Roland CII as a bomber?

Recommended Posts

Hi

As mentioned in another topic

have I had a number of Close air support missions were we have been assigned to escort Roland CII’s on bombing missions. But that doesn’t turn out were well since the Roland CII doesn’t carry any bombs in BHaH!

So what is most historically accurate?

Shouldn’t the Roland CII be assigned bombing missions or is it possible to edit the Roland CII loadout so it can carry bombs?

According to Wikipedia could the Roland CII carry a load of four 12.5 kg bombs under the fuselage.

Cheers

Hi

OK, so is it possible to edit the Roland CII loadout so it can carry bombs for the AI in campaign play?

Cheers

In theory, yes.

I think if you look in the .xdp file for the Roland you will find a section for mission types and load outs. You might compare this with the .xdp file of an allied craft that does carry bombs to see what you might have to add.

As for getting the AI to carry bombs, that may be a bit more tricky. My first suggestion would be that you would have to edit the .SQD file in the RolandCII Sqd folder, but there may also be some squad editing that is required as well.

I'd take a look, but I am a little busy with other projects right now!
