can we have movable visors

Recommended Posts

can we have an option to move the tinted visor up and down when flying towards the sun, otherwise you get blinded for a short time, kind of like the effect of flashbangs in R6 Rogue spear

That is a really good idea. Most sims have some sort of glare that make it hard to see planes when looking directly at the sun. But the flashbang effect from R6 is far better than anything I've seen in any flightim. IRL, when you look at the sun, it really hurts and you for a while after it's hard to see anything in any direction.

A feature like this would make looking into the sun higly undesirable and make tactics like attacking from the sun more interesting.

Good question, and good idea too. One of the features I like most in IL-2, is the blinding sun - sometimes I really loose an enemy plane from sight when it crosses the sun - specially after AEP add-on expansion.

But it is WWII and tinted helmet visors weren't used afaik.

In Lomac for example, we don't have the same effect, probably they're supposing the pilots visors are down all the time, I don't know.

It is not a very hard effect to implement, an alpha-channeled sun object and a sudden scene gamma increase when camera points directly to the sun object, would do the trick.

How good is the visor really. Can the pilot look right into the sun as long as the visor is down?
