way to get them to render in the correct order.

Ok here is something weird. With my 1GB graphics card in my laptop (Nvidia G335M) and I didnt have any issues with it. However when I went to a 256 card, those issues showed up. Just a thought.

There are different display results for the very same AlphaObjectsTextureMaterial settings even between various patch levels, the best so far were in stock unpatched WOI as far as my memory goes.
